In this video we get to see the new concrete weir spillways finished and sheet pile starting to be installed. The Sanford Dam is located on what used to be Sanford Lake. Sanford Lake is located in Mid Michigan. This footage was filmed on August 5, 2022. This was after the collapse of the Edenville Dam on May 19, 2020. Wixom Lake was rapidly rising due to heavy rainfall and the Edenville dam could not hold back the water. The side of the dam failed sending water rushing towards Sanford Village. The aftermath and damage left behind is devastating. Make sure you subscribe to catch the follow up videos I will be filming.

There has definitely been alot of progress this past month and alot more to come. The live cams are great but they don't the justice of the full scope of everything going on.
I wonder if Mr. Snapper at 6:05 was able to get out of that weir sump. He looks cool as a cucumber for now, but if he stays jarred up like that for too long he's gonna be in a pickle.
Kind of neat watching one pile of sheet turn into a sheet pile. English is crazy!
Great job once again Jordan keep up the great videos you bring us. I was down in Midland a month ago and stopped to see Sanford lake and I was just amazed at how much the trees have grown.

Still here watching Jordan, just don't comment to each vid. Good to hear you've got some farming able to continue, here it's so dry land is sitting vacant and turning to dust! We are usually surrounded by rice fields and such, but not this year or last. Many almond orchards are being ripped out since it's a high water use crop. Here in northern California area I'm in we are rationing water, but there's a lot more people could do to save water like not watering grass lawns and the like!! Great reporting my friend. Hope your able to get into your new house soon. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I always unfortunately end up forgetting about the live cams until it gets dark then I go "dang to late to see work happening🤦"
You can scroll back the video on the live cams up to 12 hours in the past. I use that a lot because I'm not usually up at the crack of dawn when they get started each day.
I know im just saying for seeing as its happening. I guess what I need to start doing is set remainders on my phone or something so i can check it out live lol
Heh, at 10:58 you start to say that the rapids will be gone within a month of you releasing this video. Technically true as they were gone a few days before you released this video.😁 I was so surprised to tune into the Live Cam Saturday morning and seeing that they were working to finish the plug. You said on the park cam chat that they were going to finish it Monday, so does that mean you missed it because they gave you the wrong info?
Curious as to if anybody actually plants cottonwood or willow on their property.
Watching on the Live cam, they've actually been using two types of machines to drive the sheet pile in. The first is the one in your video that seems to get them about half way in. Then there is a grey machine that sounds more like a traditional pile driver with a distinct bang bang bang sound as it drives the pile even deeper.
Plans changed at the last minute but I am kept in the loop. I was out there Saturday morning to film the dike being closed up and got some amazing video. I am working on editing this now.
We will be stopping by to visit the Wixom Lake Steam Shovel on Labor Day weekend. We will most likely be staying in Midland. Is there any bed and Breakfasts you would recommend ?
DNR or the county sure could use the fund's with the sale of some of the vegetation and trees from the lake bed 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Secord I was told was finished. My friend lives on Secord Lake and his son told me just Friday that the Dam was completed but obviously not.
Young man your videos will be used for Centuries to come by many people. Great job,maybe consider doing a legal use copyright because you can at least make some money

Noticed the 2nd spillway from the sheet piles doesn't appear as finished as the others, the very top looks like it's rough concrete, not fresh cast concrete.
That is where the pass through gate once was

All the flowers n vegetables that they're growing in the garden they sell them or they use them for the restaurants around the area n or for the little convenient stands on the side of the road?
