Michael Ball was first known for playing Marius in the original 1985 London production of Les Misérables, as well as Raoul in the 1987 The Phantom of the Opera. He has since gained acclaim in productions including Aspects Of Love, Hairspray and Sweeney Todd. It has been said that he gained a lot of weight to play the part of Edna Turnblad in Hairspray. I have some doubts about when this weight gain actually began. Anyway, he will still remain handsome to his legions of female fans! I have been a fan of MB since 1999 and was able to see him in two concerts in Salt Lake City. He was fantastic! Unfortunately he never came back and I doubt I will return to the UK. i was there in 1986 but I was not aware of him then.
