    Tim, I noticed a few thing and wondered or you would be having special reasons for doing things this way. you did not do Configuration, mileage adjustment and Key ID's
    Last time I did this I also took the key ID's and did not need to program the key again? Can't recall I did configuration and would be wise not to fill that one in?

      You are correct... I have done the same... one I had real issues with, for some reason when I put in the key data, it didn't like it and wouldn't see the key when put in the antenna.. put the other keys in and they worked fine... After putting the other keys in, I used the key programming and did the just add another key and add to immo data.. It wrote the same data I was trying to input, but this time it worked... and, this video was 3 years ago, we have actually progressed a little in that time...

  • @hsmautoservice158

    Tim , question, this one is easy, how about the VDO version (1K Golf V) - if no key is present you cannot read the immo data on the replacement cluster to change it (cannot enter boot mode message). Opening the cluster also presents itself a real challenge (to get to the eeprom)?

      @@timtracy9442 thnx for answering, This was Micronas, 2004/2005 Golf 5. Reading new dash to replace immo data no go since it says 'no working key' . Opened it (split back from front) and read eeprom with VVDI Prog, put it in service mode, flashed old data back and then read the data by OBD... and was able to change to data from car / adapt it to car immo.

    Hi Tim there is any chance to read the eeprom to a cluster and select the immo data from there and put it in another one for example from minidot to a maxidot without the need of the fvdi tool

    • @MauroZagor
      @MauroZagor 4 года назад

      It is not possible / it does not make sense to do it. The code of the eeprom which manages a maxidot with a full display (e.g. 1K0 920 874) is different from that which manages a minidot with a half display (e.g. 1K0 920 864). In other words, their dumps are not interchangeable.

    Hi Tim! After I unsuccessfully tried to learn new key trough "key learning" I've got a massage is "Immobilizer adjustment failure" and blinking yellow sign ( key-car) in a dash. Car is still running but I can't erase this message with VCDS and abrities. Letta 06, MK5. How to deal with this trouble?

    • @timtracy9442
      @timtracy9442  6 лет назад

      is this a new body style jetta, or a 2005 jetta that was reistered in 2006??? 2005.5 is the transition date... Did you pre program a key and make it a dealer key? If not, that is the first thing to do... also, does the ECU and the cluster have the same VIN?

    • @roygrey4231
      @roygrey4231 6 лет назад

      Hi! Yes, it's a new body, manufactured date is 06,06. Instrument cluster parts number started from 1K0, rest of number I'll read in my shop, I don't have tools at my home.
      No, I'm not started to make a dealer key, my steps: key learning - standard mode - make one more key.
      I didn't connect programmer to main module, why I've got this error.
      Abrities tried to program but can't found programmer and return in main menu.
      I think why I've got error message.
      Anyway, how to cope this error?
      Replace instrument cluster?

    A lot of times I read vag ecu, like Benzin seimens or Bosch, and it tills me to wait for security access, while keep ignition on. Any input on this situation?. Sometimes I wait one hour and can't get access via obd....

    • @timtracy9442
      @timtracy9442  2 года назад

      I have only had it access the ECU a few times in the car when it is either a new/used ECU in the car, or when you are trying to access the ECU for CS during key programming with AKL.. Most VAG cars after 2005.5 have a seperate gateway, when it sees that you are trying to read data from the ECU and you don't have a working key, or that the ECU is from a different vehicle, it limits communication.. Best bet is to pull ECU and read on the bench... I hate it when the program says, waiting for security access.. I give up and try a different method then...

    Hey Tim, I purchased an SVCI Abrites Commander 2019 tool which should be coming in the mail shortly. I plan to clone the cluster on my 2009 MK5 Jetta Midline Dashboard to a 2009 VW GTI Highline Dashboard. Do you have any updated videos on what you mentioned you've progressed on?

    • @timtracy9442
      @timtracy9442  2 года назад +1

      You do realize that what you bought is a chinese clone of an expensive tool??? Not trying to be a dick, but you get what you pay for... I would read data from the original, then try and write to the new/used cluster.. just remember, the 06-08 clusters are micronas, whereas the 2009 clusters are going to be NEC.. if you don't have a working key for the new/used cluster, you are going to either eprom, or get an NEC cluster cable to be able to get it into service mode.... take a look at this vid, it is more of what you are going to encounter... ruclips.net/video/oAK_z9hQiqg/видео.html good luck...

Can I ask why you are changing out the cluster??

      @@timtracy9442 They are both big plugs, my 2009 has a black plug. I think start in 2010 the jettas have that blue plug you are referring to. I'm hoping in the future if I can get this cluster swap to work I'd try with a white MFD cluster which I know has those blue plugs. I'm changing out the cluster since my current is a mid-line (half screen with no customization) to a GTI which is a full high line cluster that will show fuel, radio, nav, etc.

I read the file of 24c32 and It shows 2 keys programmed to immo which came with car.when I look at key learning all the box are no,seems to be a problem with adaption.Even tried used clocks with this immo but same problem.

      Have you looked at the ECU??? If the immo in the cluster doesn't get data back from ECU, it will act just like keys are not programmed... Also, after 2005.5 all these cars have a seperate gateway, is it OK? Without a scan showing what each module is doing, it's hard to do much except throw out ideas... I have had 3 cras in the last month with what the garage thought were immo problems that turned out to be mice chewing on wires... Good luck...

      Thanks for getting back to me Tim,Engine ecu seems ok getting data back just shows key signal fault.I found that water had got into the gateway controller connector, Looks like this has caused the problem.It seems to be a immo data issue, I swopped the data into another set clocks and got the same problem even on the bench setup.Could I send you the immo file and scan to look at.

      Sure, not sure if I can fix anything... When you look at the cluster, does it have the same vin, CS, pin, and MAC as the ECU??? As long as those are the same, it should start... Did the gateway get replaced? and was it coded correctly?? What is the immo status of the cluster??? I have had a couple after dinking around with them, I had to leave the key on overnight.... tim@tracylockandkey.com

This was a micronas cluster, and basically we still do them the same.. now I read the data from the cluster and do a snippet (screenshot) then save it and then put the new/used cluster in the car and manually change the immo data.. And if you are wondering why I do it manually, it is because there are fifty million clusters out there that have the same part number, but different internals... VW put out the clusters for bid, lowest bid made a batch, then they bid again... I have read and saved the data and then just wrote that dat to a new/used cluster, and then the cluster is dark.... It is much easier to change the data manually and the reboot the cluster.. it hasn't failed me yet...
