Powerful scene and amazing film. Blake completely sabotages himself slowly and very quietly through out the entire film. This scene was powerful very dark and depressing at the same time. It shows how much anger and pain Blake has been living through he's not just playing a song or making obscure noises, he's channeling all his pain and frustration through the music. The sound that you hear is what's living inside of his head and soul. What's also amazing about this scene is it shows how talented just one person can really be, Blake had no one but he definitely knows he's a good artist and he can make anything sound good without even trying but in Blakes case the music world wore him down he just didn't give a shit anymore what he could create
powerful scene, underrated movie
Yes it is I started crying
Just interprets the anguish and pain so well
I love this movie. I think the main reason many dislike it is because of its aimlessness in terms of storytelling; many of the traditional structural elements of narrative media, are generally absent (i.e. the protagonist needs something, discovers something about him/herself, takes action, and either succeeds or fails in the attempt, concluding in some semblance of satisfaction/conclusion for the audience, etc.). Rather, it attempts to capture the state of a person's mind in the days leading up to the decision to stop living, (as shown from the perspective of, "Kurt Cobain"), uncomfortable as that may be for the audience to experience. In that regard, the film succeeds brilliantly, as many who have experienced, or who are currently trapped within, a state of utter hopelessness and chronic suicidal thought, can attest. Additionally, the music, acting, and cinematography are incredible. Micheal Pitt completely nailed the role of Blake/Kurt. This movie is absolutely worth experiencing at least once.
Oh bro, I watch this movie at least once a year.
That's one of the things I love about it. Those 3 act plot structures work, but they're so predictable after a while, you start to get a sense for the ebb and flow of a traditional narrative and no matter how well it's executed you cant help but think " of of course" Some of my favorite films have that narrative structure so i'm not dismissing them, but films like last days are refreshing. It's like watching life. There aren't those satisfying plot elements, but it seems so genuine. ANd the stilted dry acting, you find yourself loving little hand gestures or pauses in delivery that seem so real and almost funny in how much it reminds you of things you do or people you actually know.
Nothing wrong with the movies structure but they missed the using narative. I know it is not just about that but it might of been a good idea to show that. Kurt didn't leave and just go into the woods he fucked off for weeks at a time at a hotel because he couldn't stand the people in his house Courtney would have over. The scope of his end of life struggle could of been made slightly wider without ruining the current structured view.
I think it's the opposite. The film makes a point of NOT capturing Blake's state of mind. It keeps saying: you'll never know. There is one scene that actually spells it out: Blake comes to a fork in the forest path. He stands there for a minute and chooses one path and not the other. Why? You'll never know.
@@markomaras6495 that's an interesting view point as well.
Blake doesn’t say anything about his mental state in the film, but this lets you know more effectively than words just how much pain he’s enduring.
One of Sant's best. This scene says everything about how an artist deals. If only, in their mind.
this is how pain sounds.
Genuine art, anyone who understands that understands good music
very velvet undergroundish
@@thegoldengrundle9663 Yes, but Nirvanas sound was simple, raw, unique. If u dont play the guitar i can teach u 20 of their songs in a week. When u actually are playing them, u suddenly understand what paul MccArthy said about Nirvana"They were the beatles for the kids in the late 80's and 90's)
Shivers...
👍
I was very young watching this movie. Huge Nirvana fan throughout middle school and high-school. Didn’t know what to make of this when I found it, but knew I had stumbled on something unique and it’s stayed with me for decades
This & that elephant movie about Columbine shooters. I accidentally found both these movies on like IFC when I was like 12-13 maybe 14 years old & I stayed home from school & both gus films were played back to back & I ain't ever been right since
The film was great, I like Gus Van Sant's style
this movie is incredible. before, I was in depression and I was very suicidal. Thank god, I'm healed now and things are getting better, but this movie is showing exactly what I personally got through. I just understand so much this feeling of the identity who is slowly dissapering : ur not a girl or a boy anymore, u don't have a name, u don't have origins, sexual orientation, etc... Everything that was making you being you is dissapering. I also relate a lot about the "fear of others" that we can clearly see from "Blake", he is just so scared to see anyone, he starts talking to himself bc he is the only one person that he can/want to.
So yeah this movie is just incredible, I love the fact that there's not a lot of things that is happening, he is very calm and unstresseful, I also feel that I'm (or was) not alone and that some people are living the same things than me. It's a very comfortable movie for me.
(sorry if there's mistakes, English is not my first language)
The voice stops abruptly….*chills*. Powerful scene.
Ever notice that there isn’t a single nirvana song that fades out? They all just...STOP. You know?
@@closer71 negative creep fades out
it's kinda funny to see people saying "this movie sucks but the musics are good" ,well the cinema does not mean hollywood people, this is really good movie about death,it is not for making people enjoy it,art sometimes disturures people
Absolutely agree.
So true
It's a fabulous movie. It's a movie about sound. Death is in it, but it's about sound. Watch how the sound is behind the beginning scenes. He's slowly leaving the world and the sound stays with him until he gets completely away from everything. So, leaving the world, leaving the sound behind, playing sound and then totally leaving the world for silence. That said, I totally dig Michael Pitt in a black slip and combat boots.
hatice bayrak haklısııııın
hatice bayrak thank you dude, this movie is truly beautiful and don't know how people can say such things about it
I always liked Michael pitt. This movie made me love him.
The best part if this great film ... Powerful stuff! Michael Pitt is some talented young man
that is the way of emotion. a way for nothing left to loose. i love it because i know it.
That's what's going on inside of my body sometimes
The art of pain in the feeling of his individual feeling expressed into music from rest in peace Kurt
Pitt's music is awesome af. Juggling between acting and this, good job.
This movie has more than action and words.....It makes you think and feel
This was powerful
My mother passed yesterday... that's how i feel
How do you feel today? I wish you all the best
Man I’m sorry.
Huge KC and Nirvana fan almost all my life. I dug this movie! I tend to find redeeming qualities and don't mind the arty kinda stuff. Thank you gus van sant, LOVE this jam scene and the Venus in Furs scene hooked me up with the timeless Velvet Underground.
I grew up with this song ❤️
I accidently slowed it down to half speed... nice effect!!
christian benavides with the icon on the bottom right, where you change the quality you can also change the speed of the video
This how i feel with my disability and aspergers
holy shit this is my universe
Gosh I love this film. Linked to the worst day of my life
Rest in Peace Kurt
I like this song alot actually
my favourite scene! Thank you...
thank you, very inspiring
Шикарный парт фильма, прям до мурашек
That's jamming
kurt openly admitted in interviews that he was suicidal...but that doesn't make him a candidate to actually do it..we all feel hopeless and feel suicidal at times...but doesn't mean we actually gonna do it...his statements was used against him by the beneficiary of his death
If you’ve never had a breakdown like this are you even a musician?
Pure Kino
I make a song later to see that scene... recording sounds, tones and drums, screams too. I loved it. Was special and was like crude rock
Wish this was on iTunes
I had it years ago on my ipod/mp3player thing, downloaded it off a sharing site
Great love this moment
Music from the inside
beautiful
Thanks Gus
yeah, definitely one of the best scenes. I want the loop pedal
I watched a pitts interview on this film, he said this was his music and had nothing to do with film or kurt, used it for the film. Sounds like something kurt would do
AWESOME
y 5 años despues no dejo de escucharl
You are greatly missed kurt Cobain
this scene inspired me so much .
Watch Paranoid Park if you love Gus Van Sant's cinema style.
Y ya está cerca ese día , esta canción es el alimento para mi dolor.
Gracias Kurt, por esa inspiración 💀👍🏻⚰
El Kurt no querría que hicieras algo que dañará a los que te rodean brou
Sean pocos o muchos no merecen tal dolor
Это что-то гениальное. Вроде разброс звуков, но такая глубокая мелодия в итоге
If you want to listen this..then you have to somewhere ....somewhere you have to be close....
fuckiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin triiiiiiiiiiiiiiipin
This is how I imagine Kurt would just jam by himself with a memory man pedal through a Marshall stack or something lol
This song....
Eu ainda estou aqui.....
años sin escuchar esto, me lo sabia de memoria, estoy jodido :(
This aged well.
chile presente esta pelicula la vi a los 15 años

