The music works so well with the scenic landscape. I honestly can't describe just how much I love the experience. I feel like I'm in every one of my favorite fantasy/fairytale stories. It's so beautiful.

RayRexDex I played both oblivion and Skyrim I never played morrowind tho but I’ll be honest I played Skyrim first when it released and after awhile I bought oblivion cuz I was curious and I honestly still preferred Skyrim but that seems to be an unpopular opinion among others that played both
Skyrim was the first western RPG I have ever played, and I fall in love with it ever since, this game taught me so many things, sorting out different kinds of quests, how to make myself a well-organized cozy home( my room still look awful though), the thrill of venturing the world, don't attack the chicken, it takes an arrow in the knee for someone who wish to become a guard, and most importantly, it taught me English, thanks to this game, now I can share my thought in the comment session. Thank you Skyrim!
Oblivion has got to be the best, most beautiful, most emotional, most nostalgic game i have ever played. I hope one day we'll see another game that can capture the same level of beauty and emotion that i felt while playing Oblivion
@Gary_Host Gaming Bethesda is not ruining anything, definitely not driving Elder Scrolls into the ground, and light years away from becoming the new EA. You're probably just one of those salty Fallout fanboys pissed that they didn't give you exactly what you wanted
@@SP-wi9sv There seem to be a lot of those lately. Odd, because FO76 is good as hell, and clearly an experiment as Bethesda themselves stated, not some cash grab like it is constantly accused of being.
@ExtremeCynic Decided to look into it. Sir-Tech is defunct as of 2003 with 9 entries in their wizardry game series, the last of which was released in 2001.
Oblivion is good, though the imperial provence is dull looking as it's just lots of dense forests compared to varied landscape of Morrowind and even to some extent Skyrim and the main quest line is meh, it makes up for it with really good side quests, like the fighters guild and mages guild eventually build up to conflicts with outside factions, the Dark Brotherhood leads to a tale of betrayal from within, there's even interesting smaller side quests like you may learn of a painter who disappeared and if you go and look for him, you end up in a painted world battling painted trolls using turpentine to poison them or fall asleep at a certain inn and you may find yourself in the middle of a hijacking. Also shivering isles is loads of fun.

I do love Oblivion and compared to most games it's deep as the grand canyon but next to Morrowind it's nothing. I think Morrowinds whole "fuck you figure it out" approach makes the game feel more alive than any other game ever made and probably ever will be
Even though I am a bit tired of Skyrim, I can't help watching Skyrim-videos here on RUclips! And I sure like to live in and explore places like Skyrim! Great graphics.
Yeah, that wouldn't go over well with the kids nowadays. But I kinda get it. Armor-bikinis are really dumb. Give that woman some plate armor, a battleax and a bow for back-up. Armors are unisex, go Samus on this shit. I mean, actual Samus, not skin-tight blue suit stripper Samus. She sucks, and not in the way that gets you a ride home on Friday nights.
Same here, Jacob. Never had a more immersive experience with the training system and all that good stuff. It was the game that introduced me to the RPG world in '02.
I love oblivion! Its strongest side are the NPC and characters. For alot of them you felt like you built a friendship and got to really know them. During quests characters evolved as you got to know them better. That is what i want in the next elder scrolls. Characters that are deep and well written. I feel skyrim did a okay job, but very few characters stood out as memorable to me. They were all just diffrent shades of "badass" witch works fine to a certain degree but i would like more depth if i had to choose. =D
The elder scrolls' lore is sublime. I remember reading all the books in the games, reading lore on UespWiki, knowing a lot of stuff back in the days... man I was a big nerd
Oblivion is my favorite because I loved the story. I'm about to play through Morrowind again as well. I've been impressed every time a new elder scrolls came out so I cannot wait to see what's in store for the next one.
I just wish you had have touched on the music in Oblivion, which was just gorgeous. I even use the Oblivion music mod in Skyrim. Beautiful games and I can't wait for 6.
Oblivion is by far my favorite game within the series and favorite game of all time. I love the aesthetics of TESIV and the main quest line as well as The Shivering Isles. Amazing DLC. Oblivion honestly changed my life.
@Malachai Carter Personally, I actually really like Skyrim's combat, as it is pretty fast-paced. It's not one of those games where you are just sitting there clicking, you actually have to use hotkeys, go to your inventory, use magic, etc. I also think it's pretty satisfying. Imo of course.
