  • Here's a tricky one that I've never seen anyone do a walk-through of. It takes finesse, but I guarantee it's easier than you may think. Just take your time, get it right. If you get stuck or have questions: leave a comment and I'll do my best to walk you through any problems!

    I’m new to your videos and I have to say you do a great job of teaching and demonstrating. Also want to say I love international’s currently own two and I love Texas. I lived16 years in Cat Spring Texas about 80 miles south east of Austin. In Austin county Texas.

    Thanks again - your videos are so good. You are clear, you don't ramble about off topic stuff, you provide a lot of information and have great video quality. And thanks again for posting sources - this stuff takes hours of internet searching otherwise. For people like me, who have never worked on such old trucks, your videos are gold! . . . I tried making a RUclips video once and I know how much longer it takes to do anything - so again, thank you for sharing your knowledge!

      I really appreciate that! Thank you! I'm always about 6 videos behind, filming them takes a long time and then editing, but if it helps anyone save another old truck it's all worth it to me.

    Thanks for the great informative video. I have a 1952 International L160 COE that I am putting glass in and was not sure where to start. The weed eater string is a genius idea. I am sure this is a tough job but you made it look easy. Thanks for sharing this information and giving me the confidence to tackle this job.

      That’s great to hear, that’s why I make these videos! I’ll be doing L-series rear windows in the next year on my upcoming project, but it’s the same procedure.

    Parts like window mechanism dont use grease and very little oil as dust and particles will stick and that's what causes bind ups, they get clogged and it's not cleaned .the only time someone looks at it is when its clogged and the people think force will fix it untill it is broken,and that usually from over greasing or to much oil as it tends to run and go sticky.clean of excess oil and dont use grease.

    Great Video !! I have done installations like this many times. The weed eater string is a great idea !! I have always used carpenter string, so this is a great idea that I will try. Appreciate your time making these videos !

      I never even thought of using carpenter string, that's the best part about getting feedback on these videos is learning how other folks do it!

    Is it a different process to install the rear window for 1948 KB7?

    • @BareKnuckleBinder
      @BareKnuckleBinder  2 года назад

      Yes, the cab for the larger K and KB has a different rear window assembly. If you’ve got the KB-7 handy as a visual reference, look at the rear window from inside the cab, there’s an inner retaining frame surrounding it and held in with screws. Remove the screws and pull it apart.

      It’s been 4 years since I took my original out. There’s only a one piece frame, I had it chromed, and there was an about 2’ x1” piece of metal?
      Anybody do a video on the bigger truck?

    • @johnbain6084
      @johnbain6084 2 года назад

      After I got the glass, window gasket and frame together it appears the gasket goes on the glass, cut to size and then should be caulked/ siliconed in and the trim ring then is screwed in to hold it.
      If this is wrong please let me know.
      I think I’ll have the guys who put my fixed windshield use the adhesive caulk, epoxy or whatever it is they used.

    • @BareKnuckleBinder
      @BareKnuckleBinder  2 года назад +1

      @@johnbain6084 I would advise strongly against using silicone or adhesives of any kind. If you use anything, use “3M linerless splicing tape”, it’s like really thick electrical tape, works the same as conventional glass setting tape these trucks originally used, is easier to use than glass setting tape and cleaner than silicone. I outline all of this in the windshield video, silicone or caulk is the worst thing you can use. I haven’t done a larger cab rear glass video yet, but I have plans to.

      @@BareKnuckleBinder thanks for the info. As I was looking at it I can they had caulked it in previously , way back in the day.
      I used the tape putting the front glass in to the windshield frame but had the glass guys epoxy it in like the do modern windshields because my build eliminated operating windshield.

      Hey sir, I need the exterior door handles and the upper hood latch assembly for my 46 KB. Due to WWII the 41 & 46 are basically identical. I know this is an old post but I figured it's worth a shot?

    Thin side in or outside?

    • @BareKnuckleBinder
      @BareKnuckleBinder  3 года назад

      If I’m understanding your question correctly, thin side should be outside. Glass will be inside the cab.
