Kinda wished that Scorpion, Sub Zero and Kung Lao kameos were replaced with Nightwolf, Kabal, and Skarlet kameos instead. Kinda like the kameos to be all non playable main fighters.

their is a theory they adfded them so people would by the game more on pc so their would be mods to play as them in the game or they wanted to focus more on other things than just the roster
it's not a easy way, with kameos game becomes more diverse and hard for developer to balance, right now there are 360 options to chose, it's insane compared to the past 3 games combined, don't call it lazy, NRS mainly focusing on making innovation to the fighting genre, not all developers would go into this road, but it's very refreshing and in time will get appreciated.

Also in case people are wondering there are many unplayable characters and kameos exclusive to story. For example all playable characters have a kameo versions of themselves that you cannot select and only available in story(IE Scorpion and Subzero has a story mode kameo that uses their current look and moveset). Quan-Chi is dlc only and is not unlockable, this goes for his kameo as well which is exclusive to story mode only and is not unlockable. The blank character slot is not an unlockable character, it’s a character selection extender that will open up a whole other character selection menu for dlc characters, same for the kameo selection menu. Shang Tsung is pre-order dlc only, not unlockable, though you can still unlock and buy skins for him even if you don’t own him. The “24th” character could just be the boss character, Titan Shang Tsung(no he is not playable by normal means). The game is fun, the story is fun as well. As a big fan of MK you will definitely enjoy the game. Trust me you will enjoy the game as much as I am enjoying it.

With the number of special moves and fatalities already implemented in the Kameos, I hope that someday the Kameo fighters would also be playable. I mean, it would bring more combo and gameplay potential and would be a big but understandable missed opportunity if it NRS decided to keep it as it is.

Yooooo Shujinko being in here made me so happy. Deception is my favorite MK game of all time and I used to actually main shujinko in that game. He was a super fun character to play and you would naturally get really good with him in the Konquest mode

According to the Kombat Kast that happened a few hours ago, everything is unlocked thru general play. They did that so that no one feels excluded. If you only like to play single-player, you can unlock things via the various single player modes, same with multiplayer modes. Likewise, if you enjoy both, you can unlock via both ways. Also, if you want to unlock character-specific items, just play as that character. That's how I understood what the devs themselves said. If you're able, I totally support watching it when you can. I may have misunderstood, and don't want to give incorrect info

This is one of the reasons why I will still play MK 11 characters like Jade, Sonya, Jax Night, wolf, Erron Back, Skarlet D’ Vorah and other characters are either not in the game, or would be a tag character!!! But playing MK XL and MK 11 both would be beneficial for online play.

So while there are modern interpretations of Scorpion and Sub-Zero, the kameo versions maintain their classic look. Very cool.

Hyped but if I'm being honest, I'm not really of fan of the kameo fighters mechanic I would want all characters to be playable.
I hope in a future Kombat pack that they will include Judge Dredd & the Dark Dredds, Evil Ernie, & a few Killer Instinct characters would be incredible if it were possible.

I really hate that some cameo fighters looks like from the 80s/90s, but others (Seerena, Goro etc.) look modern
The difference is that seerena and Goro actually look like this in the new timeline, while the classic looking kameos are from the past one.

This is one of the reasons why I will still play MK 11 characters like Jade, Sonya, Jax Night, wolf, Erron Back, Skarlet D’ Vorah and other characters are either not in the game, or would be a tag character!!! But playing MK XL and MK 11 both would be beneficial for online play.