@Malachai Carter they did for the times they were released in. Yeah they havnt aged pretty well but they were fantastic at the time. The last elder scrolls came out in 2011, over a decade ago, ES6 will get with the times.
same here as well. I am torn between Morrowind's atmosphere, uniqueness and difficulty VS Oblivion's story and how the events and cinematic (especially that assassination thingy)and how they fight VS Skyrim's dragons and magic, music and graphics and interface.
Skyrim was my first experience with Elder Scrolls. It's amazing. The problem is that now I can't seem to be able to enjoy the previous entries. I tried playing Morrowind and Oblivion but just couldn't get into them. Kept comparing them to Skyrim and kept finding them lacking. It's not the gameplay either, it's the graphics. Oblivion seemed a bit empty and had too many flat textures and Morrowinds NPC's creeped me out too much. Now I'm waiting for Skywind and Skyblivion to be completed.
Arena - Classic Daggerfall - Creative Morrowind - Groundbreaking Oblivion - Vastly Improved RPG Feel Skyrim - Replayable Forever I love all elder scrolls but Skyrim blew my mind on how fun it is. I hope ES 6 will surpass it even more!
I would be very happy if bethesda just made a game that played like skyrim, had the graphics and some of the features of fallout 4 (or better) and was set in all of tamreil. I know ESO kinda offered that but I think it being an mmo ruined the immersion that you get with an offline rpg, I played like few hours of it but thought it was crap tbh. And you had like no freedom compared to skyrim.
I find it weird how people hate on Skyrim for being a unique ES game, those that came before it had classes and stats, but Skyrim took those away allowing you freedom in your character build, now that's Role-Playing
@@JargonMadjin taking away classes was too much...it basically means u can be a master of 1 handed 2 handed weapons wear both light and heavy armour become a arcane master and sneak around and slit peoples throats while persuading the guards ALL AT THE SAME TIME...just defeats the purpose of challange...and choice
@Urayis wish l to a degree yes...but what I'm saying is lack of dedicated classes ment makes the character building part way less fun and immersive and pointless to an extent
I was twelve when I first got excited for elder scrolls and it's the only game studio that I honestly still get excited about, and really just can't wait for it
I fucking LOVE this series of games, Bethesda, this video and you guys. I sat here smiling like a little girl and whispering oohs and aaahs watching all my favourite games and lore pass by. Thank you so much
Finding a magic item in skyrim: "Oh another fire sword of generic style that i will never use." Finding a magic item in morrowind: "What? a right hand glove that can shoot fireballs/give me levitation/water walking/invisibility/heals me/etc/etc?! Wow this is a usfull trinket that actually feels like something more then gold in the form of items." Factions in Skyrim: "So yea you did like 5 quests and now you are the faction leader! yey! Oh nothing have really changed and you will never really feel like you are part of anything" Factions in Morrowind: "Ok so you have now become one of the leaders of faction x after spending a long time claiming the ranks. I am sure glad you did not go for the other entirely different mage/fighter/noble house/assassin factions available. But now the it is time for the interesting missions. Also your relations with x other factions have changed ofc. Skyrim was a fun game. It is just sad to have played morrowind and see how little depth is left.
RasakBlood don't forget when you became leader of anything in oblivion you actually got paid and got respect and the guards weren't some tools that spit out the same 4 lines all day and actually help you a bit with directions and you had a better skill system
my current save is one where i used heavy steel armor and a steel battleaxe, all of witch i forged and enchanted myself and then spent way too much time spamming my forge skill with the iron dagger trick until I could make dwemer stuff, then upgraded my entire setup to dwemer.
