    Coolness. Thanks to Captain Madden for showing us around and many thanks to you for getting it to happen. Those are some sweet sweet simulators. Once the brain accepts them as real they are a great training tool. I'd like to see the faces of the first boarding party that tries to take over an autonomous ship. No crew would be a shocker. With all the things that need to be done by the crew though, I don't see autonomous ships catching on.

      It's gonna be a weird future, that's for sure.

    Excellent production by M Leine as well as the creative contributions of her co-producer, editor, prod. designer, director of photography, visual effects, grip and assistant grip, who all also just by chance, share the name M Leine. In addition, many thanks to Rich Madden’s professionally presented tour of the facilities. Encore, Encore, Encore!

    Thanks for sharing the simulators with us Madeleine, very interesting to see how you are getting training in an environment that can simulate real world situations without you actually being able to sink the ship if you blow a decision. Don't hit the iceberg at full speed and other lessons learned the hard way before this technology.

    Very cool video. Thanks for the tour. I’ve never been in the one at KP. They were just breaking ground when I was there.

    Very neat. Thanks for sharing! I’d be interested to hear more about ships becoming autonomous in the future…

    That is so cool. It's a very impressive, professionally done video, too. Honestly, I am very concerned about autonomous ships, though.

    Cool video. I also noticed it seems like one of your assistants, I think it was M. Leine or maybe your Producer M. Leine, has upped her game editing wise. I don't remember the opening graphics before, the CC or the cleverly cut in-scenes of words that were mentioned by the host only to appear on a sign in footage. You should probably give M. Leine a raise or something.

      @@m.leinewolczko Maybe hold off on telling management. They may expect it every time and of course for no pay increase.

    You know the simulators are good if people take vacation time to come teach with them

    Wow some bit of kit, not sure about the image moving it might seem odd when your used to the shifting under your feet and the head to sea lurching of my small trawler.

      You'd be surprised how the visuals trick your mind. They can do small boats in the Sim too 😎

    That's amazing. Does he stick to the same ship, or hop around like you? Do you have footage of you in action, or would that have been too distracting for your training?

    • @m.leinewolczko
      @m.leinewolczko  Год назад +1

      He's permanent on one ship -- you have that option when you're a senior officer.
      And I'm working on an example scenario to share 👌

    "Tom Scott" just put out a video about a physical simulator training facility in Poland. Are you going to try training on these tiny ships in a lake?

      If someone pays for my travel, lodging and training to do that then absolutely 😆

  • @carycoombe3380

    Cool. I would be surprised if the crews from other, less affluent, countries get such fantastic training facilities. They probably have to learn their practical stuff, solely "on the job".

      @m.leinewolczko  Год назад +1

      You'd be surprised. I've heard from a lot of foreign guys that they travel to other countries to get their sim time. Many companies require it now, just to get a job as an officer or senior officer.
