A lot of umbrellas and capes are made out of that, some with higher quality have Teflon, so they would protect you from most acids, even if they were more aggressive that what they showed in this movie. 🙂
This movie brings me back to early 90s when the acid rain warning happened for real. It wasn’t crazy as this movie but I remember being warned to avoid the rain.

Acid is a catch all term. Not all acid is reactive to every substance otherwise it wouldnt be possible to store/transport it. Somehow all the trees and vegetation has withstood it. Same withe concrete/tar covered roads.
