D. Well yeah the gameplay on both is the same and very simple, but the N64 version has more details, is superior graphically and doesn’t have the horrific voice acting.
@@mayovanexrodriguez6753 I always found that this game never explained anything. So I felt lucky by making it to the private party mission. Still enjoyed it as a kid though.
Legendary game, and those developer videos and messages in the end are adorable. I am so grateful to them for what they have done, true pioneers of PS gaming.
53:34 "Leave your mask, Ethan!" Um, Candice, you DO know the mission was to make Golistyn a traitor right? If Ethan left his mask, then it makes it hard to make it look like Golistyn is a traitor as someone could find the mask and deduce that someone tried frame Golistyn.
@D. This doesn't even look close to being terrible. And no, he's not "seriously comparing this to Silent Hill, Resident Evil, and Metal Gear Solid." He didn't even mention those games. Just because it's not as good as those games doesn't mean it's terrible. Only someone who sets his standards at the highest level and doesn't settle for less would say that.
I wish I had played this version back in 1998 versus the Nintendo 64. I still enjoyed it, putting in many hours, but this looked so much better in terms of music and graphics.

No PS controllers have pressure sensitive buttons so there will be no difference between light and heavy button presses. Perhaps you mean quick button presses? Or light stick movement?
You know, watching this whole longplay after having played the N64 version as a kid, makes me feel cheated and that I missed the true experience. Guess that's how it goes, even back then.

Hi World of Longplays , I've been trying all this time to play this game with the emulator but when I select the mode, the game just doesn't start, What can I do??? I really want to play it again
The game is awesome but I was only able to get a copy in Spanish back in the day and I didn't understood a single word at the beginning, but I like to think that part of my current Spanish knowledge started with this game XD
When I played the N64 version of this, I imagined Candice having an American accent and NOT a British accent like in the PS1 version. Some of her lines come off as a British trying to imitate an American in using slang or what not. Just seemed a bit awkward to me. Nothing against the voice actress though.
I played this on N64 and this makes me wonder: Why did the N64 had better graphics but worse sound? The dialogue wasn't even voiced on N64 and the music sounded worse.
The N64, as the name implies, is a 64-bit console, while the PlayStation is a 32-bit console. That's twice the bits. However, despite being technically less powerful than the N64, the PS1 uses CDs, which have more storage capacity than cartridges, which brings us to the audio. Mission: Impossible's music was recorded in a MIDI format, then compressed to fit on an N64 cartridge. But since the PS1 is capable of CD-quality audio, it could play the music in its original, uncompressed state. This also allowed for more recorded dialogue.
Was there that much of a difference between this version and the N64 version of Mission Impossible; also, the face and identity change happened way too fast in my opinion (unlike in the Tom Cruise film) ?! 🙄😹
One of the most underrated playstation games ever.
So hard. Even than syphon filter and metal gear
The PlayStation port is pretty bad, the N64 original is much better
