I just realized how Stande Brestois, Nantes abd Lorient have that little symbol as a reference to their region, the french britain, which actually has some kind of particular culture appart from France centralist identity
It's way more than just a particular culture. Brittany came to be in the 400s because of the migration of Cornish people from Britain due to the invasion of the Anglo-Saxons. They developed a different language from Cornish and were the last mainland European celts in a roundabout way
With European football leagues, they have pyramid systems from the highest being the best of each countries football associations. And it lowers from pros, semi-pro, and Sunday league(beer league) with relegation. England’s is the most simple, and Spain’s is crazy in a fun way.

You should do USL Championship, and USL League 1. These are other soccer leagues in America. I am a little bias though, since my hometown club is in USL L1
Basically in Europe and most other continents, if you suck in league 1 you're getting the relegation sack into league 2. This makes the battle of surviving relegation just as exciting as the battle at the top of the league. The pain of getting relegated also extends beyond just a demotion. Teams lose HUGE amounts of money due to losing the broadcasting revenue bonus of being in league 1. There's also the chance that the team owners leave and stop investing in the team and lastly, key players for relegated teams are more likely to transfer to another team because they have release clauses in their contracts that allow them leave should they get relegated. And as an Aston Villa fan (English League team) I would know this pain..
Loved that you chose Toulouse as the best, its also my favorite! Also one day you should do the Argentinian league, they have a lot of ugly and similar logos and its almost a competition to see whos the least ugly lol

The cute little guy you love on HAC logo is a salamander, symbol of François 1er and the city of Le Havre. The bird on Strasbourg's logo is a stork, symbol of the region (Alsace). You broke my heart giving such a bad review to my team logo :') To be honest, we all are pretty disappointed by this logo and the crown makes sense because our city has been famous to be the place where french kings were usually crowned. If you want I can explain you (in french this time) a lot about the football logos!

As a Frenchman, it would be cool if you could judge the atmosphere at the various clubs' matches, because in France football is a popular sport where everyone defends their local club, so it's common to see beautiful tifos, smoke-belching, singing and entertainment in the stands! Or else judge the season's shirts! )

Hey! The 29 number on Brest's logo is directly linked to its département number (Finistère = 29). Basically, all regions have subregions with each a number allocated based on their alphabetical order. There's a few exceptions like : Marne (51 ; Reims) and Haute-Marne (52) ; or Bas-Rhin (67 ; Strasbourg) and Haut-Rhin (68). Hope that helped :)
Nice seeing a video about our French football leagues!
I recommend you blind rank Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League teams next. It will give you a look at different design styles from different countries in one place.
The number 29 on the Brest logo means the number of its department, there are 96 in France arranged in alphabetical order. As a French, I also love the logos of "FC Sochaux" and "Nîmes Olympique". Two great French clubs but which no longer play at the highest level. i loved this video, merci beaucoup ! 😁

3:10 Traditionnally, a club can add a crown to his logo after a certain time of existence. Originally, it was mainly found in countries where there's still a monarchy but it's not a forged rule anymore. In Belgium, a team must have 50 years of a lifetime to have the right to wear the crown and you can get the title "Royal Club XXX" (but you have to ask to receive that).

Hey frenchie here, and in a typicaly french fashion I'm here to break all illusions that you may have about "french culture" after visiting Paris : You can't go to Paris and experience the french culture, because France doesn't have only one culture (in fact it has many) and Paris is so globalized nowadays that it's more "immitation french" than "true french". I like your enthusiasm about my country and I hope that you'll get to visit the "Province", many culturally rich regions awaits you there : Brittany (our celts), Corsica (our "italians"... don't call them italians you might get murdered), the north (culturally closer to Belgium/Netherlands I might say), the Basque Country, French Catalonia, Savoy, etc.. Anyway keep up the good videos !

@ It also leads to unfunny ignorance, i.e. the lack of any context for the Breton/Occitan/Corsican roots of these clubs or any significant roots for teams past and going forward. You can be funny without being clueless