It be like that sometimes.
PRETTY SURE MICHAEL PITT IS DOING THIS, HE PLAYS GUITAR AND DRUMS
It is him doing that.
sorry guys it's just the music score, he is a good guitar player though
IDENTIC (Y)
i love a letra dela
Kurt😟😥
What he probably means is that this is Kurts jam, not pagoda's..I heard that when they couldn't get the rights to the original song (to use it in the movie), they covered it but changed a few things so Courtney couldn't say anything.
@mdstmouse7 ok, this song is THAT DAY... tnx!
@mdstmouse7 you're rigth... this son is That Day
tnx!
@spongebobslushpants1 I was searching and the correct name is THAT DAY.
Tnx!
@mdstmouse7

why do you say this is not Featus?
Tnx!

I've been known to make music like this but lost interest. One day hopefully I'll be inspired again.
Aveces Llueve.
Kurt si Asia Buena musica
Hey dude, what was the song that they were going to use? Was it by Kurt? Could you link what you're talking about here.
I can see Kurt Cobain totally doing this. Thank God for the looping devices huh
Ryan Gosling, has no Adam's Apple...She's Cute.
Is it on spotify?
the real size is 4:3 it seems différent
please help me find an mp3 version of this song! this is NOT fetus by pagoda
Like it. i could drum a lot more atmospheric though
Hi
Nirvana Last Days
The worlds needs you kurt Cobain
Is there tabs?
I hate myself
I personally still have a very hard time being completely sold on the "fact" that he killed himself. There is just too much smoke around the whole thing. And where theres smoke there is usually some sort of fire. I disagree and dont think he killed himself. To me its just hype. Im not buying it. Its obviously a possiblity but Im not completely sold on it. Im just not. Spit at me if you want to. lol peace Love to Kurt
What is the name of the song and who plays it.
+Z0mbieKing Michael pitt From the movie (Last Days)
Hmm...
Anyone know tabs or chords
Рома едет
does anyone know how to find this song as it is clearly NOT fetus by pagoda
What is Pagoda? I keep seeing them mentioned. Both songs performed by Blake/Kurt in the film are written and performed solely by Michael Pitt, Van Sant didn't even have anything to do with them. Both should be located in the end credits. I'd look it up but I don't have the DVD.
i JUST WANNA DIE!
are you Ok
X
This is the only good scene of the film. Almost saves the rest of the film, too.
its so obvious right? There are similar murders every day, done cleverly, by ordinary pp. every day, to appear as suicides and the detectives are all over it and figure it out meticulously pc.by pc. What is this woman made out of that she rolls out a lame story and alibi ,in the midst of a divorce, being cut from the will of one of the most revered, talented and rich rock stars on the planet. What did she have to gain by not doing it, having it done? But the crap police work slays me
Great tune film wasn't great
Мда
This film was a load of bullshit but this track's great.
He's a terrible drummer tbh. What the fuck was that?
Great song. Horrible movie
