It was such a pleasure seeing you in this stage. That V8 was so loud, we could hear you miles away from the spectator area.
Thank you for coming out!
The best thing about this isn't even the fact that it's a ferrari v8 powered subaru but his navigator/codriver is his girlfriend. ❤
Best girl in the world
Wife her!
Imagine having a girlfriend who tells you the turns *before* they come. That's the dream man, that's the dream.
@@Jeff-zf6zz also she herself is a kickass rally driver too. But she is so amazing that she knows he is a better driver so she stopped driving & started being codriver as she is best at that job. For a woman to be self conscious is unheard of nowadays very rare. He is very very lucky
Women will and always will be more organized, therefore sams rally notes where probably unorganized and not as well done as his master codriver, girlfriend, but realistically women are more organized, even George Washington our first president said the value of a First Lady to keep him in check and refer to to make sure he was just.. is priceless, having a woman do driver would be cool. But my wife usually drives and I co drive because I’m the tuner, mechanic and have photographic memory so the pace notes are a piece of cake. When I’m driving if I drive the track once. I don’t even need the notes, been driving and riding motorcycles on gravel backroads of Oregon my whole life, gravel is just second nature to me
Yes I will be at the Oregon trail rally. Can I afford to race. No I can’t this year unfortunately, due to our countries lack of economy, so I’ll be their supporting with my kiddos. And yes I will be in my 1985 Subaru rx turbo sedan with 06 sti swap, probably the only one left in the world, so you won’t miss me haha. IV never seen an actual rx turbo besides mine, all the rest are gl10 sedans, and not the original rx turbo with the 1 in 1500 rear badge ever made in 1985, and checkerd outlined rear glass and front window. Rarest Subaru of all time and the least produced from the factory. 1500 ever made in 1985 mine is 1018 off the line left hand drive meaning there was 250 left hand drive rx turbos that made it to the us and Canada.
I love Olympus. I wouldn't even ride a bike on these roads with this unprocessed gravel and we get crazy skilled drivers sending it, shredding tires 🤙
Amazing quality with no awful added music. Thank you
The V8 is the music
The roads look gnarly asf great job for getting through all that.
Okay, two questions. Firstly, who hear play rally sims? Secondly, who would love the opportunity to have this subie in one of the DiRT games?
Sick. Good angle for this
That sound... ❤ And great camera placement.
MEGA!
Wow! What was your run time, place? There were some rough, loose stuff. Your co-pilot/navigator called it.
This was an 8:06, 2nd overall. Brandon and Keaton obliterated us with a 7:26.
Awesome.
why does he always keep the revs relatively low? seems that the dash shifting indicator rarely goes past the green LEDs. maybe there is a reason, i dont know anything about this swap
Short answer is that’s it’s too loud to hear notes at higher RPM and we’re still working through some solutions with our in car intercom. Sometimes it’s also to manage grip on very loose surfaces.
You need to bring it over to NZ for the Otago Rally 2025. The roads would suit this beast.
That must be so hard for the co-driver. Your insists just tells you to stay quiet and listen to that scream...but you have some pacenotes to read.
this sound makes me tingle in ways I'd probably get into legal trouble for discussing publicly. what a outstanding concept that was pulled off in royal fashion and gives a noise that I compare to super-hot angels in g string's with les Paul's shredding a dimebag Darrel Abbott riff just slaying it. this hasn't to be the direct equivalent. just crazy awesome!!! its like someone is performing oral services but on my ear drums with Tommy Lee in the background playing shout at the devil!! mind altering. I feel like I'm going to smile as I spontaneously human combust, totally worth it! cheers
6th gear was engaged twice the car was mostly on gear 3
🤙🤙yes 👌.
This makes me so happy 😍
That drop into first sent chills up the spine!
Can’t get enough
Is there anyway you could make the V8 louder please? 😉🤣
I like her voice 🎉
Thank you. I almost lost it trying to be louder than the Ferrari but luckily the 4hrs of sleep overnight brought it back 😊
Rovanperä would drive much faster with Toyota Yaris😂
Car is sick af but what is up with the babying? So many mistakes of braking and no throttle when it should have been max attack
We missed you out there. Too busy running your mouth in the comments to make the race? Was the car you don’t have broken? Ah you were on restriction and your mom wouldn’t let you go.
The answer to this is one of the biggest challenges we face as a self funded privateer team. This pace got us 2nd on this stage only to Subaru’s factory team. Fighting them for overall is near impossible and certainly not sustainable with our budget and resources. So then do we still max attack and risk binning it and wearing parts faster for the same result or do we control the pace according to the rest of the competition? Sure, I’d love to go flat out all the time but I also have to deal with the repercussions when it’s back home in my garage. Finding the right balance is the key to us to remain competitive while still being sustainable for what we can afford. Probably not what a lot of people want to hear, but that’s just the reality we face.
Nicely put Mate.
And you both get to drive home.
Amazing car, beautifully driven.
Cheers Matt
