There is a small hole in the under side of the shock cap. They have to leave a small amount of air in the top of the shock to keep from hydro-locking the shock at full compression. The volume of air can be used to tune how progressive the shock is, similar to using oil height in motorcycle forks. Best thing would be a shock with a piggy back reservoir and bladder.

Too heavy. Had trouble keeping front up for landings.
