I'm always amazed when a woman takes interest in vinyl because many women get discouraged . I started spinning a long time ago, and my partner left my records at someone's house since he was practicing there. I went to get them and they were gone, and I was crushed, barely able to keep from choking him out. That taught me to be self sufficient and continue DJing bunder my own terms. I found a spot in the city where they sold vinyl 4 for a dollar and rebuilt my collection 100 times over. I used to take one of my daughters with me,and then when we got home she would be right next to me as I listened to them. So one day I am playing Average White Band, and she says to me Daddy, that's "pick up the pieces',and I was so proud. So along the way,I now have sommany records and CDs I lost track. I know it's over 20,000+ and maybe this year I will actually go through them again. I ended up getting a system that was ok,and then I found gear that was not too expensive to build a proper system and project studio. One of my friends did some DJ work on Dangerous, and maybe this year I might donate some records I do not use. From what I know, Kanye is pretty out there mentally yet he is a monster with the Ensoniq ASR10 and other studio gear..
