- Wishes, the long-running fireworks show at Disney's Magic Kingdom from 2003 through 2017, had its final bow on May 11, 2017 to a massive crowd. Wishes is being replaced by a brand new show to Walt Disney World called Happily Ever After!

Nothing will ever feel as magical as Wishes. NOTHING.
Wishes is still my favorite castle show, the way it portrayed characters without even showing them on the castle was truly magical.

Who misses this show?
It can’t be only me. Happily Ever After is amazing but this show just really captures the magic of Disney
Best fireworks show ever
my version in the guitar ruclips.net/video/hT5z0c7xpEY/видео.html
Me! This was my childhood! It’s as close to perfection as you can get. I will always get choked up at “star light, star bright”. I hope beyond hope that it will return someday. My dream is to watch this with my future children, and share the magic of Disney Wishes with them.

This IS Disney.
I proposed to my wife under Wishes 3 years ago.. shame to see it go but it will never be forgotten.

Awwwww happy proposal!
I assume she said yes? 😂
That sing-along at the end brought me to literal tears.
Me too!

Yep! I would have loved to be a cast member working at that time. Knowing how deep the the love we have for these things, and hearing it proclaimed like that.... you can't fake that.
Same
Gabe Valdez I know right I live here to and I can always go but it is going away and it made me cry
Ok, but we bawled like babies when everyone was singing at the end!
eleventhgorgeous I didn't
OMG IM LITERALLY SOBBING IN MY CHAIR THATS SO COOL!!!!! I wish I was there😍😥
Many tear soaked shirts when the lights came on. Best firework show of the 4 1/2 decades of Magic Kingdom. The story flowed perfectly, plus you could watch from anywhere. Not doable with Happily Ever After and I dislike the music.
I miss Jiminy Cricket
Same here.
eleventhgorgeous goosebumps instantly
This makes me so sad. I can't believe I will never get to see this again. It was such a powerful and moving show that truly captured all the magic that is Disney. It was so innocent and pure, just a classic show. Btw, it was very windy that night from the looks of things.
Happily ever after in my opinion is all of that and more
@@Honeydoyou it is but it's a different type of show. stinks not hearing wish upon a star at night at MK anymore.
@Zarquis Yiris 😂😂😂 good luck with that
@Zarquis Yiris wishes ran for 14 years which is plenty long enough. If you want to relive that magic just watch the RUclips video. Happily ever after is going to be for the next generation what wishes was for you.
How do you feel about EPCOT forever?
I watched the livestream of enchantment and I didn’t know what to think about it so I decided I would watch wishes cause I had never seen it! It’s amazing how even with no projections the music and fireworks still had so much more of an impact on me than enchantment did! Enchantment is cute but it doesn’t really have an important lesson or deeper meaning I guess. I really hope they take the criticism and realize that we don’t love the new show!
Seeing "Wishes" in person was very magical. The ending was my favorite finale of any fireworks show.
I did the same thing. I love and miss wishes.
Bring back Happily Ever After
I respectfully disagree. I just watched this for the first time just now (although I'm sure I saw this once in person a loooong time ago but I don't remember) and I think Enchantment is a suitable replacement for HEA. Although HEA will always hold a special place in my heart and was very moving, Enchantment is still a good successor.
Exactly what I thought! Wishes is much more magical than the projections show
Can we applaud how they went from this to an ENTIRELY SEPARATE SHOW, only being able to test overnight after park hours, then having maybe 22 hours to switch fireworks, turn the projectors on, set up new lights and effects, from the last wishes show to first happily ever after show. That’s impressive....
Happily Ever After and You are the Magic in the guitar ruclips.net/p/PL6AMubMCdMOEgGTjk3MYVWAKjNM_ZgDRW
They spent months setting up technical elements for happily ever after. They just hide them well
I just time-traveled here from 2021 -- to get the taste of Enchantment out of mouth.
😢
I'm literally here doing the same thing haha!
I am sitting here at 4:30 in the morning, crying to Wishes. God, growing up hurts. This show holds so many beautiful memories from my childhood, and I can’t help but relive those memories every once in a while. I will be joining the Disney College Program and I will get to see Happily Ever After soon, but I don’t think it will ever live up to what Wishes was for so many people over its 14-year run.
I thought that same thing, and I was so very wrong. HEA actually re-awoke the Disney fan inside me. Now, I agree that it will never be Wishes, but it is truly spectacular. Hope you got to see it before it leaves, and hope you enjoyed it.

