    Anyone ever notice if you have multiple symptoms you tell your doctor you have, they all don’t happen at the same time? Like if one is gone, the other appears? That’s me, I feel dizzy I have some sort of tumor in my brain, but when the dizziness goes away, my chest hurts and something is wrong with my heart. And vise versa. But they never happen at the same time. Leg pain a blood clot. So many tests and procedures that are normal and good looking blood work, yet I still feel as if they missed something. This is no way to live, but watching this gave me hope that I can beat this or cope. Thank you and god bless❤️🙏

    I have been suffering with hypochondria since highschool. From having worms living inside me, to brain tumors, hernias, lymphoma, enlarged lymnodes and now liver failure cause I’m scared cause I drank too much. Googling the internet and such. Wanna know what’s scary about being a hypochondriac ?
    There is literally genuine physical symptoms… then when you go get checked, nothing..

    This has made me feel like I'm not alone! I had a flash in my eye (ocular migraine) in may and it set of my whole health anxiety, believing I had a brain tumour, read the symptoms of it online and was checking the palms of my hands to make sure they wasn't turning blue and I too believed that I couldn't swallow food because I would feel like I'm choking (lump in the throat) I lost 3 stone in weight as I was only eating 300 calories a day max! Ended up with pnuemonia from a cold Because I had nothing to fight it off Ive had severe anxiety for months now I felt like I was alone and going completely mad but watching your video has reassured me that I'm not the only one who has "the throat monster" and thankfully that symptom has eased much better but still feel brain foggy and as if my surroundings are odd! Would be good if you put a video up about the sensations you get when you have a flare up of health anxiety! Stay strong and thank you for this video and for making me feel like I'm not alone 💗xxxx

      Daphne S omg thank you so much I wish we didn't have to deal with this but it's reassuring I'm not the only one who thinks obsessively about my health! Pain in my left arm I start thinking I'm gonna have a heart attack any minute, brain feels foggy and I instantly think of the worst case scenarios like a stroke or a blood clot! My fiancé says I'm like a doctor because I've googled every possible illness and all the symptoms because of it it's ruined most of my year this year it's horrendous I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy! We just have to keep strong and carry on fighting this horrendous mental illness! I had a MRI 2 months ago because I generally thought I had a brain tumour and I felt like a idiot when the test results came back normal and now I'm pretty much embarrassed to go the doctors incase they think I'm a time waster! Luckily once I realised I wasn't suffering from a serious illness it funnily enough all disappeared although every day I still fear death and illness but I'm staying strong! Thank you so much and you stay strong too! X

    :( I used to be very spontaneous and independent, Travelling the world, trying new things, foods, diving, caving- you name it. Then I had a low blood sugar attack and my vision went dark, I couldn't see but I had not lost consciousness. I didn't know what was happening and it triggered my first panic attack. Since then I haven't been the same, Afraid of it happening again, feeling my body 24/7 for what could be next. I haven't travelled in years. This is the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with. My nervous system is shot and my mind wont shut up. I can barely get out of the house to get groceries. I want my life back.

      Omg this is exactly what I went through about 4 months ago. I was super stressed and went for a walk at night with my mom and dogs and out of nowhere my vision went completely black and I thought I lost consciousness but I didn’t but I had no idea what was happening I thought I was dying so it sent me into a panic attack and I haven’t been the same since either. I’ve become such a hermit. I refuse to leave my house unless I have to. I would do anything for my life back. I’m sick of being terrified of the same thing happening again.

