I agree. It’s one of the reasons I still enjoyed Black Ops 3 as well. While it did have obvious inspiration from the Cthulu mythos, it still grounded most of its plot around real life conspiracy theories and events. It’s basically a combination of the hollow earth, aliens influenced ancient humanity, quantum immortality and multiple worlds conspiracy theories mixed together with Lovecraftian influence. It even sprinkles a bit of the Knights Templar/Free Mason conspiracy theories as well.

I think that blank portrait was representing the only major character we had since WaW but did not know what they looked like, so they put in a blank - Dr. Maxis.
It was absolutely pablo, it makes a lot more sense than something like maxis. Pablo was one of richtofen's test subjects but supposedly died and got replaced by Dempsey, which is why he's blacked out. And when you play as Takeo, he says "maybe what once was is no more, but shall be again" which is implying it is pablo

That makes sense. Kino is a presentation of the work that Group 935 has been doing under Richthofen and Maxis. There’s the tele on stage + film reels of the zombies, perhaps the super soldier test subjects (our characters) have portraits because they’re also being presented. Takeo’s quote about the blank portrait is also applicable to Macis who is “killed” by Richtofen but comes back in Moon

Jason blundell confirmed that the ascension poster/teaser art that had a strange unseen character was dr gersh, maybe it was a hint at the next map or future character. So I believe the portrait is dr gersh. There is also the rocket room in kino acting as a hint at the next map.
Takeo's quote in BO1 Kino match up with Pablo Marinus, "Perhaps what once was, is no more, but shall be again!" Meaning that Pablo Marinus was a hero in a great war and was suppose to be a test subject but it was a failure experiment and he died and erased from the group which is no more. But then he returned in Tag Der Toten being alive as a hermit and revealed himself being a hero.

I’ve always thought it was either Pablo or Viktor Reznov. Maybe even Peter McCain, I know it wouldn’t make sense for him to have a portrait in a Nazi facility, but I mean it wouldn’t make sense for Takeo, Nikolai or Dempsey to have one either

If you notice whilst going through the water tunnel or the “worm hole” it starts off as an icy tunnel and half way through, the ice is gone and it is just rock. I think this infers you are travelling to Phobos.
My theory is the reason you can only see Mars when you go through the ice tunnel and the music video shows Tag Der Toten in Phobos is because Tags a pocket dimension that coexists inside the interior of Phobos similar to Alcatraz. When you go through the tunnel you see mars through a rift and loose interior of the hollow moon.

@@joeosullivan2000 they did that for bo4. But even up to bo3 they were hinting that Tank would be the one to get things done or atleast lived the longest. One of the hardest cyphers ever found to this day revolves around tank.

Player 3: Takeo
Player 4: Richtofen

The blank portrait was 100% supposed to be Pablo back in the day. I only say this because the first and only reference for quite some time of him was from call of the dead. Which is a couple dlcs later, not to mention that call of the dead was planned during WAW.

We can't say with certainty that Treyarch hadn't thought up the Primus crew when Kino released
Hell WAW had a song in its files about Jeb building the PAP machine and that wasn't revealed until BO2
It isn't insane to think that some of these "unsolvable" eggs are only unsolvable because there is still information Treyarch is sitting on

Quick theory: Dempsey is Misty's great grandfather. Let's say Dempsey's daughter gets married and has a son. She would probably tell that son about her her father was a marine, which would have inspired him to become a marine. He then gets married, and one of his children is Misty.

For me, the only thing I'm still thinking about among all conspiracies is Emilia name in Kino Der Toten, maybe in the future we will see that name.

You think it’s possible that Tank had Misty during one their many travels? There are countless dimensions so the variation of her “daddy” dying could simply have been an alternate Dempsey. The same way Richtofen stated that the version of Tank that had his soul taken had no important knowledge to impart meaning it’s possible that our characters could’ve lived very different lives like Dimension 2210 Eddy. In their final moments, Dempsey was asked what he really wanted and he said he wanted to live a simple life and hang up his boots and train recruits. My theory is that an alternate Dempsey had a child while time traveling which would distort the age gap of Tank and Misty. Share your thoughts please!
It's still an insane theory but that's what I thought as well with how heavy the story is on multiverses and different dimensions.

Demsy couldn't have been born in the 1890s, he is a pfc in the United States Marine Corps. He wasn't allowed to pick up Corporal or Sargent because of hazing. Even if he had been a Sargent, he would have only been around 24 or 25. The only way around this is if he joined later in life gowever if he was born in the 1890s he would have been too old to join the USMC. I am myself a retired Marine.
So when would he have been born if that’s the case?

The black portaits in original kino were made by people who were not involved with bo3 zombies at all. The idea that the black portrait represented a multiverse timeline of a character that was already there is absolutely not the case.
TBH i believe the Kino portrait hasn’t been touched yet because they are using it for when they really need to, like they could make it Cold War Richthofen if they wanted to

I think they were probably teasing adding a 5th player to zombies with the portraits, it’s pretty obvious they thought about it before.
I think it’s either rictofen (bo1) or it is meant to be the player.
The way the the crew died could have been so much better. Like them sitting there with blood pooring from there eyes doesn’t seem like a very fun way to go out. Especially if you’ve been fighting zombies for a couple years straight.
I agree. After so many maps, so many dollars and so many game overs it would have been nice to see them succeed and be a to go back to a normal life. Yeah you could write it that nobody ever would know what they did for them, but that's fine because the DID it.
I think it's a lot more of a full circle, as in the game you play and die in an endless loop and when you come back you have more knowledge of how to do what the characters really did as they didn't die in the story(duh) but in the end the only way to truly win was to die all along like we've been doing as players and just end it all

The bo3 zombies screen is them chillin in the dark aether. Before they sadly turn into decrepit monsters, which is pretty much confirmed to have happened to the transit crew.
I like the idea of the portrait being pablo. It makes too much sense. It being primus Nikolai is really kind of dumb.

