      I was thinking the same thing. Eminem has so much respect for Hip Hop and veteran Hip Hop artists. It's a shame that no matter how skilled he is or how many thanks he gives, he will continue to be shaded because he's a white guy in a black dominated field. Like him or not, he's a great lyricist.

Yall prop him up so high that yall claim the GOAT list is just em with a bullet and no one comes close which is genuinely absurd.

People started to make up lies and crazy rumors based on nothing precisely because after Thriller and Bad, people started to get jealous + people love a good "falling out" story. I'm not in any way saying he was perfect, just that many lies were told about him.
      And, although he did say that when children fell asleep in his bed, he didn't remove them out wake them up and just slept next to them (which is a valid behavior to criticize, of course) the FBI never found a single thing to corroborate any of the allegations made against MJ, he was cleared during his trial and the allegations made during the Leaving Neverland "documentary" were debunked. Like a lot have mentioned, he's not for everyone, love him or hate him, you can't deny his insane writing ability, hard work, dedication to his craft, the body of work he's made, the contributions he's made to his City, his peers, and the ones around him. He's got 11 studio albums, 2 compilation albums and 1 ep, plus numerus cameos/guest spot features on tracks ranging from Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kayne West, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, DMX, Busta Rhymes, 50 cent, Logic, Bruno Mars etc. Considering the caliber of people he's worked with that could of just said no or picked someone else, instead they asked for him says a lot. Aside from albums, his movie 8 mile got him an Oscar and a Grammy, he introduced entire generations of kids to freestyle Rap, Rap battles, and the lyrical skill needed to win.
    In my opinion, if Eminem was black, he would of been the next 2pac. His journey in music could of actually been easier for him if he was black. He wouldn't of had to work as hard/prove himself that he belongs there, because he would of blended in rather then sticking out.

    • @jahdjnr5232
      @jahdjnr5232 Год назад

      Deluded, it is easier for him because he is White. He is accepted by Black people because he has the backing of Dr Dre and is automatically accepted by White fans of rap music because he is one of their own, people who would never support Black rappers are eager to support Eminem because he is White. That is not to say that he can't rap but Eminem himself states he wouldn't have the sales figures he does if he wasn't White, you clearly don't understand White privilege. Making out he would be the next 2Pac is a joke, Tupac is a far greater rapper but Tupac is loved because he was a revolutionary and you felt it in his music Eminem is nowhere near those levels and 2Pac isn't even the GOAT. Once you are accepted in certain circles everyone in those circles is open to make music with you plus the fact that black rappers who make music with Eminem increase the chances of their music being brought by White people who would not normally buy their music, that is a significant increase in sales. The raps in 8 Mile were written for him not by him. I don't like him because I don't feel the content he raps about. The fact that White people try to claim he is the best rapper ever when he clearly isn't makes me dislike him even more though.

    • @Messiah_Black
      @Messiah_Black Год назад +1

      No, def. not the next Tupac. If anything, if Em were black he’d be Crooked I. I don’t disagree that Em works hard & is one of the best when it comes to rhyming words & being lyrically creative. But if a black artist was putting out the exact same songs, beats & content, they would be seen as corny & juvenile, and probably never make it out the underground circuit. Keep it a buck: Would “I” be an international superstar & be seen as the GOAT if I put out Music To Be Murdered By? Probably not. I would be placed somewhere between a Canibus & a Tech N9ne.

      @@Messiah_Black Your hypothetical doesn't make sense, because if you put out the exact same songs as someone else, they're not your songs lol. I get what you're saying though. An artist that comes to mind immediately is Hopsin. Here's the thing though; It's not white people holding back black rappers, it's black people holding back black rappers. White people don't look at other people listening to Em or Hopsin and go ''He corny. He's a white people rapper.'' You know who do say shit like that? Black people. Anyway, in Hopsin's case, he made it out of the underground circuit. He may not be as big as Em, but it's not for lack of talent or skill, it's because people discount him. Melle Mel here saying Eminem is only in the top because he's white; But I bet money that if Melle Mel has heard some of Hopsin's songs, he'd still say something like ''Why he tryna sound like Em for? He sound corny'' or some bs like that.

    • @Messiah_Black
      @Messiah_Black Год назад +1

      @@Kushien I think your missing the point. There’s plenty of rappers who’s styles are similar to Eminem’s, yet haven’t had the same crossover, mainstream success or international popularity. So if the “style” is the thing that everyone claims their gravitating to, then why is this not the “standard” where all we see are “super lyrical” artists blowing up? Why are Hopsin & Joyner Lucas not international icons? Why is Crooked I not selling millions of units every time he drops a project? Why isn’t Royce brought up in GOAT conversations? Black People are pretty consistent if you ask me. If you look at who we see as “GOATS” it’s all the same type of artist: Biggie, Jay, Nas, Pac, Rakim… Smooth, charismatic, lyrical but not too “wordy,” raps about street life & issues w/in the black community. It’s not like we omit Em, but overwhelmingly support the Hopsins & Joyner Lucas’s of rap. We don’t really rock w/ them either. So it’s not as much of a “race” thing as most Stan’s think. If Em fans top 5 consisted of Em, Redman, Royce, Crooked I, & Busta Rhymes then you could make the argument that it’s just that stye that’s appealing to them. But y’all got Pac, Nas, & Big in y’all’s Top 5 too…