    Hi Frankie Amelia! Thank you so much for making this video and doing your part to raise awareness of health anxiety. 💚
    Whether you call it health anxiety, hypochondria, or the new classifications (illness anxiety disorder or somatic symptom disorder), it doesn’t change the fact that you WILL overcome this if you make the definite decision to take action and improve your life... just like you have.
    Aside from CBT, you could also look into ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) which is helpful for certain types of thoughts, feelings and sensations. It focuses less on the thought, and more on making room for it in your experience, and letting it go so you can direct your energy toward what’s most important and helpful at any given time. This book does a great job of teaching the principles of ACT: @t
    PLUS, take a look at every aspect of your life and consider what risk factors for anxiety may be present - and create a plan to reduce or eliminate them. Take action, make progress, and be patient.
    I couldn’t be more proud of you, and I hope you’ll update me on how you’re doing. I’m with you, and you’re not alone on your journey to overcome health anxiety!

    Christmas Greetings everyone! 🎄 🌟
    What has helped me is going back to my childhood and making connections, finally realizing the root of the problem. So when I was around 5 I had a minor surgery. My mom told me she was going to take me to a "hotel for children". When I realized that I was in hospital I burst into tears! Years later, I was going to have a party which was called off. I felt sad about it and started crying. My mother didn't like this behavior and told me that I had caused her to go to the doctor because of that. As a result, I feel sth will come up out of the blue I will lose control of. There are times I notice sth on me I have to worry about! I empathize with everyone here but I have promised myself that I am going to heal in this lifetime. Obviously, the new self I am turning into does not want to suffer from health anxiety!.. 🙏

    My heath anxiety started because of a "normal" abnormality in my jaw called a tori. I thought I had oral cancer. Then that transitioned to throat/esophageal cancer because my anxiety gave me silent reflux for like a month and a half, and the lump in the throat. Right now I have leg pain for like three weeks and nothing is helping. I did go to the doctor an he took an x-ray of my hip, but not my leg😒. Said I was fine and gave me pain meds but nothing their not helping. I can't live happily right now I just can't 😭😭😭

    • @carriegrass7603
      @carriegrass7603 6 лет назад +1

      How are you now? I have been bothered by my jaw in the back lately... well it all started off with a bump on my gums on the top, which I went to the dentist for a couple of weeks ago. She said I probably scratched my gums with my toothbrush or something along those lines.. I chose to stress long before that and tell myself that I had an abscess and I did the wrong thing and continuously searched online about what it could be and I read it could be an abscess tooth so I worried and stressed so much and told myself that it was an infection that was going to spread to my brain and my heart. So I tried to cope with the worry ness but then my jaw started to bother me. I thought it was the “abscess tooth” that was spreading, so I stressed and worried more. It got in the way of my school work and I had finals so i had to put it aside which didn’t work so I got worried about it during finals which sucked so bad. So, I went to the dentist again.. yesterday. I told them my jaw in the back was irritating me and that I still have the bump on my gums. They told me it could just be my wisdom teeth coming in.. but of course my brain tells me that’s not what it is and that something is wrong, which I need to stop doing. My main problem at the moment is my whole mouth and my oral health. I am constantly looking in the mirror with a flashlight looking to see what’s there and right now I see that the roof of my mouth is lighter than rest on the sides and in the middle. I of course have stressed and looked up oral cancer, which is literally almost impossible that I could have. I am 14, it does not run in my family, it’s more common in men, it also is caused mostly by alcohol and smoking which I do not do and never have done. Now I feel that there is something wrong with my throat.. (somewhat sore, lump/full feeling, constant throat clearing). The hard part for me is I’m young and I have no where to go.. I talk to friends but they don’t understand, I talk to family but I am told it’s all normal. I freak out and stress. I really am curious to see what you found out.

