We did an Avalon River cruise sept 22 along the Seine in France with a 3 day extension to St-Malo and Mont St- Michel with my parents (who are in their mid eighties). It was fantastic. We did chose more active excursions that included hiking, biking and canoeing. My parents could choose other more relaxed walking tours. Some excursions we did together. The meals were memorable. The guides amazing. I hope to do another one soon. My parents had been on multiple Uniworld cruises prior and were impressed with the service level on Avalon, though to be fair, as it was post-Covid, the ship was just at 50% capacity. Overall they said Uniworld was slightly better but they thought for the price compared to Uniworld, Avalon was excellent.
Just starting looking into doing an Avalon cruise as I really like their boats and the more active excursions, specifically the Rhine. However, I'm looking to go in May 2025. As I know the preferred rooms and rates get booked quickly, when are these typically available? I'm not finding anything yet on their sites or should I contact my agent.
The online rates for 2025 should be out by fall. But you definitely want to put your travel advisor in the know as sometimes itineraries are released to them prior to the public. And the earlier your book the better for river cruises.
For me personally....the decor is sublime on Uniworld👌🏻 I'm British and the country house feel is my thing 😍😆
They have the most unique decor of all the River Cruise Lines.