    • @Kushien
      @Kushien Год назад +7

      @@Messiah_Black You're ignoring a lot of factors and acting as though people only blow up for ''one single reason'', here you're saying it's ''supposedly'' his style, but you're really saying it's his skin color. For one, Eminem came up during a time where there weren't many White rappers. (They existed yes, but not very common, and they were definitely not at Em's skill level.) Also, not everyone had the backing of Dr Dre, having someone like that who's already well-established in the industry goes a LONG way. ''Why are Hopsin & Joyner Lucas not international icons?'' Well, define international icons. They both have fans internationally. Anyway, you completely ignored what I said. ''Why doesnt this person have the same record sales'' BECAUSE BLACK AMERICA AIN'T BUYING THE ALBUMS. ''Black People are pretty consistent if you ask me.'' Yeah, and here you see them in the video defending Em as a GOAT. But you're ignoring that and acting like no black people ever can put Em in their top 5. When you get down to it, it's really just y'all being racist. Saying ''Em is only in the top charts because he's white'' is the equivalent of me saying ''Lebron James is only one of the richest NBA players because he's black''. ''It’s not like we omit Em, but overwhelmingly support the Hopsins & Joyner Lucas’s of rap.'' But you're literally omitting Em by saying he doesn't deserve his success because of his skin color, and that Hopsin and Joyner do, because of their skin color. The world does not revolve around your skin color. ''We don’t really rock w/ them either. So it’s not as much of a “race” thing as most Stan’s think.'' It is, you're just to ignorant to realize the reason why those black artists aren't successful is precisely because black people don't ''really rock w/ them.'' You want Hopsin and Joyner in the top charts? Go buy all their albums, all their singles, itunes, merchandise, etc. Tell all your friends to do the same. No? Then stfu with your racist bullshit lmao.

I love the fact that In hip hop culture they give their flowers to those that paved the way. You see that with different bands across multiple genres of music but nothing like what you see in hip hop and rap. But their is absolutely no denying Eminem's skill with flows, word play, doubles triples, the list goes on and on. Was glad to hear someone say it wouldn't matter what color skin he is he would be right where he is now a legend that has changed the game. I think the rapper that is slept on the most is tech n9ne. Mele Mell is a joke for that bs. Nobody should be hesitant to tell him, he isn't right. Rap aside. You're a man first. You have every right to tell a man, no matter how old they are, if they're wrong or right. Respect goes both ways. You being born before me doesn't mean you have the right to talk down or disrespect me. It just mean you were born first. No one is in control of when they are born. Stop using that as an excuse. Mel can't touch Em, and anyone with half of a brain knows that. It's time to start normalizing putting any man of any age, feet to the fire. It's no different with sports. A white man created basketball and football. It is no secret that both sports have been dominated by black people throughout history. MJ, a black man, is the goat of basketball. Do you mean to tell me we're going to dismiss that, because he's black? Imagine saying "Oh, well the only reason MJ is considered the goat is because he's black. Do you know the outrage black people would spew out, if a white man said that to us? It's very hypocritical.
    Rap and Hip Hop, was created by black people. So now i find it funny that these sour mofos, are mad that a white man, who has always been respectful to the culture, is better than the ones who created it. It's so freaking mind-boggling. I'm a proud black man and I really am sick and tired of mfs using the race card, for every little thing. Judge a man by his actions, character, and talent, not skin color. Mel and anyone else disrespecting that man, need to have 3 seats and stfu. He couldn't compete with Em and win, if he wrote his best battle rap.

    I’m going to address the elephant 🐘 in the room. Eminem for years had to force himself to adapt as a MC. The biggest handicap to a lot of rappers is the N word. Slim adapt himself to utilizing other words to form his rhythms, once it became a habit, he can do it with ease. Most rappers can not with using the N word. Too many rely on it too much in every song just to make a song. So Slim followed the rules of what he is aloud to do and he’s benefiting from that. Plus Eminem can rap about topics that other rapper can not, because it maybe be frowned upon. Look at his advantages and disadvantages then you will understand why he is high up there as a rapper.

    • @inigo9000

      What topic can he rhyme about that others can not? i would think it's more likely the other way around, i really haven't listened to his music after his Marshell Mathers LP so i have no clue about what he raps but i did hear a lot of hate towards him over the years and people calling him a guest so i can imagine there's many topics some people would claim he has no right to speak on.

    He's among the greats indeed, I love his energy, flow and the insanely well composed lyrics to fit his style. Unique like 2PAC but of course very different. Talent, skill and passion shines its own colors, it's art. If any of that 8 mile stuff is even loosely based in history he earned his place in the scene well before selling millions of albums. Having a legend deny him that saying it's thanks to his skin just makes me wonder if he's ever really seen or heard Em.
