You would make a brilliant highschool art teacher. You explain your technique really clearly and have a good sense of humour about it. Two very crucial aspects of the job. Nice tutorial!
I couldn't believe it was a ball point pen. I paused the video and sought by name even though I surely knew BIC :) The lines are so soft and juicy! And it's a simple cheap pen... So we just have a talented guy here... :)

thank you so much :D drawing freehand with a sketch is not a bad mind if you are really comfortable with the fundamentals of drawing. Once you have those in place, then I think it great to try and draw without a sketch.

I am shocked on how similar ball point pen drawing is to lead pencil drawing. I mainly use lead and seeing you work is almost exactly how I draw other then the not being able to erase anything
Pls make a tutorial on how to be more accurate on drawing with reference photo by eye because I find it hard to make my portraits to look somehow similar to my reference photo. Ive tried using grid and even smaller grids but still aint work pls help

Great tips. I don’t draw with pens but you are right about taking your time. My problem is definitely patience.
Time is like the most important thing when it comes to realistic drawing.
It's not about patience , it's about enjoing drawing ... You concentrate too much at the final result .

For many years I used printing paper because that all I had. But if you have the opportunity to use watercolour paper then do it.
I use printer paper lol cause it’s cheap and my mom has a bunch or I use mix media sketchbook paper
