Ya it's true, the XM is kinda pointless. BMW launched it saying it's the most powerful BMW, I expected it to be an Urus competitor having around 300km/h or more top speed and would be fast, etc etc....But darn it, it's no different than a jacked up X5 with BMW's modern design elements. Surely expected better.... At that price one could get an Audi RS Q8 which is literally Lamborghini Urus with 50 less hp and 50 less torque yet has a top speed 305 km/h.
The BMW X5M competition is much better & personally I prefer it to the XM.... For the price there are much better options even from other brands like the RSQ8, Cayenne & GLE 63 AMG, all of which are better than the XM 27:08 nice save, I thought the car has had it 💀

Let’s me explain , if you want a v8 super suv and also for it to be luxurious and spacious this is the only option and the best value for money. It’s cheaper than the v8 Range Rover, lambo urus, Aston martin, g wagon, Bentley beteyaga by 2-4cr, depending on which car you compare it to. I ,my father, brother are all 6 feet+, so that means on any family drive one person has to sit behind, and there needs to be ample leg space and head space, cars like the x5, urus, Porsche cayene etc don’t have it. Honestly even with tech xm is the best, urus uses an old Audi system, Aston uses an old mb system etc. now Range Rover is perhaps spacious and tech apparent to Xm but even the V8 is not as aggressive in it and it’s tuned to be more a linear powerband and COSTS 2Cr+ more than the XM. Now I don’t wanna argue design cause it’s subjective but I personally think it LOOKS FUCKING EPIC. much better than even urus, g wagon and others and certainly better than car like x5m which looks super ave and has no sportiness to it. The colour shown in this video is awful for sure but see it in another colour and you will see its epic design. I don’t prefer it but it catches a lot of attention on the road. Another point on the design , It Looks Super Dominant, it’s not a meh car or a baby suv or like timid, it has a very dominant presence. It’s subjective for sure , just like I feel cullinan looks like a London cab and g wagon looks like a file cabinet and 10 other cars designed like it. Say what you want buy the XM looks like nothing else and I personally LOVE it. ( do see in black or any other colour than this) As best I can deduce as to why BMW made this car , it was to compete with cars like the g wagon , which are maybe not practical or this or that but are a little and style statement. Obviously they tried to do it without the heritage of a G WAGON so it’s not turned out very well for them, and I do agree that making it a hybrid and specially detuning it was a mistake , the label red should have just been the base version, that being said it’s still super fast, it quotes 4.3 0-100 but it goes 0-100 in 3.8 seconds easy and continuously, it will leave cars like cullinan, Range Rover v8, g wagon, Bentley benteyaga and any cayene except the turbo in the dust, . It handles better than you would think for a heavy car and the constant jerkiness that was being mentioned in the video was cause of the gear shift being the most aggressive setting, it can easily be rectified. That being said it is a stiff suspension setup but it something you get used to easily and it definitely doesn’t bounce around on the road, at higher speeds it’s totally normal, only lower speeds on bad roads going slow you miss an air suspension, but cause it’s an suv you don’t have to go super slow on bad roads so it’s not something that’s a constant problem, it’s pretty normal. Now I’m not a fan of the hybrid system but to be fair it helps you save a lot of petrol if you are into that , for eg Mumbai to Pune the battery drained completely but the car lost only 10% fuel, which is insane, it got little ahead of Lonavla in using no petrol at all. 80 km is electric only range but in hybrid it’s super efficient. There are a lot of other tech features which I can’t get into but xm is loaded with everything and the interiors at night become even better. The 3d sound system is also Insane. I don’t understand why it isn’t practical, it’s the length of a 7 seater in a 5 seater suv, has ample space for luggage , all the tech, is very efficient,priced better than any other super suv,super duper spacious for ppl sitting at back which cannot be said for literally any other super suv, even the leg space in a g wagon meh. Except for the stiff ride everything about the car is practical. I am speaking as someone who owns the XM and have lived with it. It’s gets a lot of shade everywhere cause ppl don’t understand its uniqueness which is fine, like I said it’s not for everyone and I’m glad it’s not for everyone. In summary I’d like to say it’s faster than you think, best priced compared to the competition, handles very good ,acceleration is bonkers😝 super spacious and luxurious inside, look fucking amazing to me personally and I wouldn’t exchange it for any other super SUV. ✌🏻
