About 10 years ago I went to a hifi store with intentions of buying B&W's speakers, tried them with these 10.2's, I actually preferred the 10.2's and the price was £100+ more for the B&W's. Still using now, still happy with them.
Been using these for a (big) desktop, on stands. Cambride Audio AM10 can drive them just fine with 35W. Mind you, I don't crank them up till hearing loss levels.
I 1000% agree with your review of the Wharfedale 10.2 speakers. I have 2 pairs of 10.1's, their younger siblings and they are excellent. In 1975 I purchased my first Wharfedale Denton 2XP's and in 1976 traded them in for a pair of Wharfedale Glendale 3XP's, which I still own and are working fine 41 years on! Yes! That means I myself am 'vintage' and so are my Wharfedales! I have been a Wharfedale nut since I was 16.
i have heard the 10.2 and it is very good speaker. the tweeter is amazing and the bass is very tight. also the 10.1 is very good. almost the same bass response and more pronounced midrange.
I bought my 10.1s the other day for about $65 ( £55 ) and they are utterly sublime, the range of them kills my old B&W 602s *and* my Eltax Symphonys, well worth the purchase :O
Hello! The Elac speakers are also good but here the diamond 10.2 is a discontinued loudspeaker what started in 2010(?) and the Elac B6.2 is a new model, based on the succesful B6. I bought a pair of diamond 10.2 about 1,5 years ago and very happy with them. I own and collected many loudspeakers highlight the wharfedales - they were always good quality, driveable, clear and had good bass response at bottom end. The new Elac B6.2 has also good bass response, clear sound but....I think the wharfedale has better cabinet, looks better. The sound is smoother. Can easily drive on any amps,do not belive it needs a lot of power because of the 86 dB sensitivity. The new Elac B6.2 has one better option: the front bass reflex port.It is good when you have not enough space behind the loudspeakers.
Hello! The diamond 10.2 is the biggest bookshelf in the 10 series and I think it has as bigger cabinet as the most of bookshelves in our days.Height : 364 mm Width: 223 mm Depth: 301 mm. The mid-bass driver is also bigger than standard 6,5 size.Because of the sizes and the kevlar woofer and the good bass-reflex tune tha loudspeaker has very good bass response. The tweeter is conventional size 25,4 mm fabric soft dome type with neodymium magnet.
Delete have a better mid range klispch, do they have anchors to hang up on the wall. I looking for good pair of surround sides with also a good wide dispersion
In my country Diamond 10.2 cost 243 euro, diamond 225 for 374 euro (I found it in discount for 318 euro, and elac debut b6 for 400 euro (discount also).I have heard b6 before six months and I got crazy WOW.Before them I had audition Paradigm titan monitor v6 (strong base but shrill),dali zensor 3 (just good with medium-light base),paradigm mini monitor (shrill),wharfedale 220 (perfect mids) and last elac b6.I couldn't believe my ears (great mids-highs and bass response like a sub shaking the room).I audition elac 1.5 hour !! in dealer's shop.i'm between b6 and 225.I like strong/heavy bass and soft mids nad higs.I don't know if the whf 225 has strong bass. Also I read that b6 is very good at off-axis response (2 meters high on library).Whf 225 I read that off-axis isn't so good. What intergated amp you suggest.
Vasili Psihopedas That sucks. I've had issues with speakers both expensive and cheap, but I do think quality control slips more on the low end for a reason. What are you replacing them with?
I'm hearing good things about the Q3020 and the mission lx2. i probably broke the speakers myself pushing them to hard for to long. lots of great parties these past 2 years!
+Mrs P Absolutely. I misspoke. The 225 is in line with all the others in this comparison in terms of driver size. But the price is considerably higher than three 10.2 can be had for. What are your thoughts on the 225?
Assuming price isn't an issue, is there a difference between the Diamond 220 and 225 as far as the highs and mids are concerned? I'm thinking of either 220 with yst-sw012 8" sub or just the 225 by itself. The receiver is going to be Yamaha r-n602. Which would be better?
Rohit Thomas In that scenario, I'd always opt for the sub. But that's just a personal preference. And I rarely have layout or size restrictions that would preclude me from having one
ziggy8757 I actually compared them in the video. I like the Elac, but it's not quite as good as the Wharfefale. But the Elac is less expensive, and easier to find. You can't go wrong with either, but I think it's worth it to try and find a set of Wharfedales.
Laying them on their side changes the sound profile. This may be an issue, but it may not. It depends on how you are going to sit relative to the speakers. But also, these in particular have curved sides so it poses an actual physical challenge, especially on stands.
Epic Nation You want to look for speakers with high sensitivity ratings, like Klipsch. But really "loud" is a complex subject comprised of many factors. Namely what you're using to power the speakers.
I didn't have a chance to, though they're going to have much different sound signatures. The ribbon tweeter and the fact that it has a smaller 5 1/4" driver would put them in a different category. Have you heard the B1? Would be interested in your thoughts.
q acustic 3020 250$ , elac debut b6 280$ these 2 are better speakers according to revews , the sub 300 world is masive for bookshelf speakers have you tested those 2 ?
teo buteraa Q acoustics all the way. Wharfedale uses 3rd party support and you can't even order parts if you live outside the UK. Personally I think any speaker that doesn't directly deal with customers is shady. Wharfedales also are notorious for burning voice coils.
WHAT? i listen the q acoustic 320s and the Wharfedale Diamond 220 Both are good but the bass and middle tons are a bit better and warmer on the 220s and you get 5 year Guarantee from the box , i'm not getting your point
Not only is the build quality of the cabinets a lot worse on the WF diamonds, it's also looks worse imo. WF is known to have smoother sound, but that doesn't make it better than other sound signatures, it's a matter of preference.

