Sun gazing in Melbourne Point Ormond Lookout in Elwood Victoria Australia. One of the best place to watch the sun set.
Point Ormond is an elevated point at the Elwood beach on Port Phillip Bay.It has had an interesting and varied history. Originally called Little Red Bluff, it was named after Captain Ormond who sailed up Port Phillip Bay in 1939.
This area has definitely changed over the years and is highlighted by the elevated piece of land with the white tower on the top. Running along the shoreline and up and under the tower is a walking path and at the base of the tower you can find many a photographer snapping the sunsets over Melbourne on the right.
There is also a bike pathway and a pedestrian pathway - separate that are in high demand all times of the year. The beach is very safe and in the summertime is flagged.
This place is well worth your visit for a wellbeing perspective and for the views.
