Nice riding. Great hand placement on the grips. Nice smooth lines. You even used your turn signals! Haha. I had a 2006 RT I put 41k miles on in 4 years and now have a 2013 K1600GT. BMW makes the finest machines.
BMW R and GS bikes have shorter final drive gear ratio then RT. Police version of RT (RTP) also got short final drive gear ratio. That is the reason RT is faster up to 20-30km/h
@@mototop_ it is not fairing alone, ...BMW R and GS bikes have shorter final drive gear ratio then RT. Police version of RT (RTP) also got short final drive gear ratio. That is the reason RT is faster up to 20-30km/h
@@mototop_ it is. GSA reach 9000 rpm approximately 25 km/h sooner. At 4000 rpm GS is 10km/h slower. That's why RT police uses GS final drive, for slow speeds. RT has a problem at walk speed and slow manuvering. And that's why GS accelerates a bit quicker. I prefer GS or RS acceleration :)
Considering purchasing on of these. How does it feel once you pass 100mph+ does it feel like the wind is blowing you all over or is it manageable? Thanks in advance.
the adjustable windscreen works very well. you can ride 130mph for hours.... :) Ok, at my height with 172cm :D But also with 180cm it should be no problem
I'm keen on purchasing this model, for touring purposes... Yeah , I knew it would fill the speedo, and its good to know that it will . If you had to force yourself to stick 120kph , wot would your fuel range be like ? Is the bike quite, relaxed and is there any vibrations coming from somewhere that one should know about?
regarding wind noise it's pretty quiet, and for a boxer engine there are pretty less vibrations. With the new engine it's even better. I guess fuel range at 120kph should be about 400km.
Lemme get this straight...Your on the Autobahn stopped in the left lane to do a standing start....Is this rather dangerous? I don't want to be a Karen but wow I'd be afraid of a Lambo running down the road at 225 MPH and turn you into a hood ornament.....NEVERMIND...I just saw your sideview mirrors and the road is blocked.

Which one is best for touring? Rt or K?
The only moto i want. Great vid !
Thanks :) Maybe this year I can measure the new R1250RT. Should be little faster than R1200RT.
@@mototop_ The new one is veeeery nice too, I hope you do that test :) I prefer the 1200s to the 1600s with BMW.

jo, die Vergkleidung macht einiges aus. Mit ner R1200RS geht das dann schon etwas besser.

right, the road was in construction behind me ;) Now since some years the track is open, so I start from a Autobahn parking lot or the approach.