Does anyone have a tissue? A 51 year old man crying over fireworks...Only Disney can do that to me. I hope at some point it's brought back even for just a limited engagement. Wishes 2.0 with castle projections to match the story. Farewell Wishes...for now.
rob fletcher- I know how you feel. I wish they could've just alternated nights between Wishes and Happily Ever After. :(
How about "Wishes Wednesdays "-for the summer of 2018! lol
Facts. I love this man lol. I'm sobbing right now. They switched it on my 18th bday. Sign of the times it's so sad a part of me died
Same here, I'm 17 and I've only ever known Wishes at MK. Quite frankly, this was my favorite part of my vacation. In fact, on our last night there, we'd always go back to Wishes. So sad
rob fletcher I have none because I didn't cry.
THIS is DISNEY. Pure class and beauty. The recent firework shows don't hold a candle to "Wishes" and "Fantasy in the Sky".
@2freeIvX I don't wear glasses, nostalgic ones or otherwise.
Happily ever after is definitely better than any of those shows. Enchantment is still a bit better, but yes it’s a disappointment.
TRUE
@2freeIvX happily ever after might be more advanced in technology, and has some superior sequences… but it doesn’t hold a candle up to Wishes soundtrack
I was there in June & July 2006 and saw Wishes and Fantasmic. It was the 50th year and the castle was gilded. I was 14, now 31 and never forgot those two lines; 'some imagination huh' and 'see what a little wishing can do.' Il never forget it. 💖
For the 50th anniversary they should bring this back but with new projections like Happily Ever After.
completely agree
I hope this comes true
There’s a new fireworks show coming for the 50th anniversary.
Enchantment is what the 50th show is called, and then there will be a new show after that ends 🥲
@@speakingangel1669 WHAT?!? HAPPILY EVER AFTER IS GONE *PERMANENTLY?!?!*
i’m just going to pretend that i didn’t sob for 15 minutes straight

Same. Flood gates open and the tears flow every time.
That song always made me cry but damn am I gonna miss it.
Remember... Dreams Come True is back at Disneyland... it has the Wishes song in it... so Wishes will still live for as long as this legacy show is being shown. Which makes my heart happy... I will miss Wishes sooooooooo much at MK though!!
My daughter would not even watch the video. She was sitting in the living room crying, listening to the audio, and refused to look at the screen in the other room. I'm boo-hooing in the other room, wanting to share this moment with her, but she would have none of that.
Hi!! Could you tell me which is that show? The one you say keeps playing wishes song? Because I'm so sad now that they took wishes away :'(
Macarena Astun Remember... Dreams Come True
Totes1829 I was crying when watching my dog came to me and licked my tears
"Thanks folks, for making this little gathering of ours so extra magical, and from our family and friends to yours, may all your wishes come true. So long!"
Exactly one year ago, I stood there in that crowd to say my final goodbye to Wishes, singing along to the entire show through choked sobs and tears.
It's been a year now, and though Happily Ever After is still a very good show, it doesn't hold this very same magic or presence or emotion that I felt standing here in any of the dozens of shows I saw of Wishes, or the one I saw then on its final night, and even watching it now on the anniversary of its final show, I still wish I could watch the show in person just one more time.
It's been a full year now, but Wishes, you're still missed.
Xion woah! we were in the same place at the same time. awh man, i’ll miss this show.
I miss it too. As a former CM. I balled like a baby! Still do. It touches your soul in a magical way
Same... I miss wishes too. It holds so much memories. :(
yeah bro u should look at the new show it’s so bad
Gianna k lol lmao nice job assuming that I wasn’t at the final showing of HEA because I did still love it or the first showing of Enchantment in that terrible crowd on the 50th.
Just because Enchantment is awful doesn’t mean I don’t like Wishes more or think Wishes has more magic than HEA. And just because I think Wishes held the most magic and like it more doesn’t mean I don’t think HEA wasn’t brilliant in its own right. Enchantment is an insult to MK fireworks but not a gotcha about HEA that you seem to think it is.
who's watching this when the show is gone?? I miss it!
animalmagic 22 I hate this crap

