    Too bad the French never figured out why Peggy wore that color costume.Her Mother sewed it.

      Hattie M. In all fairness this was 1968, lime green was not at all out of place in 1968 - that was a color people in the fanciest circles wore back then. That was a "mod" color in the US.
      Peggy was sheer perfection. And such grace and modesty. Today skaters are basically just reality stars. Gone is the class and the elegance.
      I think it all started going downhill when they removed the compulsories. Suddenly, anyone raised in a barn could become a figure skater.
      There will never be the golden age of figure skating again.
      But thankfully we have these beautiful documents of what it used to be like.
      This actual film just came out on Blu ray as part of Criterion's "100 years of Olympic history" set. Best $250 I ever spent to have the greats like Peggy (her whole performance uncut) and Jean-Claude Killy immortalized on glorious hi-def Blu-ray.
