I was issued one of these when I joined the Army in the 80s. Still have it.
Which army?

Good vid, mate!
I often wonder about the thought process behind some things... Someone at a drawing board, designing that shirt decided that Canadian Soldiers needed a flatter collar and couldn't roll sleeves? Fascinating.
Again ...all your vids are VG!
The flattened collar is no doubt a rudimentary attempt at ventilation for changing weather conditions
The button down collar was a feature of Canadian khaki drill shirts during the Second World War. Look for images of John Osborn VC for an example.
great video, but wrong spelling of ''Canadian'' in the intro...............
Once again a great presentation.
These were still being issued when I joined. I was given one upon posting to my battalion in 1985! I was never aware of the collar buttons. It was issued as one of the layers for winter warfare clothing. We tended to not wear the standard combat shirt under the parka. It was thin and provided no insulating advantage and the pockets got in the way if you tried to use them.
Yes, those were still issued in the mid 80’s. Loved it!
Amazing that it survived in such good state. What do you do against moths?
Is it as itchy as the KF shirts?
It will give you pretty bad road rash on your nipples lol
Never did find them itchy, never understood why people say this to me they were just warm and comfortable (uk version)
