I bought the Audiobook for TWI when it came out because... It was long. I was up-to-date and by the time the next audiobook came out. At some point I wrote twenty-five thousand of my own words retelling one of my own stories in pirate's world.
    This has been surreal.

Just found out about the series in July 2024. I am so glad there is now an Amazon e-book option for these so I can pop them into my Kindle. Don't even worry about publishing physical copies if it's going to put you into a bad contract or financially hurt the business. I'm sure we'd all love to see that huge set of books on the shelf, but we rather you just keep making it longer.

I discovered TWI earlier this year and purchased on audible. I know I could have got the content for free but the narration is so good and the author deserves payment for her hard work. I’m already on book 8 and I can’t stop reading/listening. The characters and story has captured my heart. I’ve searched for more content but there’s little out there apart from the discord channel. So big thanks for this interview it’s great to hear from Pirateaba through Andrea Parsneau and I totally respect her decision for anonymity. I’m sure this series will have the success it deserves soon

Rhanks Matt for such wonderful interview, one of the best authors interview on this platform, I especially admire your editing and various insert of the ai assistant and various TWI artwork, that enhance the experience and engagement of viewers for such elusive author like pirateaba.
It is great how candid pirate answered all the questions and make us understand their perspective more comprehensively.
Special shouout t Andrea for making this interview possible and providing consistent voice work for pirate's text, they have frankly become the human voice for pirate's world for me.

😂OMG Assistant is killing it with the details. Typo-murders in times of old campfire stories had me dying.
Seriously though, I'm super grateful for The Wandering Inn. Like a really good anime or Manga, the story can be cute and comforting and wholly dark and devastating... it can speak to the truth of so many different characters and ways in which people interact with their world and environment. Pirate Alba seems so nonchalant but they certainly have a sense and grasp of emotional intelligence and psychology. Not to mention comedic timing... it's good to see a bunch of people commenting and wanting to read. I'm dyslexic and I absolutely love the audiobooks, Andrea Parsneau is a Powerhouse of talent. I'm also a huge fan of Michael Kramer and Kate Reading who read The Wheel of Time, I know Robert Jordan was brought up in here and you can feel that sense of richness in the world development, and in the vocal creation of the different characters. I mean how many different ways are there to roll your r's for antonym? 🐜
    Baseball chapter anyone?
Waiting for June 11th. ❤ Thanks for the interview.

Great interview! Thanks for making this happen. I finally caught up with Wandering Inn a month ago, which was a nice accomplishment, I thought. It is a really great series. I love the imagery of the live Patreon reading while they write. That hearkens back to an old AOL chat channel were folks would wwrite fiction and then hand the story off to another person to write for a while. Was called The Forest. Was a neat channel in hte early 90s.

Wow! What a video, I have just started The Wandering Inn earlier this year through audible and am just starting book 9 "Tears of Liscor". I understand that im early in the story still, but the attachments i have to the characters and world.. by the dead gods I will be sad when I get to the end of what's currently available audible, but inspired by knowing that the next book will come soon. To know that I've only jumped into the massive ocean that is this series only fills me with excitement for the oncoming future!
This is my first experience hearing from the auther themselves, and I am completely enamored throughout the conversation. Hearing Andrea Parsneau voice, their words felt appropriate considering I've been hearing her tell the story as if listening "across the campfire" which is so eloquently described as how their story feels told, it is a real treasure. As a newer listener and a big fan, thank you Matt's Fantasy Book Reviews, thank you Andrea Parsneau, and thank you Pirateaba(!) for giving me this heartwarming insight into the creation of what is one of my favorite series I've ever had the pleasure of listening to 💚
    GO GOBLINS!!!

I discovered the audiobook first, then looked for TWI online serial. I then joined the Patreon channel.
I found it a bit difficult to read anywhere except my computer screen, due to my eyesight.
I copied the text to Balabolka and got it to read to me. That made it so much more accessible for me.
But I make sure to buy the Audiobooks because Andrea puts in the emotions and Idiocracies of the characters. It becomes so much more enjoyable that way.

This was a great interview. Reading TWI has absolutely raised my standards for books. I can no longer get back to reading one dimensional stories told from a single POV that never seem to elicit any emotions from me. If I am not at least shedding a tear or grinning to myself every once in a while, I stop reading the book. Not many books actually get me actually sobbing like TWI sometimes does though.

I think Pirateaba is smart to remain anonymous.
In addition to privacy and other considerations, what can be observed with every form of media is that there will be people who become very obsessive about the work that is created, whether it's music, books, or films.

What a wonderful interview! As an avid fan who devours every chapter the day they are published, you asked some great questions that I had long had in the back of my mind and its great to get an answer to!

Not only that but after analyzing each cover of the the wandering inn, I decided I needed a logo for my Raoke Gang series. And I spent 7 hours designing one that I'm happy with. Regardless if I enjoyed the wandering inn or not, at least I would have learned from Pirateaba and created something that will be beneficial for my own writing career. Thank you so much for organizing this interview. @@MattsFantasyBookReviews

I'm about ten hours into the audiobook of the first volume, and already I'm hooked. I first heard about it due to its length, and I was extremely sceptical that it could be any good considering the short time in which it has been published. But everywhere I went, people were singing its praises.
So, I decided to get the audiobook. I usually prefer reading to listening, but I'm already reading five other books and taking about 3 and a half hours a day to get through those. Adding yet another series would cut into that, so an audiobook was the best choice, as I can listen to it while doing mundane tasks where I can't actually read.
And now, I'm enjoying it more than any other book I'm reading, and find myself eager to get back to it. I have to pace myself though. The reason I read a lot of books at one time is because I have a tendency to get burnt out on one book/series, or another one catches my eye, and I DNF good books because of this. I have to stick to a schedule because I know what will happen otgherwise; but I really don't want to.

Not really a fan of Beware of Chicken, it's a bit too lighthearted/slice of life for me. It reads as if written for teenagers. However, Worm by Wildbow is great!

I almost didnt want to watch this interview because there was a part of me that wanted to keep the face/voice behind the series a mystery, (which actuallly made me kind of understand why Niers Astoragon acts the way he does) but im very glad I decided to check it out and get a look at the author behind one of my favorite series. also side note im so happy that one of my favorite modern authors also likes my all time favorite author, robert jordan, I dont find many people in day to day life who also enjoy his books and it brings me so much joy that pirateaba also likes them.
