Do you count your stitches? Maybe you are losing track as you go? They make things that help count you can search "crochet counter" on Amazon to see examples. I've never used one and this might not be your issue but this is all I can think of. I hope this helps good luck on your future projects!!

How do the lines of your project stay straight? I've tried this 6 times and it always goes crooked at the bottom
