listen to each time she hits it on her live performances, as she's hitting it, quickly skip to the beginning studio version when she hits it. She doesn't hit that high of a note, she has to lower it by a pitch or two cuz its so damn high.
yesss me too I mean sometimes runs come naturally for me other times I won't do them hey I could email you my voice recordings through email I really like to belt I was made for it tell me what you think?

+MrSkinnyJeanz3 i dont fucking care if she fucking brakes her voice and fucking dies im just here for here voice. If she screams it who the fuck cares its like a person pronounced yor name wrong and you just leave it becoz its tiring.

Yes there's a difference but keep in mind traveling with restless nights, tours, appearances, etc... I'm not surprised she changed the notes to what's probably comfortable to her. Doing this so often can strain a person's vocal chords and possibly be sick since her immune system is/will be low.
That sort of scratchiness this note gets and the slight out-of-control feeling it has is not a good sign. 1:33 is the best one out of all of these because she stayed steady and rode through it without letting go of it. I hope she doesn't do this note every time she sings, though, because I can see this tearing her voice to shreds.
Mehmeh Meh that's not true. her placement is rather weak when it comes to belts, this is why she's always a lot more agile and comfortable with her head voice and melismas and riffs
I was expecting her to hit a G#5 on Ellen but it's okay that she keep it safe and still lowered a semitone as usual, she killed the most important performance of this song... yet!
Andrew Brown I didn't mean attempt in a bad way. She lowers the key every time she performs it live. She hasn't hit the original note G#5 live yet. She hit some good G5's and F#5's though.
+Rodney Mills excellent way of explaining it but I guarantee it, she is going to be one of the next singers to take some time off because her vocal cords are damaged.
Toricorn quite the contrary. singing hurts until you keep relaxing to make sure it doesn't, or, keep singing in your comfortable range. tori's belts have been quite hard to hear, and see tbh, she's got to place better.
harmony Whistle and belts are different registers... right? Belts are your chest voice (I'm assuming, cos I'm not experienced at all) and whistles are your head voice/upper register. I'm not too sure tho :/
don't take her as an inspiration for belts please, that's not at all her area of expertise. she's pulled down the note to an g5 or f#5 in most but is straining those as well. her control of her head voice, riffs, melismas is almost unparalleled, but her belts need a lot of correction before she sets it in as a bad habit.
Ydiza MusicLovah that's not technically a run- it's a high note, which are normally a lot harder, so I wouldn't feel so bad about it haha- it's easy to learn if you want to
***** she was singing from the back of her throat, rather than through her diaphragm. This means that your vocal chords rub together without much lubrication, which causes callous, otherwise known as vocal nodules.
satisfying... every time I heard this song I would literally stop and wait for the "OOHHHHH!!! YEAH HE IH YEAH YEAH YEAH IH IH YEAH HEY IH YEAH HEY YEAH~" lol
When you lower the key of a song it's still hard that says A LOT. Tori Kelly is a powerhouse that really takes care of her voice. And now she is able to do this song with so much more ease, that she's now adding multiple G5s to the run (think Ari's live version of the Bang Bang climax)
Yes, she lowered the key. It's a G5 in most of the live performances and a F#5 in the most recent performances. I think it's because for an acoustic performance, it's hard to do a G#5. But, i guess that she really will do that note when she perform on stage, with the band and the whole package of a live performance. (Sorry for my english, i'm brazilian).
Hey, I wanna do a minute vocal range but I don't know about many 4th octave long notes, maybe you can help me, and I wanna know what do you think are her best head voice notes, they can be exclamations if they're still head voice or falsetto if it sounds clean :PObviously I will use all the F#5-G#5s from here but I'm not sure if using the F#5 at 1:46 or 2:05, I guess the first one cause the audio is clearer
***** Except the middle notes I only need a C6 and if posible a less airy A5.The other 6th octave notes are in the improvised and treasure whistles but any exclamation could be used if it's better than the other notes.
I really wanna hear her hit the original high note live. Must be at the top of her range for chest voice or mix or something so it's more difficult. :[[
The title said she "attempts"... No, love... She killed it.. EVERY. DANG. TIME! 😍💜👍🙈👑
Joanna Symonds thanks a thousand
I know right haha
listen to each time she hits it on her live performances, as she's hitting it, quickly skip to the beginning studio version when she hits it. She doesn't hit that high of a note, she has to lower it by a pitch or two cuz its so damn high.
Joanna Symonds Don't get so triggered, the title is right. Just because she "killed it" everytime doesn't mean she wasn't attempting it....
FinishMe true but still that is amazing
I just cringed at the thought of me even attempting.
same 😂
Omg same 😭
vvvvvvvv same
yesss me too I mean sometimes runs come naturally for me other times I won't do them hey I could email you my voice recordings through email I really like to belt I was made for it tell me what you think?
SAME
Her runs are out of this world!😦🙌
AJillion96 IKR !
She sings in a key half step lower than the studio version when shes doing it live but it does sound incredible either way like props to that omf
AMEN
wow do you have perfect pitch? I can hear it is lower, but can't hear how much.
"attempt" more like killed it
listen to each time she hits it on her live performances, as she's hitting it, quickly skip to the beginning studio version when she hits it. She doesn't hit that high of a note, she has to lower it by a pitch or two cuz its so damn high.
Man, her riffs are so clear... It's seems like it's coming out of a piano.
the birchbox soho G5>>>>
generally sounds better hitting the F#5 when she lowers it a full note rather than semitone
The one at birchbox soho is definitely her best one. It sounded the clearest and the most clean.
+MrSkinnyJeanz3 i dont fucking care if she fucking brakes her voice and fucking dies im just here for here voice. If she screams it who the fuck cares its like a person pronounced yor name wrong and you just leave it becoz its tiring.
and hits it everytime👌im done

