The father of my best friend when I was a kid came up with that advertising campaign for Ralston-Purina. As a result, he got a job at a top advertising agency in Chicago where he then came up with the "copy" for the Libbys Libbys Libbys on Your Label Label Label campaign jingle. If you were good at advertising you could make a lot of money. I went to visit my friend after they moved to Chicago and they lived in a huge house.
Back when you didn't mind when commercials came on because it was a variety of products ( not just pharmaceutical and car commercials) and they were all entertaining.
These commercials were so popular there was a video game for the Atari called "Chase The Chuckwagon." Imagine playing a video game based on a dog food commercial!
When I was really little, I loved this commercial break, that and the Pillsbury Dough boy getting poked. Seems to me, they came on whenever they showed movies like The Wizard of Oz.
Thank you for the compilation. Loved these commercials along with the Locked in freshness Tupperware where the food had cool locks on them and the Ty d bol man! The world with be a better place if our kiddos had cool commercials with catchy jingles and hooks
I lived in San Diego years ago and was invited to a party by an artist friend. The host was a very pleasant older gentleman named Gene Warren. His place (nice loft near downtown) was decorated with old movie posters and film props. Very cool stuff. Eventually i see an Oscar on his mantle. THIS was interesting, so I go to check it out. It has his name on it. Best Art Direction 1959. The Time Machine. HOLY SHIT! I then corner him and ask him all sorts of Hollywood questions and he was very gracious and answer each and all. Apart from his art direction Oscar, he had been a writer, producer, director, etc. etc. for several decades. I perked up when I discovered he was a director, producer, etc. for Syd & Marty Krofft’s 70’s heyday. Reading into his wiki entry, he was the director, model maker/animator and designer for this series of dog food commercials. When I met him he was semi retired with his son taking over the family business and was equally adept at all manner of behind the camera film and TV production as well.
Every single time I saw these commercials I'd laugh nonstop the whole time, u hear dude lil voice, u wanna see what happen if a dog caught that wagon & tipped it over, to this day it still tickle me like crazy
That commercial used to scare me when I was a little kid! I'd have nightmares about chuck wagons with that creepy music coming out of my TV to get me!!!!!!

I loved those commercials back then, and had honestly forgotten about Chuckwagon dog food.
Imagine what would happen if the dog caught those miniature horses and that tiny man. Violence would happen.

You can't be semi-autistic. Either you are or you aren't.

all the people who came here to check for the family guy reference
"meat-like chunks" 🤣
The second pup is Scruffy from the show The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. He was a cutie.
Whatever happened to Chuck wagon? Why did they stop making it?
Mostly Corn... which Dog cannot digest.
This dog food was a terrible diet for dogs. Cute commercials though
Great

Haha family guy
Who decided this tasted great and how did they decide?
👍🏻
Do they still sell this dog food??
Let's talk about what the horse-driving man did in life after his acting contract with Chuck Wagon expired. Maybe he became a janitor.
Which commercial is from 1983?
Chuck Wagon today would be made from crickets.
SFX in the 1970s!
All these comments from folks pretending to be here for reasons other than because family guy sent them here. You’re not fooling anyone.
