These 12 Cars Are Now WORTHLESS in 2026 - Here is Why!

  • Published on Mar 16, 2026
  • Some brand-new cars don't just lose value-they collapse in worth almost instantly. Buyers from 2024 and 2025 are watching their investments evaporate. Not from wear and tear, not from high mileage-but because the market has completely turned its back on them. The most shocking part? Some carry luxury badges you'd never imagine on a depreciation list. I'm revealing the 12 sedans hemorrhaging value faster than anything else in America.

    • @RyanBerich-u1w
      @RyanBerich-u1w Month ago +11

      But listen carefully. Some are great values after 3 years. Some simply trade car payments for maintenance cost. Why spend the same amount each month for a 3 year old luxury car as a new one.
      I agree with you 100% for some on the list but some others, they still cost too much used.

      Oh gosh yes there is, wayyy too much! I watched a video by some mechanic, who had to fix the (electronic) auto-controlled flaps and ducting for the A/C system of a Chevy SUV. The entire system could (and should) have been replaced by a plastic tab for the passenger to open and close the flaps manually. Not on this car!
      The whole thing had wiring and switches galore, just so you could control the air-flow electrically from the driver's seat. To fix this abomination, you had to remove all the good parts just to change a $10 plastic part. Ultimately it took half a day, and cost the owner $25 for parts and $350 for labor. Ridiculous!

To me this car is priceless because it costs nothing more than normal maintenance, fuel (30+ mpg), and insurance (which is cheap for a luxury brand). Arildsgrabben You really have no idea what you're talking about.
      The last Volvo S60 was launched in 2018, and Volvo has been separate from Ford since March 2010.
      I have serious doubts that Ford had anything to do with the redesign of the Volvo S60 in 2018 years after selling Volvo, especially since it should be common knowledge that Volvo's cars are designed and built much better than Ford's vehicles.
      The only company that almost went bankrupt here was Ford.
      That's precisely why Ford had to sell the only valuable asset in its brand portfolio, namely Volvo Car Corporation.
      Since the sale of Ford, Volvo has been thriving while Ford continues to languish.
      Here in Europe, Ford isn't even achieving half of its 2014 sales figures, which is hardly surprising when you simply discontinue your best-selling models.

  • @FrédéricRenéZyzik420

    The overall average value loss after three years is 40%. For most of these cars here being not as common as a VW Golf , owners needs to regularly see their mechanic. You can even drive a volvo Turbo for 900k kilometers if you take good care. At least here in germany it is common that a car looses 50% value after 1 year, so we'd rather keep it and drive ot for as long as possible.^^

    Number 11 - The quality is junk too. A recent owner spilled his drink onto the floor of his vehicle. The electronics gave out! Left him stranded! The price quote he got from Hyundai was outrageous. Also outrageous was the fact that Hyundai denied his warranty claim. Seriously, no clue how Hyundai and its sister brand KIA stay in business. Their gasoline engines are known for breaking down, even when new. Their EVs are terrible! Their hybrids? When the batteries need replacing, you'll end up paying half the cost of the vehicle just for that!
    And, let's not forget The KIA boys. If you do want a Hyundai or KIA, you HAVE to get one with Push-Button starters. Otherwise, these vehicles can be easily stolen with just a USB cable. Who are the reverse geniuses buying cars from there two brands?!?!

    • @NGMonocrom
      @NGMonocrom Month ago +1

      @charliesargent6225 thanks for the reminder. Yeah.... They never actually fixed the engine fires. KIA did nothing, while Hyundai installed sensors to give drivers an early warning before the fires broke out. Pull over, stop driving, shut the vehicle off, and call for a tow to the nearest Hyundai dealership. That was their fix.

    Someone must have used a very narrow search on the facts of the Giulia. Most issues that have been causing electrical gremlins are caused by a battery that most have had replaced or upgraded by warranty.

    • @gobluea2740
      @gobluea2740 Month ago

      Very true! Up to the 2018 model year (4-CYL. Giulia/Stelvio), there were some notable quality issues. However, since 2019, Alfa has addressed those issues to improve reliability. In fact, I have not spent anything on unscheduled maintenance or repairs. Just a joy to drive! Giulia and Stelvio have been widely underestimated in the market because of stereotypes and issues in early model years. Actually, they are high-value sedan and CUV for those who enjoy driving. The Ferrari-derived V6 is a different story. Fun but expensive to own...

I get the oil changed every 3-4K miles. Replaced the brake pads. The only thing that went was the alternator at 80K miles. Best car I’ve ever owned. And it looks and runs like new. Big Acura fan.

Got a fantastic deal on it, brand new TLX, it had been sitting on the lot for a long time and was covered in all sorts of nasty stuff. Told them I would take it as is. However I detail cars. When buying a new car they want you to bring it back in a month to ensure everything is ok. When I bought it back they were astonished at the transformation. Better than from the factory. They actually offered to buy it back and give me a full refund. I politely declined 😁

    • @hafenbraut
      @hafenbraut Month ago

      Not if you buy a Dacia. I lost under 50% after almost 7 years & 68.000km. You first lose the money you pay for the badge, and the older a car gets, the less all the non-essential features get valued. And at a certain point, the badge even eats additional value, since you still need to pay for it when you need spare parts.
      So, if you buy a car and want to have good resell value, pick one where they charge you for the actual "usable" value, not for the image.
