- Another job off the list!! The GSX-R can smell it's own freedom now it's so close!! :D I know this isn't a full rebuild by any means but it does cover how to do fork seals and fork oil, which honestly for me is enough for now. I would like to fully upgrade the forks to something more modern at some point too so I didn't want to go too in depth for this one :)
If you did find it helpful though please do let me know in the comments :)
Thanks for watching!! :)

I recently bought a gsx r 1998.
Your videos have already been very useful in the first repairs.
Super, thank you very much.
Ah glad to hear it, enjoy it :)
I'm learning from your videos good job I now have changed my fork oil and seals as well from watching your videos thank you keep up with the videos .👍
All done!
I took her out for a gentle run today and everything is fine.
Thanks again for the excellent video. It really helped me out.
Cheers
Good stuff :) Not at all! Really glad it helped :)
I know this is like 12months old but quite enjoying this and learning. I have a 600 SRAD I need to get back on the road.
Hey they're uploaded forever that's what they're there for :)
Glad you enjoyed it! I've since learned you're definitely better off with proper tools to take the cartridge apart but a refresh worked fine :) Best of luck with it :)
@@TheGorillaBiker Cheers mate. The 600 has conventional forks so I'll have it to look into that when I get to it.
I've done a video on conventional too, on the Fazer, they're actually a lot easier to do :)
Keep going man and your SRAD will be like riding one straight out of the showroom 👍😊🏍️.
Oh I dunno about that :) I'll happily take serviceable and fun :) But thank you! :)
Great job!
Really clear explanation. I’m going order the parts and give it a go next weekend.
Cheers
Thanks :) How did you get on with it?
Cheers for the video, just fitted new seals on a mates bike. Shop I bought gen parts and oil from suggested 473 ml oil, bit precise!!
No hassle!! Haha just a bit :P I'll never give away my secret volumes :D
Nice job and you might have see deilboys garage re the rag at the bottom
Thanks for your help on this one as doing this job soon
Thanks, I don't actually watch delboy so it must have been someone else!
Not at all :)
Afternoon mate just watched the vid
My zzr 1400 has a upside down fork are the components the same in most fork that are upside down the manual says I need to use the spring compressor but your way goes form the bottle and leaves the cartridge in place
They're mostly the same, but some do need to be taken down differently, I was also only changing seals and oil. Some forks you won't be able to reassemble them without breaking them down further, not very helpful I know, sorry about that, I'd honestly follow your manual as best you can.
Thanks for the video, it really helped me out mate 👍
Glad it helped! :)
Im trying to figure how to get the front triple tree stand in. Did you have to remove the stearing stabilizer?
I didn't have a stock damper so I'm not sure, It was always very straight forward for me, if the damper is in the way in the stock location it probably has to come out yes.
Well, this reminds me that I’ll have to change the fork oil in my cruiser. Be safe mate.
They upside downs? If not it'll be a doddle for you :) You too man l, and I hope you have a good Christmas :)
@@TheGorillaBiker no, their are not upside down. Thanks and have a fantastic Christmas mate.
if u ever change them stanchions remember heat the foot up then u can undo the stansion they are threaded
Yeah which it very bloody handy, I think if I did change the front end though I'd go for the full front end!! :)
Great background music.
Thanks :) I hate trying to pick music!
Great, useful, video. Thanks.
Glad it was useful!
Cool underground soundtrack
Nice video lad 👍
Thanks :)
@@TheGorillaBiker not quite sure how the pm works on this man I must do that job to my own 750 soon just wondering what cc oil you ended up putting in. I'd be similar size to yourself.
I don't think there is one on RUclips tbh! I went with +25cc over stock, can't remember exactly how much but that number +25 :)
Lets say 12cc lol. Good idea to tune them. You can always add or remove a few ccs with a sucker and see what difference it makes. Going to put a cable tie on the tube to judge the dive? Another solid video.
Haha you're close enough :P Exactly. I added a nice bit extra to the Magna and it made a huge difference! Yeah a cable tie or just the dirt and grime that is ever present until March or so 😂 Thanks man :)
Hope the house is all sorted!
