I delivered for Amazon for 3 years & the DSP's don't care. We used to get bit by dogs, slip and fall l & I'm in Texas so summers were brutal driving in 110° weather, driving in the rain getting soaking wet. They just don't care because they see u as a replacement piece. One of my co-workers was around 50 years old & she had a heat stroke & they just told her to keep working, ended up having 3 surgeries from it. That's why the turnover ratio is so high. They just don't care. SMH
Amazon left me with a severe back injury. When I returned to work, I was given no accommodation for the injury following surgery. It further hurt my back and cause me a 7 year recovery. Also, from Texas. F these companies, they deserve every bit of workers saying no to the conditions they work in.
Wait so you’re blaming conditions outside of the company’s control? But you knew the possible scenarios of being a delivery driver before u signed up right? Or did u think everyday will be a breeze and you’ll be paid high flying wages?
And a lady w broken ankle Amazon doc said ok to work light duty, she was still in so much pain she couldn't go in anymore and was fired. Now partly crippled cause she didn't stay off foot and rest like the real Dr told her
From what I seen them striking about so far is Less hours and higher pay? How does that even work? And don’t talk about safety if that’s the case every warehouse in America would be shut down they aren’t unsafe at all
A friend of mine applied for a job at Amazon as an IT specialist and was shocked by the bare minimums that were offered in the contract. Needless to say he did not accept the job but was very disappointed by the company.
Dude, Amazon makes them defecate in bags in order to deliver on time. Dejoy is actively defunding and upending the usps to drive down public opinion, to justify privatizing the usps. Stop trying to divide workers. Capitalists are the ones that decide on deliveries, and work conditions. They aren’t on our side. We need worker solidarity, not division.
Worker solidarity, otherwise capitalists will have y defecating in bags, and monitoring every blink of the eye made in order to maximize productivity on the job also. Capitalists aren’t on the side of workers, only workers are.
No, worker solidarity. Capitalists aren’t on y side. They’re the ones that create these conditions in the first place, not the workers-they’re just following orders, and being paid pennies to do so.
It is really inconsiderate of the workers to choose this timing. People order from Amazon year-round. There is no need to adversely affect the holiday. It won't affect me, personally, but I think it's a shame.
It's not inconsiderate, it's smart. On the other hand, it was pretty inconsiderate of Bezos to decide his newspaper couldn't endorse a candidate right before the election. Good luck to the Amazon workers, they NEED a union, and they deserve to have one.
If you live in Alanta , New York, California,Illinois or even Canada. Move to different country or state where package processing is smoother Or don’t use Amazon
I worked at one of their warehouses, the work can be tough according to what you're doing, and there is room for a pay increase. Due to the current rate of inflation there's no issue with demanding more money, especially with these kind of low-skilled jobs. And who are you to determine someone's worth btw? You do understand that you also need those "low-skilled scrubs" to keep store shelves stocked so you can feed your pathetic self, don't you?

Predictable outcome of not having democracy at work

All the best to Amazon workers. 👍👍

Black Friday is when they should have done this.
Most folks don't really use Amazon for Xmas shopping like that.
Missed opportunity
Love Amazon products but we need unions and government support to stop sweat shops like Amazon. Make work humane. Safe mentally and physically.
i would say give them a safer work enviroment, a lot of safety issues.
Staying home is the safest
Most likely they probably will get fired. This is Amazon. Everybody is replaceable.

Everyone hates postal workers for holding packages hostage. If they want to make the same mistake, I already have my deliveries and lots of popcorn.

Fair wages are un-American

In reality it's actually not considerate the Amazon is run.
So this is the reason why they’re just delivering packages to random house?
We don’t care.
Amazon workers must unite & win. They've ruined my Christmas
Teamsters and uaw members that voted for grifter trump will lose
IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE PAY DON'T TAKE THE JOB!!!
I bet you also think those in poverty should take a job, no matter the pay.
If you dont like the pay, Unionize your workplace.
@juliethompson8685 No one is forcing you to take the job. Use it as a stepping stone and move on.
Don’t donate a whole bunch of money, if you don’t have the money to pay your employees. Common sense😂

more unskilled scrubs demanding more money than they're worth. what else is new?

I'll take that as a no