I have never heard such bass from any other small bookshelf like my diamond 9.1, they are SUPERB
Been using these for a (big) desktop, on stands.
Cambride Audio AM10 can drive them just fine with 35W.

Its work good with yamaha RX N600 network receiver ?Plz reply Because I plan to buy

I have four 10.1’s and one 10cs with a sub. Very nice sounding. Use w/ denon x3400h. Just need to pick up some atmos speakers.
Its work good with yamaha RX N600 network receiver ?Plz reply Because plan to buy this
@@SangramVID it should sound good. As with any setup u may need to treat your room with acoustic panels.
I bought my 10.1s the other day for about $65 ( £55 ) and they are utterly sublime, the range of them kills my old B&W 602s *and* my Eltax Symphonys, well worth the purchase :O
Great video! please do more of these type of videos.

How does the Diamond 10.2 hold up against sow if it’s current peers?
these sound fantastic, but i had to send them back once. we're totally fried and now on the new pair i got , a coil rub is audible at low frequencies.
Which speakers do you recommend to use with a computer, say in a computer desk or standing beside it, for close hearing?
Logitech Z625 (actually really good for a small prepackaged deal), or a set of KRK Rockit monitors
You mention the diamond 220, but don't you think the diamond 225 would be a much better/fair comparison ?
+Mrs P Absolutely. I misspoke. The 225 is in line with all the others in this comparison in terms of driver size. But the price is considerably higher than three 10.2 can be had for. What are your thoughts on the 225?

Always use a good subwoofer with any bookshelf speaker, best sound ever.
Philharmonic Audio Affordable Accuracy Monitors.
Oswaldo Martinez Aviles I am still contemplating those, as well. Which budget model would you recommend (to rival these)?
how does it compare with the elac b6? that is a good competitor for wharfedales
ziggy8757 I actually compared them in the video. I like the Elac, but it's not quite as good as the Wharfefale. But the Elac is less expensive, and easier to find. You can't go wrong with either, but I think it's worth it to try and find a set of Wharfedales.
I'm looking at buying these but I would like to know why it's bad to turn them on they're side?
Laying them on their side changes the sound profile. This may be an issue, but it may not. It depends on how you are going to sit relative to the speakers. But also, these in particular have curved sides so it poses an actual physical challenge, especially on stands.
Thanks I was looking at the B&W 685 but they're a bit pricey
Epic Nation I'd also look at the Definitive SM450 I mentioned in the video. Great speaker at the current used price it's getting
Ok cool I am looking for some pretty loud speakers so do you have any suggestions?
Epic Nation You want to look for speakers with high sensitivity ratings, like Klipsch. But really "loud" is a complex subject comprised of many factors. Namely what you're using to power the speakers.
did you compare it to the Airmotive B1.

I got the Elac B6.2 (brand new) for $150 during the holidays. How can
the Wharfedale beat that?
Wish you would have actually shown the size of the speakers and a demo maybe instead of just taking about the speakers the whole time...
Wharfedale Denton, but it's even more romantic and musical, connected to your soul!
q acustic 3020 250$ , elac debut b6 280$ these 2 are better speakers according to revews , the sub 300 world is masive for bookshelf speakers have you tested those 2 ?
I've tested the Elac B6. It's a wonderful speaker for the money, but it's not a better speaker than the Wharfedale. I haven't tested the Q Acoustic.
you are recording audio way to quiet.
Wharfedale Diamond 220 all the way
teo buteraa Q acoustics all the way. Wharfedale uses 3rd party support and you can't even order parts if you live outside the UK. Personally I think any speaker that doesn't directly deal with customers is shady. Wharfedales also are notorious for burning voice coils.

i have heard side by side the wharfedale 225 and 10.2 and i liked 10.2 better. even the person working there thought the 10.2 were better