Oblivion was pure magic 10 out of 10. most diverse zones, from golden plains to the west, to swampy willows in the south east, to mountains in the north, and bigass forests in between. THAT GAME WAS BEAUTIFUL. The soundtrack in oblivion still stands as the most fitting soundtrack for a game, and easily the most beautiful composition work ever of any game overall in my book. Jeromy Soule REALLY outdid himself here. Not to mention, the combat was diverse enough to litterally NEVER get boring. after my at least 1k hours in oblivion over multiple consoles and on pc, it STILL is fun. Also, the story was hands down the best story telling overall in an RPG i could find since Baldurs Gate. Morrowind also 10 out of 10. for its time was easily the best game out there until Oblivion came along. The world was unlike any world yo had ever seen. the factions were all so incredibly different, the story was extremely gripping and engaging, the magic system was fantastic, best in the series by far. (tho I still like Oblivions spell creation system best) Though i do find morrowind extremely dated when looking back on it now, but that was the charm of the game! perhaps i need to revisit with some mods soon. Ive never modded Morrowind before. Skyrim was and always has been extremely over hyped, and when you look at it analyticalally it was basically just a mainstream easy version of the other games with less spells and worse stories... the combat IMO wasn't actually better at all, just flashier looking, and flashy isn't always better. Skyrim overall was mediocre at best, though mods do HEAVILY improve Skyrim, I shouldn't have to spend hours and hours on the nexus looking for mods to make a game worth playing. Another problem i had with skyrim was it wasn't very memorable overall. from the characters to the storylines, it was all pretty bland and unmemorable to me. the only character in skyrim i can actually remember from skyrim is ayla for being hot, the obvious sheogorath, the legend himself, and cicero. cant remember any other names of the top of my head right now. not to mention, skyrims factions are really basic and boring, and your actions dont do much for the games world with the factions. politically, they are two sides of the same coin, and on terms of setting up a story for elder scrolls 6, it worked well, but that asside it really wasnt done that well. overall, skyrim was 7 out of 10 for me. i really hope they take TES:6 in a new direction
love oblivion but i wouldnt call that a "voice cast". that was like 6 people dong the same voices over and over for every NPC. with the exception of the 1 or two famous actors that were in it for 5 seconds
My favorite is Oblivion. It was the first open world rpg I really sunk my teeth into. I grew up loving jrpgs like final fantasy, dragon warrior (now known as dragon quest, ultima avatars quest, etc. So when I bought my Xbox 360, I seen how amazing Oblivion looked. So I thought I'd give it a try. I'm so glad I did. I'm a sucker for lore and story, and as you know there's so much you can get in ES games. Whether it's from npcs, letters, books, etc. Plus I loved joining and climbing the ranks of the various factions. I was the top guy in all of them. I especially loved the mages guild, the dark brotherhood and the thieves guild, quests. Skyrim was great too. I haven't played morrowind. I have it on the original Xbox, but I've never played it. I hope that Todd Howard and the rest of the Bethesda team are working on the next main, single player ES game. Hopefully we'll see it at E3, but I'm not holding my breath :)
Oblivious Kid best story and skill system in a RPG oblivion Skyrim:throw it all out and do whatever the f*** you want but its like super easy to over power
Oblivion's story is extremely weak. It butchers the oblivion crisis, which is one of the most impactful events for centuries in the lore. Most of the story is just "get amulet of kings" then "save world from daedra".
As one of the generally silent masses, I tend to to comment much. However, I did want to say that I can almost always tell when someone loves something and is passionate about a project, and I can feel how much the gameranx team loves and enjoys the Elder Scrolls series, and I like that. Mainly because I like them too :)
I want a Morrowind/oblivion/skyrim remastered massive mashup into 1 detailed epic game with All DLC and CO-OP!! also a way better crew on animations, hell give platinumgames a call. I think they should do this to show even tho Witcher 3 was flawless, We're still their Daddy!! *Windblivionsky* ? Windblivionsrim.... ElderScrolls6^
@Sam Lim It's down to personal preference really. I preferred the story of Morrowind more than Skyrim, by a lot. And I think missing gameplay elements that people enjoy, can be considered a downgrade. The spell system in Morrowind is the most fun out of any TES game imo and spell crafting allowed you to make some really fun spells on top of that.
Great video!! Can you show us how you guys make "Evolution of" videos? Have you played every game that makes an appearance in these videos? What kind of research do you do? Sources? Would love to see something like this!!
Oblivion was my fav (probs bias cause it was my first elder scrolls) but im currently playing morroblivion. I tried to play morrowind but the combat system made things... difficult... The guys remaking the games in the new engines are incredible!
"Skyrim feels like it's combat is up to the level of other games" So spamming the attack button with a paper sword that hits an unresponsive enemy an absurd amount of times is on par with Chivalry? Literally any other game does combat better than TES, it's not it's strong suit (though ESO does a pretty good job with it's more complex combat, more complex than any other modern TES game.)
oblivion is a good game and my first elder scrolls. it had it's flaws but i love it and i laughed my ass of when my little brother made a super op spell :D

I wonder how people nowadays would react to cover art like the one TES Arena had. :)
@@voldlifilm I'm pretty sure he was talking about those entitled SJWs.
Out if all of them I think dagger fell looks the best
atrocious combat aside, Morrowind is the single most immersive RPG experience I've ever had.
FONV is a close second
my character got weaker at level 23. D:
Tbh morrowinds combat didn't feel much different from Skyrim to me
Same here, Jacob. Never had a more immersive experience with the training system and all that good stuff. It was the game that introduced me to the RPG world in '02.