Wishes at Disneyland was way better then this trash! Disneyland’s castle actually had projects not just colors that change to the beat. The lighting was so boring and honestly could be way cooler like Disneyland’s

Me! All the time! This is Disney for me. I remember being 11 years old and watching this for the first time. A part of my childhood died when I heard it was retired, but I remain hopeful that it will return someday.
WELCOME TO SMASH, SORA!
So heartbreaking hearing everyone sing along.
Agreed +ThatGuy:p .
However such a magical moment at the same time to hear guests singing along to it because it shows them how much the guests loved the show .
The good thing for that is the fact that they released Wishes on cd and iTunes or Apple Music so that the guests could probably sing along to it whenever they choose to .
Here after watching yet another Frozen/Moana clip show fireworks show they slapped together for the 50th.....
Coming here after Disney Enchantment premiered, trying to think of what went wrong. I didn’t feel disappointment in seeing Happily Ever After no matter how much I loved Wishes. But I feel so sad seeing Disney Enchantment.
right there was so much going on… the newer movies were there when it was supposed to be the classics.. I miss wishes, yea HEA was sooooooo good, but can never beat wishes
fr, happily ever after was filling big shoes replacing wishes, but disney brought it to the table. those shoes are like 3 sizes to big on enchantment 😐
No mouse. No Walt. Just fireworks with no substance or message.
Me too, I’m sat crying watching this lol. The nostalgia is real, when I was little I had no idea how good I had it 😅
In 2023, wondering what went wrong too.
Wishes was Disney’s pinnacle..
Came here for the feels I didn't get from Enchantment
"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened"

Every time I hear wishes it remindes me of all the great times I had as a CP..Disney won't be the same without it, hopefully the new show will be just as magical

CP is an experience that can't be topped
The new show isn't as good and no show will ever be as good as Wishes!
the new show honestly blew me away. Cried several times.
I also enjoyed the new show with the fireworks, the music, the incorporation of the characters on the castle, how they put displays on the castle for visual effects instead of only fireworks.
It isn't nearly as magical.
Gonna miss seeing Tink flying overhead. No castle projections or lasers will replace her.
I think she's still going to fly out of the castle as a part of Happily Ever After! I remember seeing it in one of the preview videos.
luckily She does make a debut in the show near the end
She's still flying in the new show!
Not unemployed.
Jeffrey Mark I think there keeping that yay!
animallmagic 22 well considering the show came out almost 2 months ago... we would know by now (shes still here)
The new show might be more eye candy but i prefer Wishes. For me, Wishes really makes me feel as if i was in a magical world while the new show is just all eye candy. (I love Wishes soundtrack)

Going to WDW in May and I’m so sad that Wishes is gone...the tech in new show might be cool but will never replace wishes and it’s sweet “simplicity". The little girl signing "starlight, starbright...", Jiminy Crickets messages and the chorus were so beautiful and I rarely left the show with dry eyes.

It’s 2023… you want to go back watch this all over again in person
People who never saw "Wishes" and "Spectromagic" in person really really missed out. I'm glad I was lucky enough to have enjoyed both!
Disneys new leadership seems absolutely intent on forgetting the past and the songs that got them to where they are today.
I cried like a baby remembering the many evenings (every two years) watching that show with my wife and children. My daughter just came back from a trip with her husband specifically timed to see Wishes before it disappeared. I am sure whatever comes next will be just as touching for new families. My family grew up with Wishes.

