I’ve had an alcohol problem and it certainly does, you self sabotage because every time you get angry you end up running to it as punishment instead of just sucking your frustration. A lot of it came from my sober mother who started convincing me I had a problem coz I was 21 going out Friday and Saturday. Then I started convincing myself I had a problem which I ended up struggling to resist drinking every night of the week. Now at 26, I’ve calmed down a lot but even if I get known for having one drink on an occasion, I get an earful for doing so. Just puts more pressure on you and creates temptation.
Same, got sick of those bullshit pyramid conversations as well. Been off the booze & cocaine for 6 years...

I quit doing weed... I won't even say quit because I am not even forcing myself. If weed or cocaine is the best part of your life atm, yeah it may be hard to quit, but if you got friends, work that you love, and just like pc games better or even girls.. it is easy to "quit."
Well said alcohol and weed is ok in moderation but as someone who has never drunk or done drugs I think more people should be encouraged to stop it because it kills too many and people need to overcome these problems

Stopped drinking and doing packet 6 years ago. He's right, the conversation on coke can get dark and you easily go down rabbit holes with things that may or may not actually be real. I prefer living in reality tbh

I like Noel but it was easy because he was on cocaine which is not really addictive. Now had he been on opiates and kicked it like that I would be more impressed because I have first hand experience and the withdrawals are hell for like 3 or 4 days. After that it's mostly mental.

I don't buy it that Noel was ever really hard into drugs. Sure he smoked a bit of weed and maybe dabbled in coke on a handful of occasions for that rockstar experience....but really, I reckon he was level headed the majority of the time. You kind of need to be if you are performing and keeping a band going for over decade.
I think he was doing loads of coke. I'm sure he more than dabbled.