About Shangri-la, it is believe that in moon when you teliport to moon you go to the future meaning it can be a thing that is happening, because time travel and teliporting are linked

Where are zombies supposed to come from? Like on moon for instance, Is the implication that the thousands of zombies coming for you are all scientists and astronauts who were at the moon and turned to zombies?
Or do they just spawn in thin air like they do in the game? But like with some sorta magic essentially to explain how they spawn from nothingness

A problem with call of the dead is the ship, if pablo can't leave how could they and go back and forth
Personally what I think happened is whilst they were filming the rod made a bubble around the area of cotd and transported it to Phobos which is why no one could find George or the crew
And it would also explain how those zombies just came out of nowhere because obviously they set everything up like the cameras and the mics without finding a single zombie because they only came out when the ultimus crew were teleported there and in doing so the rod teleported the area to Phobos
With the kino pictures why dont people acknowledge the one on the ground after the blank one and the few that sre in the spawn upstairs where the zombies spawn from on the right side in the back? Am I the only one who thinks about all of them and not just the one?
Why would he have to test if they had souls? Was the shadow man and the apothicons looking for the kronorium? And if so why would they need it?
My take is the blank portrait in kino is it represents you the player as you are technically the fifth member of the crew viewing the story through the actions of what ever of the 4 characters the game chooses to put you as and because you aren't actually in the game but playing it you become a part of it and the blank portrait could be the representation of this maybe I'm wrong but seeing as the stories for the offshoot timelines weren't yet thought of maybe this theory is plausible

The mars theory is the reason I love zombies and sad things are they way they are now. So much of the content we've gotten has come from devs listening to the community speculate! Glad i was part of that era that was able to experience zombies for the first time ever!
These two maps as a result of Element 115 experiments have destabilised these two map locations in space and time and shift between past/future and present. Also since the Earth wasn’t in the same point in space in the distant past/future naturally the locations would imprint themselves onto the planets that were currently occupying these particular points space at the point in time they would appear in the distant past..
TL;DR: These two Zombie Map Locations are basically just Quantum Slipping through Time..
The silhouette is the same as ultimus richtofen, he just wanted people to see him while also think about who he represents

BO4 sloppily tied together long running Easter eggs as means to get people excited or actually playing the least played black ops zombies mode. I’m glad they did but you can tell with the explanations in BO4 it was not the original team who created these mysteries tying them up. Kinda sad. Guess it’s better than nothing. All those hours theorizing as kids playing WAW and BO1… just for someone doing their 9-5 un passionately trying to invoke nostalgia in the community.

People who say that buried was transported to 2035 are just incorrect. Now it might have been transported through time but not to that point. Many forget that the nazis discovered purgatory point during WW2 and were able to find the blueprints to pack a punch and were able to replicate it
Makes me so sad the cod zombies is in tatters. They need to bring back a set crew we can emotionally invest in and have a storyline that doesn't just seek like a military campaign with a twist.

You can't gloss over time travel like that, and we know the Dr was jumping through timelines/dimensions. Totally possible Tank is Misty's dad. If you can move tubes of blood between dimensions then you can move people or alter timelines. Lots of possibilities

Misty could be a great grandchild of dempsey and maybe dempsey’s daughter had a child who she told stories to about her dad(dempsey) and how he fought in the war and then this child of dempsey’s daughter decided to join the marines like dempsey where he eventually then had a daughter who turned out to be misty.
The lineage goes:
Dempsey->Dempsey’s daughter->son->Misty
There could be an extra parent/child here between dempsey’s daughter and Misty

We know the forest is where the go after Gorod Krovi and before Revelations, Monty says this about it in the "Official Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 / Treyarch - Dr. Monty" trailer, " "This is it. The aether. The infinite. The reality beyond.", to me it sorta seems like a gateway between Earth and Agartha.

I kind of feel stupid that no one's ever thought of the possibility of Misty being a granddaughter or a great-granddaughter after all if tank depcy had a daughter she would probably take her husband's last name which could explain the last name difference
The light from a shore video has a lot of like symbolic scenes, theres one with the house then the house but the trees are burnt and stuff. I think the whole video is symbolic and matching the tone of the music. also that rock could be a representation of element 115, since that is what our whole story started with.
But i do like the part about eclipse mode shang being on mars, but not tag. I think that ee is more so a call back to the old theory. what with looking at mars and hearing shang's loading music, and the fact that you aren't supposed to see tag from there should mean tag at least is in fact on earth, then you get a black loading screen to go back to the map
Pretty simple the guy tries to leave as he checks behind and tag is in the distance he eventually walks straight back into it because he’s doing a lap of a moon 18k kilometers could take someone 3 hours to walk so he feels like he’s getting away then he gets back to the same part of the moon he began with think that alone and the fact the music video has a picture of the moon and the fact that u can see mars through the tunnel is enough evidence that it’s on the moon did u just ignore the video when u watched itV

I don't know if it was different in bo1 and onward, but they definitely didn't originally. They got the zombies textures from burned German soldiers from the WaW campaign bc they thought it looked kinda like zombies

Wait, people didn't know Shangri-la was near the Himalayas??? I knew that within the first month the map released. Since the orginal Zombies story was based on real life things the Nazis did. One of those things was travelling to that region of the world to look for the orginal Arayan race. Which I assumed was the inspiration behind the map.
