@Ryan Weiner From a personal standpoint, it went better than expected with the exception of the final sandbag on the loading medley. My brain stopped working and I couldn't get the bag over the bar. I ended up with second or last place in my division depending on your perspective. The other guy was in a different strength league than I am yet.
I almost hit a 50# Log PR, 130# Yoke PR, did 11 Car Deadlifts (first time), and did 35# bag toss over 11 1/2" (first time). All 2 months from resuming training with a partial tear rotator cuff. I am happy I competed and pushed myself, but still know I have a long way to go. (beat by 6-7 Log Presses, 4-5' on Bag Toss, 100# on Max Yoke, 20 seconds on loading medley, and 8 or so Car Deadlift)

I was down to 240lbs until I had shoulder surgery. I wasn't shredded, but I loved how I looked. I was down to a size 36 in pants, could pop out pull-ups and had a slight v-taper. Now I'm back at 260lbs, moobs and back rolls taking slight shape and wearing a 38 in pants lol. I ended up gaining when I was on medical leave from my surgery and had a few things in life knock me dowm. I also forgot to adjust my calories during my medical leave. After all the stress eating, I'm back to my regular diet. I catch the bus to and from work. My job is also a very physical job. I don't always have the energy or time (catching the bus takes a huge chunk of my time throughout the week) for my workouts, so instead of walking eight minutes to the closest bus stop, I'll make myself walk 35 - 40 minutes to another bus that requires me to walk this MASSIVE hill that takes about 15 minutes to clear. Walking back home isn't so bad. The walk also allows me to reconnect with nature and relax.

As a dietician I'm not going to 100% degree on the statement that "counting macro's is stupid" as it really isn't... but when I do have clients that don't want to count macro's I won't force that kind of dieting on them, but I will calculate their macro's pure for observational reasons so I know what he/she needs and I will ask them to log their food and drink intake so I can monitor and give directions everytime we evaluate their body composition.
For the rest I completely agree that tiny changes can have drastic results and most importantly don't completely change your dietary habits!

Bulk or cut I do supersets and minimise rest times, granted I don't do cardio due to transport and time constraints but I walk at least 20-30 mins a day and an extra 10 on training days. Giant sets are the next upgrade but not so easy in a commercial gym and doing conditioning is a no go. Need to start doing ab work with my upper body days for sure. I keep lower body without supersets with primary movement but I always do rows with the same weight I bench and chinups with presses.

@@BrianAlsruheOfficial watched em all man! Starting to incorporate band abdominal work when I do my bench and rows but I'll no doubt leave it there. It's drastically cut down on my training time and no better feeling than being drenched in sweat! Unfortunately though some of the other accessories are in a completely different area of the gym and at 5pm~ there's just no chance of doing some but I make shit work where I can! Love the content man

Look up Pavels or Dan John's body weight programs that may help. Remember a few months off to let yourself heal won't ruin all your previous gains and most importantly you should look at lifting as a life long activity so healing for a short while now is much better than worsening an injury for the long run.

Even though I started out my fitness journey when I was injured and got them better thanks to Athlean-X, and now I'm more of a fan of Brian, but in my humble opinion, I think we could definitely learn something from anyone, if it's something not to our liking or doesn't suit our taste, leave, don't pick it. If it's something useful, take it and make it yours. This way we won't stuck in this fanboy mentality and easily trapped in black-white perspectives where we could only see either this side or that side. And always remember, train unta- uh, *be nice to each other*
