I think listening to something that makes you think about details actually helps you to fall asleep quicker. So fact videos have been my favourite genre for asmr recently😂
“J is the only letter that doesn’t appear on the periodic table” That’s because chemistry uses Latinate naming conventions and J isn’t a letter in Latin. J was invented in the Middle Ages to distinguish between words where I was used as a vowel and when it was used as a consonant (making the “y” sound from English). This is also how the letter “u” was invented- to distinguish it from the letter V which also was used in classical Latin as both a vowel and consonant. Chemistry, like most modern sciences, uses the orthography and conventions of classical Latin for its nomenclature, so J is very seldom used. If any letter was going to be missing, it would be that one. The only time it’s really used is when they want to name something after a person whose name has a J in it.
“Antarctica is the only continent without reptiles” That is the least surprising fact I have ever learned. I never thought about it but it’s as if I’ve known it my whole life just because it’s so obvious a conclusion to make
