you're too good at your job, I really would have liked to be a mechanic, unfortunately my country does not offer almost nothing more. Thank goodness there are people like you who share their work and their passion and make it available to all. thanks mate
Scoping a pump is a great quick way to check its health! customer is in for an oil change, scope the pump, pump is no good = save the customer a possible break down / no-start in the future. Some will think it's a "money grab", but once you show them & explain the waveform... they end up thanking you!
Thomas EXOVCDS yeah trying to explain to the customer you potentially found a problem before it happens is very difficult to explain as you know yourself it can be a lot easier to let them break down first that's the only time they will believe you
i want those tools! All 4 plugs were gone on the Focus and i couldn't tell the difference in starting before and after changing them. I had no codes though. Nice job
THANK YOU FOR ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO LEON! Realy like this glow plug air gun. In Serbia most people buy diesels 15 years old with original glow plugs. I can just try to take them off but if I feel they are gonna snap I worn customer and if they snap I divert them to another garage to extract them. But this gun could be solution.
Hi bud! Just came across this! And I have got a 2002 master 2.2 it takes ages to start, the filter is minging (diesel) so I've replaced it, but still if you put your foot down it dies, like it hasn't got enough fuel! Would you call the low pressure pump? As the issue?
Former comment is a 2.5 diesel non turbo, sorry i forgot...armytruck bought in auction....no spoken history at all....so we have check everything.been standing long, with old diesel....they towed the car in action, and it took a few footballfields to get it going???....that kind of surprises me, that it took that long, but it drove fine after that long tow....drove 30 miles till home....could it run with faulty fuelpump,?
i believe common rail diesels will always start no problem without glow plugs. as they arnt really used unless the coolant and ambient temp is super low.
Yep, that fuel pump was sure nackered from the looks of the waveform, and those glow plugs have probably been open for a long time :) And never knew they had a specific impact tool to take out glow plugs. Looking like you're way onto getting her out the door.
stuzman the tool for the removein glow plugs is brilliant as it's not powerful enough to snap them but the vibrations can certainly help free it up sometimes it can take a couple of minutes but I rather take a few minutes then to snap them
Hi brother, just subscribed, master 99, crank no start, dont have scantool....tests we did: we listened for primepumpaction by listening in tank, aside tank, in motorcompartment,, zero noice....opened up a dieselline, no dieselflow at all....my question: has the 99 model lowpressure intankpump as well?....is there a hadge to get to in from above in the van?...there is a manual peerformed pusher, to manually prime the filter, on the left.....i changed the filter, filled it with clean diesel, and bleeded the filter with upper screw....even with this full filter, i didnt have any flow, just before the mainfuelpump....no drip, even by cranking....could the mainpump be at fault as well?...where are the relays? These masters dont really tell us on the cover of the fuzes, do they? Strange french car....also the injectors are hidden under a plastic cuver...how bizarrrr man! Thank for your effort to film and explain, Bob Belgium🇧🇪🍺keep safe Brother!
Hi put 4 news glow plugs but the connectors only get 11 volts and last for 5 seconds so the plug tip gets warm but doesn’t glow hot ,where’s the timer or relay location pls
Good way of testing pump with a scope but why risk breaking plugs and not checking them with a multimeter first? They would be most likely open or showing very high resistance, also some plugs on some cars are very hard to access, the beauty of a multimeter is that you don't need to get to the plugs really, you can jest test them at the connector or from the fuse box providing the wiring is good.
I pulled the fuel pump relay on my Renault Master expecting it to cut out, but it didn't. Any idea how it kept running? It was definitely the lower black relay I pulled out.
Hi mate that is just a low pressure pump to fill the diesel filter housing also makes it easier to breed just imagine the engine as a big vacuum once the engine is started it will pull the diesel through itself
Hi there. My 2002 master 2.2 needs an ECU. would you know if I get a replacement from an identical van would it work straight away or does it need sincing to the vans engine. Thank you.
no mate unfortunately it will not work you will have to do one or two things get a full ECU kit with all the modules and new keys or get your new ECU reprogrammed
@@simonking559 lol I answer everybody when I see the comments mate 10 40 semi synthetic Renault spec if you go into your local Motor Factors just ask for that
Hi , can you advise please. I have Renault Master 2008 and all works fine instead of speedometer and MPG ( trip computer). I have check all the fuses and are ok . What else can I check? Thank you
Hi mate it all depends on the car and the system this one does not have any DPF filter so it's not essential for regeneration anything like that and they are not monitored like the newer cars are so just depends on the car and the system
Mine doesn't start. Don't know why. It turns over but nothing even when I replaced the glow plugs controller. It was running once then kept faulting and conking out, but I got it going. Now It won't start at all. .
I have a 1996 SE6 Vaxhall calibra.....tucked away in a garage having a "nuts and bolts" restoration....its only got 81k miles on the clock with the bomb proof 8v engine.
I usually just use an Amp clamp Mutimeter cheap as chips from China these day's...Test for Lots of Amps drawn and if Zero test for voltage at Glow Plug connector if you get 12 Volts plus and no Current draw the Glow Plug is open circuit butnt out.
When it comes to anything electrical I wouldn't Trust cheap shit I've done a video on cheap metres and just changing the leads make a difference when it comes to things like that I always by well-known brands at least you know you're getting some type of of quality / reliability
Hello buddy Need you advise please Im going into a new courier carrier & i'm looking at buying a 2012- 2015 Renault master. Seen a lot of positive videos on you tube but read quite a few negative comments from old customers. Main issues are gearbox failing, and other problems. Whats your personal profession al advise please on those models. Thanks alot mate
Hi mate unfortunately I haven't worked on them particularly ones but it's like everything it all depends on how they were looked after before regular service does wonders to an engine as you will know the older ones I have worked on to be fair to them apart from the usual wear and tear and a couple of crankshaft sensors nothing really has gone wrong with them EGR valves to our problem if you can get one that was well looked after and well maintained then you are in sorry I cannot be more helpful as I haven't worked on the newer ones
I'm learning more about my van all the time and even better with you.

The black wire you tested was the 12V to the motor I presume? Are the other 3 wires 0V and signal wires? Great video BTW.

Nice stinky Diesel!! Yuk! I test my glow plugs with the scope on a rope.
scope on a rope would be lost with out 1
One Auto, I love the smell of diesel!
The best way to test glow plugs is with an amp metre all four good 80amps one out 60amps two out 40amps and so on,no need to remove them at all
I've heard, more than once, that these 2.2 DCI Renault engines are complete crapola.
Chewing gum?
yes!