Loved that you chose Toulouse as the best, its also my favorite! Also one day you should do the Argentinian league, they have a lot of ugly and similar logos and its almost a competition to see whos the least ugly lol
My club Toulouse 🟣⚪
Liga MX next 👀🇲🇽
This
Lol
YES LIGAMX NEXTTT
I usually agree with you but I think you did Strasburg dirty, I really liked that crane.
Also, PSG may be loathsome, but I've gotta admit the logo is OK.
As a Toulouse (Ligue 1) and Pau (Ligue 2) fan, this video made my day !
I absolutely love Toulouse’s logo and I’m glad you love it so much too !
plz make Brasileirão Série A and Série B tier list 😢
up
The cute little guy you love on HAC logo is a salamander, symbol of François 1er and the city of Le Havre.
If you want I can explain you (in french this time) a lot about the football logos!
people barely care about ligue 1, so I'd say u should skip ligue 2 😭
@@envkx idc what people care about tbh, i’m just having fun :) et j’adore parler français
@MerrileeBear, my Grand parents are from Portugal & Brazil, so you like France & Portugal is southwest neighbor of France & Brazil is the Amazon buff women driving can-am cycle & tropical bird & spider monkey version of France
She did Ligue 1 before La Liga or the premier league 😭
@ i’m the french speaking girlie, what did you expect? 🤭
@@merrileebear J'ai 16 ans mois mais j'ai seulement 10 ans de savoirs français et Je dit que je parle couramment mais c'est pas vrais 😭 J'oublie beaucoup le vocabulaire 😂 i speak English and spanish too so my french stays rusty 😭
First of all, love that you included Ligue 2 in this! It sounds like it was kinda random, but I don't think many people who watch football would rank 2nd tier logos, let alone someone who doesn't! That being said, you need to do the Italian Serie A and Serie B for Sampdoria's crest alone, trust me
Coming across a video of an american making a tierlist of french club logos as a frenchman made my day 😂😂 nice vid btw
i’m so happy this reached a french audience!! 😁
As a Frenchman, it would be cool if you could judge the atmosphere at the various clubs' matches, because in France football is a popular sport where everyone defends their local club, so it's common to see beautiful tifos, smoke-belching, singing and entertainment in the stands! Or else judge the season's shirts!
Already looking forward to the next ranking videos 😁✌️
j'aime beaucoup votre vidéo 😊
@nathanLegret merci merci 😁
Liga MX and Expansión nextttt
Suggestion rank the J.League logos
Gamba Osaka ftw
I am a french supporter of the VAFC ,in National (3rd division) we used to be in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 but last years we were too bad, we have the most beautiful logo of France
Man ligue 1 logo used to be so much richer. I think it's the european league that suffered the most from this oversimplification tendency like if you compare most of the clubs logos with theur former one the glow down is insane.
ITS VERCINGETORIX THE GUY ON THE CLERMONT FOOT LOGO
Nice seeing a video about our French football leagues!
I recommend you blind rank Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League teams next. It will give you a look at different design styles from different countries in one place.
The number 29 on the Brest logo means the number of its department, there are 96 in France arranged in alphabetical order.
As a French, I also love the logos of "FC Sochaux" and "Nîmes Olympique". Two great French clubs but which no longer play at the highest level.
i loved this video, merci beaucoup ! 😁
3:41 one of my fav French clubs. The goal celebration included the fans tumbling down and creating a human avalanche, truly some great deranged individuals
Weird comment but your voice is mega soothing :D
tysm!!!
Bonjour, ta video est cool. The dragon you find cute is a salamander, the symbol of François Ier, former king of France who created the city of Le Havre.
Day 2 of asking for THE MEXICAN LEAGUE 😭🙏🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
Valid
Nantes' old logo before 2019 is beautiful
The warrior on Clermont logo was an Arvern who fought Cesar in 52 BC, he defeat Cesar on Gergovie but lose on Alesia.
One of the greatest warriors in France history. And his name is Vercingétorix.
Also I'm French 🙌🇫🇷 and I live in Clermont.
Really funny video, greetings from France 😊
Maybe in the future, you can do video where you rank all your S tier logos.
@@nells317 omg i love this idea!!
Thank you for doing ligue 1 & Ligue 2
@@Theunkownofbelgium after visiting paris i absolutely want to travel all over france! i’m excited to come back :)
merci ☺️☺️
merci pour ta video Lyon fans 🔴🔵🦁
On est là!!!!!!!!!
Hello Merrilee,
What do you think about reviewing the logos of the teams qualifying for the FIFA Club World Cup US 2025😊
@@colonelfares3857 merci!!!
Tu devrais faire les logos du Top14 et de la ProD2 😁
Waiting for the tier list of brazilian serie a and b
in the Nice logo, “Despì” means “since” in the language of the city (Niçois)
Ligue 1 was recently "sponsored" by McDonald, before that it was Conforama (a furniture store if i'm correct)
From the top of my head, ASSE means Association Sportive Saint-Étienne, not 100% sure about the first S tho
Ce logo (as synonym you can say symbole ou emblème)
9:35 Alsace is known for their "cigognes" apparently called stork in english so it's probably that
10:07 i believe is the number of the departement but not sure (same for Grenobles i guess)
13:25 it's Brittany (Bretagne) 's flag
Just want to say i loved the undertale and stardew music, et désolé pour le pavé x)
Do Liga Mx please. It may not be the best league but the badges are cool
I wish she'd read before she made these
@@shakukon-to but that’s what makes it funny 🤩 blind reactions!!
@ It also leads to unfunny ignorance, i.e. the lack of any context for the Breton/Occitan/Corsican roots of these clubs or any significant roots for teams past and going forward. You can be funny without being clueless
Would it be possible to rank the top 14 clubs (rugby union clubs) ? Please
In France, the ligue 1 clubs logos are not very famous to be nice, sorry (except Toulouse )😅
Let's go!
FC Metz logo used to be very nice and featured meaningful regional symbols, it was removed by the club a few years ago because it wasn't "modern enough" and now we have this crap...
Nantes = Nashville xD
Nantes has changed their logo in 2019 and Nashville in 2020 to the current one. Both of them suck and the older logo was better.
