Thank you very much for your great effort on the issues of system thinking, connectivity, cities, new organizational networks and so on... These are the topics which I actually study as a Phd, and every time I see a post from your Lab it makes me very excited . All in all, these are all the tools we have in order to create an alternative future, and it is on our hands.
Una excelente introducción. Gracias, Complexity Labs, por producir contenido no sólo de esta importantísima temática, sino también por presentarlo con tal impresionante calidad.
You're really close. But the question you're asking is political, not technical. It's nothing to do with having unsuitable institutions or anything like that. The foundational objective of our economies is production for profitable market exchange. Only innovations which serve that purpose can be tolerated within the system - it's a hard limit. If you pursue something else as your main goal, your economy loses the income required to do anything at all. Innovating for a system beyond that implies using society's capital stock to produce goods and services for some other, non-profit-based purpose, and that has revolutionary (political) implications.
it doesn’t need to replace profit as an incentive structure, perhaps just be more in balance with the wider context & apply a balancing economy such as an emissions trading scheme attempts to reward lower carbon footprints as an additional value economy for distributing rewards & / or mandate penalties to disincentivise tragedy of the commons behaviour .. probably worth jumping to the section on full cost accounting or regenerative economics, to find out more.
ok. logic. the rate of change outside and the rate of change inside change in every possible way every instant, which means the end is always AND never in sight always both right before during and after we decide that the end has been completed for everytime for the first AND last time until next time. sysyphus!!! stop crying and, nope n... fini

this is a great preamble to the UN Office of the future - but is limited as it does not refer to the ingredients of the UN Office of the Future