Eh, i prefer Witcher 3, New Vegas and Gothic tbh
Morrowind is by far my favourite!
Same!
DelgaDude I just bought it on steam lol
DelgaDude II
Mine too it’s the best.
mine too
I love oblivion! =D
ALL HAIL MARTIN SEPTIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Panacea lmao that little red headed dude from the arena that always followed you I think his name was adoring fan right?
The Panacea and a better spell system for the next elder scrolls
The Panacea I couldn't take the oblivion npcs seriously because they look like potatoes
hahahaha XD well i never care about that tbh =)
Thank you so much I have requested this video so much you Guys are so awesome I love your channel keep it up!
Morrowind by far takes the cake for me
Even today- I will continue to say that Oblivion was and really still is a gorgeous game.
Oblivion is by far the best Elder Scrolls game
I mean the combat in oblivion was crap and the art style was garbage
@Malachai Carter Personally, I actually really like Skyrim's combat, as it is pretty fast-paced. It's not one of those games where you are just sitting there clicking, you actually have to use hotkeys, go to your inventory, use magic, etc. I also think it's pretty satisfying. Imo of course.
@Malachai Carter they did for the times they were released in. Yeah they havnt aged pretty well but they were fantastic at the time. The last elder scrolls came out in 2011, over a decade ago, ES6 will get with the times.
I used to be an adventurer like you, then I took a sweet roll to the knee that was attached to an arrow
Should have just stuck with the sweet roll.
Morrowind's water looks better than Oblivion's...
Yo
Same pic
F
Whole game is better
Both look ugly
@@jkthegreat5687 irrelevant opinion
Thanks for the "résumé", I liked it. Wonderful souvenirs from Morrowind.
Best story = Oblivion
A remastered Oblivion would be so good.
Nah Morrowind's story was better.
Oblivion is good the way it is. Updated graphics could ruin the nostalgia for it. IDK I'm probably wrong.
Am I one of the few people who can't pick a favorite out of the three main games?
same here as well. I am torn between Morrowind's atmosphere, uniqueness and difficulty VS Oblivion's story and how the events and cinematic (especially that assassination thingy)and how they fight VS Skyrim's dragons and magic, music and graphics and interface.
You mean five.
@Sam Lim *no* *>:C*
The Elder Scrolls will always be the epitome of nostalgia
0:30 maaaan! The music is awesome even to this day.....
still to this day every time the skyrim sound track starts i get a shiver down my back
I'VE BEEN WAITIN FOR THIS VIDEO FOR THE LONGEST TIME
Skyrim was my first experience with Elder Scrolls.
Arena - Classic
Daggerfall - Creative
Morrowind - Groundbreaking
Oblivion - Vastly Improved RPG Feel
Skyrim - Replayable Forever
I love all elder scrolls but Skyrim blew my mind on how fun it is.
Ben Spurrier every since one tamriel you have all the freedom you need. I suggest you play it again it's way better now
Play Morrowind. It has alot more Freedom than Skyrim
I was twelve when I first got excited for elder scrolls and it's the only game studio that I honestly still get excited about, and really just can't wait for it
Great retrospective! Perhaps later on I might write a review for Arena and Daggerfall, but I'm currently enjoying Oblivion.
elder scrolls> fallout
The lore, characters, story etcetera
And b they say u can't make salt from nothing
Eh new Vegas was better than skyrim
No
Fallout 2 and New Vegas : Nice joke
elder scrolls 6 should take place in whole part of tamriel in my opinion
And that would release after 1000 years
The Elder Scrolls, the ultimate Hold my beer in gaming history
The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim is one of the greatest games ever made, hands down.
I fucking LOVE this series of games, Bethesda, this video and you guys. I sat here smiling like a little girl and whispering oohs and aaahs watching all my favourite games and lore pass by. Thank you so much
Finding a magic item in skyrim: "Oh another fire sword of generic style that i will never use."
Finding a magic item in morrowind: "What? a right hand glove that can shoot fireballs/give me levitation/water walking/invisibility/heals me/etc/etc?! Wow this is a usfull trinket that actually feels like something more then gold in the form of items."
Factions in Skyrim: "So yea you did like 5 quests and now you are the faction leader! yey! Oh nothing have really changed and you will never really feel like you are part of anything"
Factions in Morrowind: "Ok so you have now become one of the leaders of faction x after spending a long time claiming the ranks.
I honestly can't wait for ES6 I look up leaked rumors like every week.
I love how arguably the most icnonic RPG series was made based on a bet. 😂
that's the video I wanted from you for so long
You know it will be a quality video when Gameranx does Elder Scrolls!
