That this movie popped up at a time I'm conflicted for the past couple of years knowing that I have not fulfilled my talent of writing. I just stopped after meeting my daughter's late father and every time I read my daughter's short stories I don't know what to do, whether to publish them to make myself feel better for being such a coward. What an incredible movies, I was captivated from the beginning and this might be a sign to get started with my blog, start small. I've convinced my mother to share her life story and all the supernatural things she's seen and experienced since she was a little girl.
This movie has revived something in me and reminded me of my daughter's late father and our relationship, how we met young, loved each other so much and yet were kept apart by small things we could have worked out but in both our foolishness and stupid pride on my part I refused to forgive even worse when he passed I had just lied to him to get rid of him that I'd met someone and we're getting married knowing very well he couldn't handle it. I had met someone indeed who had asked me to marry him but I did not love him at all and would never. This movie took me back and truly we can make choices but can we live with them because here we are, 3 years later I can not live with mine. I can not stop thinking of him and I'm so sad I don't know if I'll ever meet someone ever again.
This movie has encouraged me to pick up my pen and start writing again, perhaps this is it, my happiness is me writing again. He always believed in me, that I would write a book one day and when he realized our daughter was just as talented he said, ''Oh my ... she got it from you.'' I'll never forget how he thought highly of me and always commended anything I did well. May he rest in peace. Thank you for sharing this movie I appreciate it.

Jeremy Irons has to be the best storyteller on the entire planet. He puts more expression into one word than most of us do in an entire day. It must be so daunting being in the same movie as him. I can't imagine it. He just dominates whatever scene he's in. How? It's a force he delivers the words with that is just uncanny. I don't think you can teach this. It's just something he's been blessed with. And it's not just the auditory. His facial expressions and body language as well all work in conjunction to weave a tale so very wondrous in its depth, clarity and purpose. You almost don't want to breathe until he's finished for fear you'll miss the slightest intonation. He truly performs at a level few have ever broached.

@@ball-science Thank you. Much appreciated. What's interesting is when we express ourselves in areas we have stronger feelings about, we tend to do that expressing a whole lot better. Our inner enthusiasm on the subject pushes our writing to a higher level. I think it's true with everyone. And you can really see it in the way people write about something, whether that inner interest is there.

Wrong. Watch the movie again. He abandoned her and went back to the US because he couldn't let go that she lost the manuscript on the train. It's not her fault she moved on with her life as he NEVER EVEN INTENDED to go back to her after that. He said, "After all those years, I thought about her everyday, broken BECAUSE OF WHAT I DID TO HER". He subsequently confesses that "I LOVED WORDS MORE THAN I LOVED THE WOMAN WHO INSPIRED ME TO WRITE THEM".
She was not the traitor, he was and therefore his own suffering is because of HIS OWN CHOICE and how he has to live with it: "We all make choices in life and the hardest thing is to live with them" is the WHOLE THEME of the movie.

Je suis sidérée! Quel film!

A movie that gives you waves of emotions. Oceans and oceans of feelings bursting in you. It was inspiring. Some movies ruin you for life because you can't go back to a stupid Blissless existence. I was given a passion for writing out of the blue, due to the circumstances of my life ( love and pain, I had to bleed on paper not to go crazy because of a desperate situation). He's a writer...and, ironically, he has become my Muse... He read all of my poems, and wanted to be their editor... Unfortunately, it was ended abruptly...I sent my book just to remain in his memory forever, for we can't have another " forever", apart from this...And now I live with the sense that I'm missing something...if I had so much to say to the world, and it's lieing in the table...Love IS pain, yes... 💜💔.