@@TheGorillaBiker The roof is back. Just fixed the ceiling. Still cleaning up. Still raining lol.
@@stephencartwright5046 Some good news at least!! Is the rain omnipresent at this time of year?
@@TheGorillaBiker Normally dry until around midday, Rain through till 6 or 7 pm. Sometimes earlier start. This is the rainy season.
Ah lovely. Well.i hope at the very least it's warm rain!
Where did you get the seals? I’m having trouble finding them for my 2000 gsxr 600
Cmsnl.com I think is where I got them! Tbh tho any decent bike shop should be able to source them for you!
hello, where did you get the seals and all the parts
The local motorcycle shop I think. I can't remember. Possibly online at cmsnl.com
@@TheGorillaBiker Ok thanks, Also, I was riding today and suddenly my oil light came on, 1997 gsxr 750 (carbs). any help? it is not flashing but is on
If you oil is the correct level you'd want to check your oil sensor etc, don't ever ignore an oil light!
@@TheGorillaBiker level is good, i don’t think the oil pump is picking up oil, either that or a passage way is blocked. the pipe that goes to the oil filter was leaking, hopefully not a expensive fix. I did ride the bike for around 3 mins back home at the r the light turned on, do you think any damage was done?
I couldn't say on damage man unfortunately, you'd have to strip it and look or drain the oil and check for metal at minimum. Otherwise if it sounded healthy it might just be the oil pressure sensor, I would guess that's all it is, plus if you had a leak you might have just had low pressure, hopefully it's all good.
love it
I have to do the forks on my srad what would it cost me to have a full rebuild done
I honestly haven't a clue how much it'd cost to get done in a shop as I've never given my bike to a shop to be worked on. Parts aren't big money tho.
Ya man I like doing the work my self to I’m going to hold off and do it this winter I’m super busy working now but winter we slow down I will have time to do it than I’m thinking about buying a new back shock and rebuilding the front forks
fuck what other people say,. Keep doing what you do.
I have done both of those things, thanks :)
GSXR YAYAYAYAYAYA
Late comment, my signature move!
That is not a little baby gixxer, that is an old old gsxr.

The lazy mans way of doing things is the most efficient way of doing things
Im gonna steal cleo
Wow your soft jaws are better than mine. Mine have no rubber on them
Nice face mask 5:30
HOW DARE YOU TAKE OFF YOUR SIGNATURE WATCH?!
I'm jamming to this sick guitar solo in the background of your video
All I got so far from this video is that you need to give the fork a handjob a lot and it will work
Now you need to tell me how much oil you put in the fork
^I typed that before you said to DM you the question lol
That beard is magical. What do you even look like without one
I found this video very helpful as I love watching gsxr content
You put in 525 cc of oil. Send me a signed sticker thanks
Intro and outro makes me very happy
VERY NICE
G'luck
Signature move that hurts every time...like the people's elbow.
It's myyyy little baby GSX-R. Also it's not a 1000 so it's a baby.
I also like my shoes. Shoes are important for foot comfort.
It really is!! :)
Please don't, she likes it here :D
Lad they were like 4.50 on ebay, get you some!!
Hahaha that's my often used for my face one :P Think I used it to balance something on...
To Protec it of course. Wow. So rude.
I did enjoy that guitar one. It's nice.
Ehhhh....pretty accurate yeah, keep em happy yano ;)
I look like a half formed human....I am nothing with no beard. LESS than nothing.
Hurray!! :D No one else did so far.
Hahahahaha wrong. No stickers for you.
Good. I literally only put them in for you. Now no one has watched this video. Devastation.
Goodbye amigo.
THE INTRO AND OUTRO MAKE MY HAPPY CHEMICALS FLOW WHEN I HEAR THE BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
😂😂😂😂
cool
SUPER
You didn’t measure the air-gap? Very Red lion
I don't know what Red lion is, but I've also never claimed to be a mechanic or know what I'm doing. So there's that! At the time I wasn't even able to get the cartridge apart. I did later, turns out it was broken.