Such a better show than the new projection clip shows. They actually made the fireworks the main part of the show and synced it with the music and narration. Now its just clips of movies up on the castle with a firework thrown in every once in a while.
2:41 Always hits me real hard in the feels.
For me its always “genie i wish for your freedom” knowing robin williams is gone 😭
Wishes is so insanely special to me, and I'm so happy I got to be there for the final performance. I've seen it hundreds of times, and I never fail to be completely transfixed any time I watch it. When everyone around me started singing along at the end, I completely lost it, trying desperately to hold my camera steady while I was sobbing like an infant.

The moment where Tinker Bell appears to the main song of Wishes: A Magical Gathering of Disney Dreams is one of the best reveals ever. It makes way for the beginning the show deserves.
Sobbing! Very excited about the new show but sad to see the end of wishes! I cant even believe I am crying as much as I am!
julia Aiello yeah.......I crys when watching I love disney
Who’s here from Enchantment?

This is one of the things Disney should NEVER have ended.
Wishes is special because it features disney classic themes that are "retro" but so meaningful and hit home for most disney fans. Happily ever after brought a new special to the table with more modern theme songs while carrying on that with wishes you can live happily ever after. Then enchantment.....no just no.

I guess this is the final curtain call wishes the main reason I always felt the magic while going to Disney. 2003-2017 that's kind of funny I am 16 and the first time I went to Disney I was 2
Wishes will always hold a Speacial place in my heart forever. You are the reason why the magic in my heart always grew stronger and my wishes became a reality. I hope someday when I'm older and have kids of my own you will be back for one last round that is my wish.

Jazzy Rose aw. I was born 2003 and I went when I was two, then when I was 11, and then I went at least twice every year until the end. I still go but I am so sad to say goodbye. This show meant so much to my family. I dated my wife at Disney with this show, got engaged at the castle, had our first kid with this show, it spanned so many special moments of our lives! We definitely cried
Disney's greatest achievement so far! Bring back Wishes!!!
My first time watching this rn. I loved Happily Ever After and am incredibly sad it got replaced by Enchantment now. Wishes looks incredible and I‘m glad it got SO MANY YEARS. Which makes it even sadder tho that Happily Ever After only got 4 years. (Not even, if we take iff the covid closing time)
everyone singing at the end made me tear up :')
1. I love how the smoke cleared away as soon as everyone stopped clapping
2. I like how in the end they showed the castle color combinations from the show.
3. Disney Will never be the same without this show. It was a classic and really it spread a message to my heart.
My favorite quote of the whole show: “See what a little wishing can do?” Then the finale started.
Wishes can never be replaced in my heart..As a grown man who has seen Wishes live and on line many times it still touches my heart and wish upon A stat that they would bring it back.. A true Disney heart... Truly Wish I knew that they were doing a final show I would have been there singing alone.

This show always made me tear up and had I been there for the last showing...I know I would have cried buckets.
Every time I see it...it's the ending that gets me!!! The Blue Fairy's message, the song and the big fireworks that come when they start singing "When You Wish Upon a Star", I swear I feel like I'm surrounded by pixie dust and it is really a magical moment for me. 7 years this May since this show said goodbye. 7 years, and I still miss it more than anything that’s ever gone from the parks. But, as we know, all good things must come to a…pause. And with Enchantment making a return this year, who knows? Maybe our Wishes will come true.
This was always a not to be missed for my family and I. We always planned our days to include Wishes.
YESSS
I can’t be the only one who thinks this. That “so long” hits even harder now that it’s over. It’s like the show itself is saying “goodbye and thanks for loving me”. I really hope we get to see Wishes 2.0 someday.