I hope corona virus doesn’t stop elder scrolls six form being released
That would be sad
i guess some of the staff are working from their homes
Elder Scrolls VI isn't even in full development, it's years away still.
Starfield is their next big game and will either release this year or 2021.
It may delay Skyrim from being released a few more times. New elder scrolls game they don't care about
Skyrim is a classless game? More like a stealth archer simulator :D
kosimiki
Why everybody play as stealth archer?
I just start playing (lvl.20) and i don't use sneak or archer
my current save is one where i used heavy steel armor and a steel battleaxe, all of witch i forged and enchanted myself and then spent way too much time spamming my forge skill with the iron dagger trick until I could make dwemer stuff, then upgraded my entire setup to dwemer.
Haha, I love the mental gymnastics people use spin Skyrim's dumbing down into a positive thing.
And their biggest arguement is "nostalga"
Thank fuck for mods
Skyrim was just my favorite game out of all of them. Just the style and how advanced it was for its time is just amazing and it's a great game
Oblivion>Skyrim
Daggerful (subjectively) = Morrowind (objectively and subjectively)>Oblivion>Arena>Skyrim
I think you got it twisted
love oblivion but i wouldnt call that a "voice cast". that was like 6 people dong the same voices over and over for every NPC. with the exception of the 1 or two famous actors that were in it for 5 seconds
Small but a cast non the less
God damn Sean Bean was in it
Oblivions ai was the best thing ever to come to the elder scrolls.
I love you falcon. I subbed for you. Not the other guys
Sup mah redguards?!
Huzufu N'wahs*
Sup brother. We know dem other factions be hatin' but we still de strongest worriers. C'mon at us bruh.
would it be rigga's?
We wuz redguards.
zum Khajiit believes regions cannot be possesed by a race. Look at Elsweyr,
f#%&ing elves everywhere.
Fav: Skyrim.
Best Story: Oblivion
Memorable Characters: All of them but mainly Morrowind and up.
Best story definitely morrowind
Oblivious Kid best story and skill system in a RPG oblivion
Skyrim:throw it all out and do whatever the f*** you want but its like super easy to over power
Oblivion's story is extremely weak. It butchers the oblivion crisis, which is one of the most impactful events for centuries in the lore. Most of the story is just "get amulet of kings" then "save world from daedra".
Best Story: Oblivion - most definitely
They laugh at todd Howard for wanting to make RPGS
Todd Howard: in 2019 whos laughing now?😂
2020: *everyone laughs at Todd Howard*
Todd Howard was not a Part of Bethesda till they made Redguard
Man, I wish I could go back and play Oblivion again for the first time. My fondest gaming memories for sure.
Co-Op + Thu'ums = Trolling players with Unrelenting Force
vernon col wouldn't work since all of these games are in different time periods so they would have to make completely different plots
vernon col facts
U want fries with that too?
can't wait for skyrim 2
Skyrim 2? You mean Elder Scroll 6.. you filthy console peasant.
Giorgio Polara what?the fuck did you just say...
Skyrim 2 no elder scrolls 6 and it will be set in another region
yall triggered
Giorgio Polara lol then you’ll be waiting forever cos it’s never coming out
Morrowind: Levitate
Oblivion: No Levitate
Skyrim: No Levtitate
"evolution"
@Urayis wish l opinions.
"Skyrim feels like it's combat is up to the level of other games"
So spamming the attack button with a paper sword that hits an unresponsive enemy an absurd amount of times is on par with Chivalry? Literally any other game does combat better than TES, it's not it's strong suit (though ESO does a pretty good job with it's more complex combat, more complex than any other modern TES game.)
TheMCJarhead but there is nome moderd tes game
Skyrim os last console generation
Oblivion has the best combat of all the TES games
my favorites are Oblivion, Morrovind, DaggerFall
My favorite Elder Scrolls game is Oblivion
oblivion is a good game and my first elder scrolls. it had it's flaws but i love it and i laughed my ass of when my little brother made a super op spell :D
@@GambitLP MINE IS ESO
The Elder Scrolls is the series that truly got me hooked on gaming! Morrowind was so frikkin ahead of it's time and so fun,i played for at least 3 years regularly. I still play Skyrim damn near daily if not weekly, and can't wait for the next installment!! I also love the Fallout games, which is weird cuz i don't usually like shooters. Being from Bethesda, and the backstory, lore, humor, easter eggs,etc...gotta love em😁
I personally love Oblivion the most it's my favorite game by far I just enjoy everything about it
