Oh wow, have to debunk this statement: at about 28" into the lecture he claims that breast exams can cause CTCs to shed into the blood. There is no scientific evidence of this anywhere to be found.
"Myth: Compression of the breasts causes cancer. Fact: There is no scientific evidence that compression of the breast causes cancer. Also, breast compression while getting a mammogram cannot cause cancer to spread."
Routine breast exams, including clinical breast examinations performed by healthcare professionals and breast self-exams conducted by individuals, are not known to increase circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in the bloodstream. The primary purpose of breast exams is to detect changes or abnormalities in the breast tissue that may be indicative of various conditions, including breast cancer. These exams involve palpation or touch to feel for lumps, changes in texture, or other signs that may warrant further investigation.
Circulating tumor cells are cells that have detached from a primary tumor and are circulating in the bloodstream. They are part of the process of metastasis, where cancer cells can potentially spread to other parts of the body.
I am not sure what is up with the naturopathic community but they do sometimes wonder off into areas of pseudoscience. Have to double check this stuff.
