In this lecture Professor Kristin Beach, MSN, BSN, RN will be presenting on The Parkland Burn Formula and the Rule of Nines. We will be reviewing how to calculate total body surface area affected from burns using the rule of nines. After this learning objective is complete, we will move onto using the parkland burn formula to determine the amount of fluids a patient should receive. We will also be doing four practice problems at the end of this lecture to further solidify this material. We hope you enjoy this lecture and be sure to support us below!

Great lecture… but while calculating the fluid replacement we cant go beyond 50% irrespective of the TBSA. Even if tbsa is 80… we ll calculate it as 4 x (tbsa) 50 x weight…