I didn't know I needed this in my life till now
it always sounds better when she is standing
standing gives better breath control
Yes there's a difference but keep in mind traveling with restless nights, tours, appearances, etc... I'm not surprised she changed the notes to what's probably comfortable to her. Doing this so often can strain a person's vocal chords and possibly be sick since her immune system is/will be low.

she is using a rather healthier technique that won't damage to her vocal much but those sounds happen since her voice already is raspy
I know right ?! I hope she doesn't lose her voice.
Denimso like me lol
Denimso not at all. she doesn't have a raspy voice at all. quite the contrary, she has a shrill, clear voice throughout
Mehmeh Meh that's not true. her placement is rather weak when it comes to belts, this is why she's always a lot more agile and comfortable with her head voice and melismas and riffs
her ability to recreate it so perfectly every time is awesome
I was expecting her to hit a G#5 on Ellen but it's okay that she keep it safe and still lowered a semitone as usual, she killed the most important performance of this song... yet!
She sings G natural and sometimes F#, not really G# but regardless she's absolutely amazing and talented and I love her voice
Who else could listen to this for hours
She didn't attempt nothing. She killed it.
i want listen to this on repeat for the rest of my life
She seemed to it them all to me.what do you mean attempt
Andrew Brown I didn't mean attempt in a bad way. She lowers the key every time she performs it live. She hasn't hit the original note G#5 live yet. She hit some good G5's and F#5's though.

+daiell09 it is common practice to lower the key of a song that is in the top end of the artists range during a rigorous tour.
Singing doesn't hurt Tori
Toricorn quite the contrary. singing hurts until you keep relaxing to make sure it doesn't, or, keep singing in your comfortable range. tori's belts have been quite hard to hear, and see tbh, she's got to place better.
She has a remarkable voice, just so natural... Even if she isn't reaching the note she just incorporates it into a ridiculous run.
I could literally listen to this forever!!!!!!
The fact she has the most ADORABLE voice crack in the same spot every time gives me life
Woow... I can sing whistle notes but I cannot belt like that.. :'(
harmony
Practice makes perfect. ^^
harmony
Also I am just learning to hit whistle notes but I'm pretty good for a beginner.
harmony Whistle and belts are different registers... right? Belts are your chest voice (I'm assuming, cos I'm not experienced at all) and whistles are your head voice/upper register. I'm not too sure tho :/

