His solo stuff like Fire, Love Music 1thru 3, Humble and Ocean ft Eden Nash. You're missing too much of his diversity. Peace and love. You're the best at analyzing music period.

"i lift my eyes to the hills" is a Psalms 121 reference - looking to God for help, except Ren has replaced God with pain, which fits perfectly with the "Lost Faith" theme. Also the choral / angelic voice in the production at the time fits the Bible reference.

The only full album I was excited to hear from start to finish was asleep Token- the last of the trilogy flows perfectly to just push chokehold and let it play all the way through- the ups and downs - this reminds me of how Ren does his switches and never knowing what’s coming and lyrics like no other.

I've watched/listened to this song a dozen times or more and I've come to believe that this song is a commentary on his own art and life. He is the rapper with bravado (Murderer, Down on the Beat, Animal Flow, etc...) and he's also the introvert lost in his pain and depression who can SING (Hi Ren, Sick Boi, Chalk Outlines, etc..). And in the spirit of Hi Ren he's expressing the two sides as characters in the song.

Notice when Ren says "Do it again and again and again" the puppet-string hands in the video are doing the same move that the catgirls on the washing machines in the 'Animal Flow' video do. A more spasmic version is in 'The Hunger', which has similarities in the opening beats with this track. He also raises his fists in that video, like the animation in this one. 'The Hunger' also has the tickity-tik beatboxing bit that's in 'Animal Flow'...

Ren is just unreal. He is totally unlike any other artist that has gone before. Times are changing and I genuinely believe he will be viewed in the future as one of our greats. His depth is very touching and hits a nerve every time. His ability to channel into his music is insane. His production is off the charts, always simple but very effective. His musical talent is a gift to us all and we love him for that... He is just stunning in his capabilities.. (by the way KH, you pretty damn decent too you know 😂)
I think you are onto something in the tying together tracks scheme.
He says "again and again and again.."
And "High" "Ren" and also repeats the Muhammed Ali bar which ties into the again and again bar. Also it may be coincidence but he sings "sons and daughters" "law and order". Sons and daughters was an Australian tv series and law and order was an American tv series.. Could be a connection. I think Rens mind runs so deep there are probably a lot of things that get missed.
Thanks Knox Hill for your amazing uplifting energy and sharp mind!
Keep up the good and important work!

Maybe someone else has mentioned it already, but the lyric "There is blood on the leaves where I fell, falling down" might be a reference to the song Falling Leaves by Billy Talent. A song that is about drug abuse. Given the content of Lost All Faith and the fact that Billy Talent is a Canadian group (if memory serves) and Ren has been living in Canada getting treatment, it wouldn't be that farfetched. Definitely seeing a quartet of tracks released in reverse order
Lost all faith - Introspection about his pain and illness and how it's guides him
Masochist - rip everything up and start again "no one wants to hear another song about how much you hate yourself"
Murderer - he's back, he's dangerous and he's going to kill it
Animal flow - Journey complete the king has his crown, he is the lord of the beasts now !
    Or maybe not 🤷🏼‍♂️

I love this one, the desperation in it speaks to me as someone who also has an auto immune illness, feeling like your body isn't your own and doesn't listen to you any more is some of the worst torment I feel you can go through.

Love the Indian, almost Bhangra, feel towards the end - seriously cool. (The chorus with the high notes almost reminded me of Robbie Williams - never thought I would say that !). Loved it.

I love your reactions and analysis of the songs and lyrics. Of all the latest songs Ren released this one got me a bit with that verse about being an introvert and not deserving anything and living in the constant pain. I feel like that sometimes when my depression gets heavy and it made me tear up for a second. Keep doing your thing ✌

Mr Hill, you know his music for suuuuuuure!. The biblical reference was right in the start to about the Shepherd. I love everything about this. When you're depressed you sometimes think you're being selfish for wanting to be better but don't know how to make yourself better. x

First off, fire reaction as always. Now to the meat of my comment, I’ve noticed that throughout the entire song there is a conversation to be heard. If you look at the colours of the lyrics in the intro (Ren, or some version of Ren in blue; and a fan, or a different obsessive, sick version in red) you will find them again in the video itself. When he sings about living for the weekend and all of that, the lyrics are red, symbolising that the sick and mad version is talking, yet when he switches to the introvert section his voice changes and so does the colour of the lyrics (from red to blue). This pattern repeats itself throughout the track. Interestingly, the chorus’s lyrics are in all sorts of colours, so I’m not too sure what’s going on there
Edit: perhaps in the chorus it’s many many different personas talking/singing