    • @giselleperaza5918
      @giselleperaza5918 6 лет назад

      carrie grass I was obsessed with my oral health too for a good three months, always checking and taking pictures to keep track of changes. The bump I mentioned was/is on the inside of my lower jaw. It is a hard bump and like I mentioned it's a mandibular tori, a fancy word for an extra bump of bone, it's benign. And during the three months I was focused on my mouth and like you feared oral cancer my anxiety was causing me to get loads of mouth sores one after the other, and I was positive I had oral cancer too. About after the first month of my anguish I started to feel a lump in my throat too and like a tickle feeling. My excessive anxiety trigger me to have silent reflux, when small amounts of stomach acid comes up your throat and causes some irritation. Some people just get a cough, and the acid makes some of the muscles in your throat tight en making it feel like you have a lump. Anxiety on its own can also make you feel like you have a lump in your throat. Then I started to look into what that could be and I was then scared of throat or esophageal cancer. So I went to the hospital and they refered me to an ear nose and throat doctor who put a camera up my nose to see my throat and said there was no bump and I had the reflux and that was causing the "soar throat". So he gave me a special diet to help the reflux, no fatty food like cheese milk yogurt fast food, coffe/caffeine, chocolate, nuts, soda/carbonated beverages, spicy food, or citric/sour fruit or vegtables. And to drink as much water as possible and to eat loads of veggies. I did that for a month and it didn't really help. I looked online for reflux friendly foods and recepies. Almond milk helped sooth my throat for a while. That went away when the pain in my leg started I think because my focus shifted and I wasn't thinking about it so much. At this point I chose to get some professional help for my anxiety because even though everyone is saying you are fine you don't feel fine and one thigh after the other keeps poping up and you just don't know what to do. I recommend you go to an ear nose and throat doctor to have your throat checked out for some reassurance that it is OK and maybe you can ask him about the thing on your gums too they may have an idea. And maybe try telling your parents about how you feel and maybe try cbt therapy. It was hard for me to tell my parents too, they thought I was just doing it for attention or because I didn't want to do work/school. But after I cried in front of my mom and told her how I felt she agreed to take me to therapy. Another thing, googling is the worst. When I have an urge to Google something instead of looking for the symptoms alone I type in "can anxiety cause ______" to avoid all the scarry stuff because most likely all you are feeling is due to anxiety. But none the less it doesn't hurt to go to the doctors and ask about it. And if you want I am always here to talk to, I also feel alone because when I try to mention it to people they all just roll their eyes and say get over yourself. My IG is giselle_peraza if you want to talk.

    • @carriegrass7603
      @carriegrass7603 6 лет назад

      Giselle Peraza yes!! I always feel like it’s one thing after another. My mouth, my head, my back, my stomach.. and I hate it. I finally go to get reassurance on one thing and then something else pops up. I have been to the dentist twice, both times they have said the bump on my gum is most likely just The way my gums/enamel is. Even though I get reassured I always dwell on it anyways and I think the worst and I feel stuff that is around the area that I’m scared about but I don’t know if it is from my anxiety. Mostly I worry and then I tell my self “we are all just going to be gone someday anyways so might as well not worry about all of this stuff” and that helps me for a good 5 minutes, and then I worry again. It gets better when I’m with my friends and family. I was at my friends house last week for the whole afternoon and I didn’t think about my gums once! But when I’m alone it bothers me tons and the worst part is when I’m having a great time with my dad and we are eating and then I get this feeling of anxiety rush over me thinking that my gums or my jaw are the cause of a deadly disease and that something is going to happen to me and then I turn from happy to scared and wanting to cry... which makes me feel terrible when my dad is in a great mood and then I am all sad and worrying. So then I just smile and keep talking. I followed you on Instagram mine is ccarrieann.

      Houda Oulimi yeah it is. But it gets a little better, I actually am feeling a load better. I think the biggest thing I have heard is just don't think about it and that's so hard to do. None the less I haven't been thinking about it too much because at times I just can't help it , and I actually feel around 78-85% better. My leg isn't hurting almost at all anymore, I have still gone to the doctor maybe twice more just to check up because it was hurting even with medication. But each time they say I'm fine and I had some x-rays and those came back fine. So I try not to think too much about it, but sometime I start to spiral out of control a little. Just relax and hopefully you will feel better soon, and if you still have questions don't be scared to go to your doctor and say I have anxiety and I'm feeling ______ and I don't know if it's something serious or just my anxiety and I wanted to check it out.
