Hhmmm, never heard it. I thought Super Donkey was some YI beta with an original never released character probably to test out the new YI mechanics and physics.
@@LadiesMan217 Nah, you are dreaming! Where were you at?!? You missed the excellent collection of super donkey ports on the gba! They even released new super donkey on the ds!
@@DespyCL Lol I only ever played the first 5 Mario games on SNES and moved on to ps2 and that's the extent to my childhood with Nintendo (specifically Mario) lol
@@LadiesMan217 Sorry for ruining the joke, but Super Donkey seems to be a really early prototype for Yoshi's Island. An in-between state between a Donkey Kong game and a Yoshi game. You can tell by the really similar artsyle, reused assets (like the early melon bug enemy, early monkey enemy, or an early background). Or the unused sprite of Donkey Kong and the name of the game itself.
mario bros isn't the only game where this song appared. because this song is in the public domain by virtue of being written before 1923, it has also appeared in other games, including taito's top landing (as the ending theme, appropriately enough), as the second song in ddr mario mix and as part of the mario bros stage theme in the smash bros series from braul onwards (the latter 2 obviously as an homage to mario bros)
I don't know why the music play this in an official nintendo studio.
Probably to practice samples and or the engine?
They killed this theme in the super donkey advance port. What a shame the gba couldnt handle it :/

😮
I feel like this sample would really fit a rendition of the mario 64 castle theme :)
iirc Nintendo often reused the same source samples for multiple Mario games, so I can dig it.
Perfecto piece of music
Classic huh
It's Beethoven
Mozart
Ode to joy is still better
Insert the choir and yeah, you got quite the nostalgia feeling!
