In this video I find out just how for my new to me 8 year old Nissan leaf will go with a 40Kwh Battery thats 6 years old. I was surprised! thanks for watching.
Your weak cell is common in the 40kWh packs. Your pack is losing range because of the low voltage, the weak cell is limiting your overall usable capacity. If you drive very gently you'll get more usable capacity out of the weak cell.
My Model 3 AWD could do this 240km trip while charged to 80% and still have 70+ km range left (in the winter) without a charging stop at all. This is a reason to not buy 2nd hand EV batteries. That's it.
Good city shopping trolley. 🙃
Indeed, still a fun little car
I would prefer to judge from cell voltage. Glad you made it. Cheers
That's what I was doing it was very close the the guessing bars on the leaf
How much was your battery replacement
The previous owner had it done under warranty. I'm note sure.
Did you ever do a video about how you connected the extra hv battery
I have a smart car with 60miles of range. Would like to get it over 300.
I have a 2 part series but I will be making a better one on this car.

I have noticed this, as long as im only pulling 10000w the car seems to last a very long time.
Idk if that’s worth the anxiety. Didn’t you just put a Tesla battery in it?
not yet, that my next project :)
Interesting perfect grocery getter and not a road trip.
haha it was a adventure for sure. thanks for watching buddy. it will be a trip car once i have the tesla battery in it lol
How long does the supercharge take?
about 45 mins to 75%
How much did the charging cost?
50 bucks... to much...
@@GoingOffGrid101 for the whole trip or 1 charge?
Yikes I was thinking $20 @@GoingOffGrid101
@frankz1125 I left with a full charge it cost 50 bucks for 480km and I got home with 30% battery.
@@GoingOffGrid101 its cheaper then my truck but seems kinda stressful for the savings. Cheers
Slow Down, man. 😆 fix the one bad cell. Almost bet that one bad cell is helping drain the cells around other cells, causing inaccurate readings.
Haha 😄
If there was ever a reason to NOT own an EV that video is one.

@@tomstdenis Did you spend $3500 on your model 3? Lol