Welp, my childhood has been officially closed.
I've grown up with Wishes since my first time at Disney World, now it's gone, I cry even when I think about it and get nostalgic feelings.
What matters most is the music, the orchestra, the score. The new enchantment sucks despite of its lightning and technology advancement
Thanks for capturing the final show. So sad to see this go. 😥
I'll always remember that little frog that sat next to us and watched wishes from the ferry boat dock at the ttc.
That's fricken adorable.
I was there that night and I can say the emotion was something else and when everyone starting singing as they walked out, well it was something that could only be experienced.
That’s a Disney fireworks show!!
As someone who never saw this but did see Happily Ever After, I can absolutely understand the sentimence of Wishes, but, HEA is definitely a better show. HEA is visually more interesting and appeals to a wider audience.
What I don't get is why DW couldn't do both shows and alternate them between days.
Peter Schmidt yeah that's what I don't get why don't they do the new show at night and the wishes song when everyone is out of the park?!
Peter Schmidt logistical nightmare to alternate.
My wish is Disney fans would appreciate all of history of the films, music, parks. All new would not have come without the talent of Walt's 9 old men to build upon.
Money. More projections and lights = less pyro. Big cost savings with the new show.
@@alexkoss3829 There's more pyro in the new show.
The key thing for me is the quality of the story and soundtrack. I LOVE the high tech nature of HEA. It's incredible, and a visual spectacle. I love new tech. But it just doesn't move me emotionally the way Wishes did. If they'd applied the modern effects to an updated Wishes, or come up with a new show that was just as emotional I would have been so happy and excited.
As it stands, the only part of HEA that makes me emotional is the Moana part, but even that wasn't played for all it's worth. The Moana music is so incredible, that part should have made me cry without even breaking a sweat.
I got engaged to this, I miss it so much
when i was 6 yo, my aunt gifted me with the wishes soundtrack cd, cause she visited magic kingdom and knew i was a big disney fan, even though i hadn’t been to disney world yet. so, when i saw it live first time, i remember singing the entire show next to my mom when i was a kid… it was the first show i saw at magic kingdom. i’m sure that everyone who saw it left the park in a marvelous state of spirit. thank you wishes for you magical legacy :)

This is still the only fireworks show I’ve seen live at WDW. My last two visits didn’t have shows still. While I… wish… I saw HEA live, I’m glad to have this memory.
Can’t believe it’s been 9 years since I last saw this. It hit me so hard on that last visit; only to learn that the last showing was 2 years after my last trip….I’ll admit it was one of the first times I’ve left the park feeling disappointed.
Just a heart wrenching song of hope for a bright future that I’ll always miss.
I wish.....this show would return.
Watching Wishes brought a tear to my eye. It’s gone but never forgotten by many of us. How lovely just to listen to the music and watch the fireworks. In the day when you did not need projections to make the show magical, simplicity ♥️
I worked on Tomorrowland in 2004/2005 & loved dancing to it. Then I'd play the CD in my truck during my long drive home. Miss it!
Maybe they should remake wishes with projections
I've see this show so many times including being front and center for the final night and it is still like no other. It embodies everything Walk Disney and the Magic Kingdom stands for. And Although Happily Ever after is a very good show it fails in comparison to the heartfelt message that Wishes Brought to many hearts every day it started. What a great show!

When I went to Disney I saw this. I can't believe they replaced this... Nothing is as special as this.
I and my wife are really lucky because we could see this fantastic show back in May 8, 2017 when we were having honeymoon. Since then, we visit Orlando every year to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We do love 'Happily ever after' show. But the memory of 'Wishes' will be always top of my mind.
I recently went to Disney and saw the happily ever after show. I was unaware it had been switched. I was so excited to hear all the characters say their wishes and was slightly surprised when I didn't hear Jiminy cricket speak. In all honesty, I liked the new show, but wishes was something special. The new show may have "better" fireworks but it doesn't have the sweet, magical quality of wishes. I wish they had just improved the fireworks and kept the original audio, which was so touching and beautiful. It managed to bring me to tears. I wish(hehe) that it will return one day.
Today 2 years ago, we said goodbye to one of the best fireworks show ever.
Edit: this fireworks show made our childhoods. I love and miss this show always and forever.
As someone who grew up visiting the parks yearly, hearing “it’s the blue fairy!!” Meant “artillery fire incoming.” It was loud and just amazing
I can't stand the new fireworks show and I can't exactly explain why but wishes tugged at my heartstrings and I was never able to make that last showing so when I watched this today I cried like a baby which was the closure I never had so thanks for posting
