Coach Richt, Your are truly a great man of God. Not only are you a great football coach, but you taught me lessons of humility, kindness, service, fairness, and integrity. May God bless you and your family.
Tra's message will save more souls than he will ever know. Someone's son or someone's daughter. A beloved brother or a cherished sister. A father or mother struggling to put food on the table for their children. That man is a Light to learn from. A natural born Leader.
Tra-thank you for your bravery in showing your personal struggles. We all have them and do tend to bury them, particularly us men. Your courage is your purpose. Thank you.
We as men are expected to be hard and not have emotions but that is a deadly lie. It is my belief that it is important to express your feelings by allowing the emotions to flow. If not you can have emotional break down.
I love Mark Richt as a coach and a person! He really did a great job with all those youngmen on and off the field that impact them for the rest of their lives. Love you Mark, DGD 4EVER!!!
Wow, what a story. I'm grateful that Mark Richt is back in Athens and is able to contribute to that community. BC of Kirby's success and how Richt's tenure at UGA ended we tend to forget that he was a hell of a coach but most importantly, a great person and role model. It takes a lot of guts for Tra to come out and talk about what was surely a low point in his life.
What is a trophy that sits in a case compared to the saving of a human life? But, believe it or not, there are fans that will take the trophy. Misplaced priorities. Sad world.
I was always amazed how Dawg fans, many of them, could not see what this man brought to the University and Athens community. It was always about "give me wins or get out". UGA was so fortunate to have this man as the face of our program for so many years. This man will have a trophy that will not rust or be corrupted in heaven. I am grateful for what Kirby has done - but if you heard that profanity-laced half-time speech that was captured on video - you have to wonder. If I had a son, who would I want to be his coach? For me, there is no hesitation. Mark Richt. And for me - nothing else says as much about the man. Or any man.
I love Coach Richt he was so much more than football, and that is why he is so well loved. However, in reference to Kirby's comments at halftime. I dont feel that determines a person's actions outside of football. Every locker room I've ever been a part of things like that were said. Whether from the head coach, the DC, the OC, or a team caption. It is just the nature of going into "battle". I understand that some people will take offense and that is okay. Not every everyone has the heart of a warrior, and not every warrior has a heart of stone. It is just the nature of the beast at the time. Im sure Richt said a few less than holy things during his tenure as Head Coach. We as UGA fans are blessed to have them both and I always wished Richt could've won a national title as well, he deserved it.
I've been there many of times. I just had to learn to love myself more than I did today before. After watching your story I'm so glad you didn't jump. Because if you had succeeded. you would have missed all the blessings God would have had for you. But he had better plans for you. Thank you for not jumping.
Coach Bowden would be so proud of Coach Richt.
Thank you Coach Richt! You are truly an inspiration!🙏🏾🙏🏾

True indeed. I always loved Richt. Too many UGA fans only cared about a national title. With that said, I like what Kirby has done as well.

Mark Richt is a good man and cared about his players and wanted the best for them on and off the field.
