    Mr. Lassiter lived in Elizabeth City, N.C. He frequented City Billiards with paperback novels and sat in his chair reading most of the day. He was a fine guy an well respected by all !

    Hopkins talked about playing in a T shirt and tennis shoes with no thought about how the sport is presented The old guys had class and knew that people did not want to pay to see a bunch of slobs. Look where this sport of Kings is now !

      I have no interest in what the players are wearing. Not why I watch or play, If anything the outfits should be inexpensive so more people can play.

      Pucket in 1911 (82) !!! To assume they didn't play good well..?
      They're legends. You don't, nor ever will play as well as they did.

    I do not think Hopkins interpreted the shot Whimpy was doing at 33:00. To me it looks like he was banking the ball to carom at knock the ball on the end into the corner. The corner ball makes the pocket bigger. The stance was wrong to hit the combo on the 9. Isn't nine ball about doing two things at once?

  • @stevestewart6287
    @stevestewart6287 Год назад +2

    They talk about how great Wimpy is, and then you see him play, and he was not that good. I think a good 6 handicap in APA would have beat him at that age. He barely made a ball in either match. And yes I understand how old he is, but UJ is about the same age and he played pretty good. I know 7 handicaps in APA that would crush either one of these guys, including myself. And I am 63 years old.

    • @jamescathcart4762
      @jamescathcart4762 Год назад

      What a stupid comment. Puckett could string racks of nine ball all day long. That was on a big table for big money. He was 76 years old in this national tv broad cast. A 6 ft. APA valley table. Please!

    I think this series may have made people think that pool was an old man's game, so young people didn't take it up and Europe keeps winning the Mosconi Cup.
