- The 7th edition of The World Electronic Music Awards will take place in Las Vegas (Dates will be announced Shortly). A two-hour primetime TV show will be broadcast in 120 territories worldwide. The key award categories are Artist of The Year in Europe, Asia, North America, and World Artist of The Year. The live show will feature international superstars from cinema, TV, and social media, with the world’s biggest DJs and Artists collaborating and showcasing the best tracks of the year during the two-hour live show. The worldwide livestream will feature behind the scenes, red carpet, interviews, and post show reviews.
The first World Electronic Music Awards, then known as The Dancestar Awards were launched on a grand scale in the year 2000 at Alexander Palace, London with over 5,000 industry attendees and 21 TV Cameras capturing every angle. Certainly, nothing like it had been done before in the Electronic Music space.
The show continued to expand annually and in 2002, Dancestar was also launched in Miami during The Winter Music Conference, taking over six blocks of sand on Miami Beach. In all, six Dancestar shows were staged between 2000 and 2004 on both sides of the Atlantic with Dancestar USA 2004 credited as the most widely televised Electronic Music event in history, broadcast in over 50 countries to an estimated 600 million households.
The TV shows were hosted by superstar DJs and Hollywood Stars; Boy George, Roger Sanchez, Erick Morillo, Juliette Lewis, Tess Daly, Rosalyn Sanchez, and Carmen Electra.
Dancestar featured Live Performances from; ATB, Fragma Ft. Coco, Chicane Ft. Bryan Adams, P. Diddy Ft. lol Marta who sang it on CD was banned from singing it and they hired a model to lip sync it apparently. Then later a live singer Idk if this was were the 3rd lady who started singing it live came in. I read they even rerecorded it without Marta apparently . So sad. She diddn't get the credit she deserved or the chance to sing her top ten hit live. OK she didn't write it. Idk which lady this is. However it sounds just just like the CD and we had it on repeat for all the 00s . So I think they turned the mic on for her to talk and she lipped the words. Maybe she sang live however whatever its not legit because she isn't on the CD and this is so close I don't think she could mimic the voice. The mic is close to her mouth you'd hear her breathing if it was live too and the tone of the speaking isn't the same.
This was when music was music not the rubbish now 2024 music is killing the vibe

GREAT CLIP! It amazes me how much difference there is in music taste in the USA compared to Belgium/France/England etc. The crowd loves it but here in the USA I'm not so sure it would go over well, at least not to the majority. Good chorography too!

Not making a distinction between talent but originally Marsha was the featured singer but she left due to creative differences I think, and they replaced her with Annemie Coenen, who you see up there. Later on the creative team decided to market her as a solo performer under the name AnnaGrace,