tori kelly voices is an all-times goal!!! she killed every high note she tries ans0d shes the best!!♡
"attempts" "Attempts" "ATTEMPTS?!"
more like kills it
Say this in Captain Holt's "bone" super intense lines and we're good.
Her runs though O_O
I did try to do her runs in Dear No One and it was really hard for me coz I don't naturally do runs when I sing.
Ydiza MusicLovah Which runs?
Uh, most of it. For me, the hardest is "So if you're out there..." and it goes really high. I think that is after the bridge part.
Ydiza MusicLovah that's not technically a run- it's a high note, which are normally a lot harder, so I wouldn't feel so bad about it haha- it's easy to learn if you want to
I meant after that high notes, that "woah woah ah ah" something.. hahaha
Ydiza MusicLovah just sing the notes slower, then speed up- Natalie Weiss on RUclips is a great help with runs
she always slays 😍😍😭
attempt? more like slayed
3 days and so deep in love with this girl
Attempted? More like Succeded!
She kills it every single time. What a queen.
I can't stop watching this
It's higher in the studio but I still love it😍😍😍
Hope this isn't damaging her vocal range cause she pulls that note off a lot . Adele was damaged for doing stuff like this right ?
Adele's voice was damaged from doing it unhealthily
***** Her voice was damaged from unhealthy technique. Like I said...
***** she was singing from the back of her throat, rather than through her diaphragm. This means that your vocal chords rub together without much lubrication, which causes callous, otherwise known as vocal nodules.
You can tell it's coming from her diaphragm not her throat
Jai Grant yeah one thing that makes her great is she has a really good support and she has a good mix
I can listen to this part all day!! 😍👌🏽
Every FRIKEN time and she still sings better than 98% of artists out these days
SHE IS KILLING IT EVERY SINGLE TIME HOW IS SHE HUMAN
Kills it! Every. Single. Time. 😍😍
satisfying... every time I heard this song I would literally stop and wait for the "OOHHHHH!!! YEAH HE IH YEAH YEAH YEAH IH IH YEAH HEY IH YEAH HEY YEAH~" lol
LOL LOOK AT THE DRUMMER'S FACE AT 0:49. I CANT STOP LAUGHING
Mr.4Ever Epic Channel wtf
Killed it every time
GOOSEBUMPS!!! 😍😍
She's ridiculous. Her control is just 😍. My favorites are 101.5 Phoenix and Birch Box Soho
truuu
her and ariana grande are the only singers that never failed a live performance to my knowledge in my opinion
Some of these G#5's are G5's... but she still killed
All of them are F#5s or flat G5s
Attempts is the wrong word hun she slayed it every fucking time
i could watch this everyday but i have school what the f
Gets better and better! 👏
I could watch this for the rest of my life
Attempt?!!! 😂 Live version and studio version slayed!
It must feel amazing to be able to hit all the notes in that riff 😍
0:22 was the best in my opinion
what do you mean by attempt?? she slayed it! 😍😍😍😘
Ikr?! 😍
I always love her live performance and still same think. She is good at the live performance than studio version.
When you lower the key of a song it's still hard that says A LOT. Tori Kelly is a powerhouse that really takes care of her voice. And now she is able to do this song with so much more ease, that she's now adding multiple G5s to the run (think Ari's live version of the Bang Bang climax)
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE TORI KELLY 😍😍❤️💙💙💛💜
Amazing!!!!!! Sang girl!!!!!!!!!!
this chick is the bomb
DAMMMMB!!!!!!!
luv you
tori kelly
Dude she nailed it every single time get rid of that attempted she SLAYED XD
1:29 😍😍😍😍😍
MY EARS, OMG!!!!!😨😨😨😨😨😨😨 TORI IS SO AMAZING!!!!💎💎💎💎💖💖
tori kelly is ❤
MIND BLOWN!!!!!!!!!
omg this is amazing! all I can hit right now is probably a Eb5 *cries*
I can only belt an F5 if I'm lucky :(
Yassss !! Tori kelly slayss
Omg those runs tho 😆😆😆😆
Sounds amazing, but has she ever hit the original studio version G#5? Cuz I know she lowers it a semitone and a full note.
YES BABY SLAYYYYYY OMGG 😍😍😍😍
This is to prove how many times she has to sing this song
what do you mean "attemps"?!!! she's smashing it and we all love her! what world r u livin in if u think TK ain't Queen?!
She is a beast!
attempt? she slayed everytime
She does it so effortlessly the fuck
it's not 'til you lower the speed to 0.5 that you realize how fast she's going lol
I tried this note once...my voice had never cracked that much before I did that note
tori running me over with dem riffs omg LOVE U GURL 😍❤💕 btw I think you don't know what the meaning of "attempt" is omg pls change it to "slays"
i love you, Tori!!!!!!
For me her best version of that is when she did the sing for your suffer with james corden. She totally kills it! (btw im just using my dad's account)
Her runs are on point they sound auto tuned (in a good way) and I’m triggered 😍😍😍
I think I've never heard her sing off pitch. And I've seen like every single live video from her
Can you also provide the attempted notes as well? It seems she lowered the key in some of the recordings
These are all of the performances that she has done live as far.
Ericles Guilherme
You're English is really good!
Hey, thanks! C Torr!
I loved the one on Elvis Duran at 0:58
+Tino Nikander Nope, I changed my mind: at 2:18 is the best ^_^

I've seen a lot of the actual videos of the clips shown here, and the audio quality of this video is a lot less than the actual videos
Damn if I could do that I'd never shut up lmao
I really wanna hear her hit the original high note live. Must be at the top of her range for chest voice or mix or something so it's more difficult. :[[
My throat hurts just watching these, cuz I know if I tried to do this my voice would shrivel up and die right then and there
*looks around*...... me? oh, heyy 👋
B4 then D5 then peaking at G#5
0:04 eargasm
I made an attempt... Now I'm speaking with my hands..
DAMN!!!
She lowers the key so she doesn't stress out her voice because she has to sing it multiple times.
The video literally started to buffer at 0:5 I'm so pressed
i havent take a singin lesson and i almost get it
my voice always just cracks
and now i know how to do it lol
ITS A F#5 NOT A G#5 :D love love her
it changes note since we can't hit the same note everyting again and again
my fav was 0.54
There’s G#5 in this video actually?
my fav was 00.54
She reminds me so much of Shoshona bean
