If you think it's not a kirin, you're frankly blind. They all have multiple pulls from what they were based on. But raging bolt clearly took inspiration from a Kirin the most, it's basically just a literal Kirin in every way shape and form.

@@turtlenator6249I'm fairly confident that Single Strike saw more play than Rapid Strike in VGC prior to gen 9. Especially in the formats that Calyrex dominated since SS Urshi had a favorable matchup into both Calyrex rider forms.

In Galar Urshifu Single Strike was the most used out of the two. Specially in the last years because of Calyrex. Thats why he is the one nerfed
Rapid Strike just happened to adapt better to this gen's metagame, and even then you will see single strike
I tbh doubt it. It at best will make Urshifu play more defensive.....or simply be ran alongside Farigiraf, since she shuts down thunderclap and cam just slaps Raging Bolt with Dazzling Gleam
You can also run tera grass solar beam for those pesky ground types, coupled with torkoal or ninetales into protosynthesis makes raging bolt a pretty scary sweeping mon

There is a song track in Jujutsu Kaisen that is called Thunderclap. I immediately thought of raging bolt
Provably my favourite of the ancient beasts. It's an electric type that takes cues from Brontosaurus. Very clever.
I'm a fan of Electroweb on Bolt for speed control. Helps my slower-end sun team keep up while throwing around some spread damage to help Gouging Fire take kos
i wanna test out a set using Bolt next to a redirector, and then Dragon Cheer on him with Draco Meteor and Razor Claw/Scope. The theory is that every single attack will now Crit 100% of the time bc of the cheer, so i can spam Draco and not worry bout the stat drop, and then kill with Crit Thunderbolt and Thunderlap. i made an EV spread too, which allows me to outspeed Max Speed non boosted Dragapult in Tailwind. idk how good it will be ofc cuz i havent done the testing yet since ive been busy with the holidays, but i want it to succeed.
Let’s see how many cheaters get DQ’d by not knowing the whole 20 IV thing

Been running: calm mind, weather ball, Draco meteor, thunder clap on my sun team and its been clearing great
My main set has been ThunderBolt, Draco meteor, solar beam and Weather ball with Tera Fire on a Trick Room Team (alongside torkoal and hatterene+indeedee, so ko thunderclap)
If someone gets DQ'd for having less than 20 IVs on one of the paradox Pokemon that's kind of a dumb mistake to make. Checking Pokemon for validity before adding them in should be common sense

I’m using screens Gholdengoat straight bulk and it still one hit flutter man with shadow ball it pairs so good with raging bolt get the reflect up with on calm mind is so good

tbh i really like raging bolt but i prefer using gouging fire just for burning bulwark and the good ol burn immunity it clears many pokemon (fairy and fire specifically with earthquake and neutral damage to fairies to clear em up) and in the sun it has flare blitz to kill even more so my ace (serperior with countrary) cleans up the rest with stellar tera blast and gastro acid skeli to negate unaware not saying it's bad at all but they just made gouging fire such a good type combo and so many other good options and if a pokemon isn't using a damaging move thundercalp is kinda useless (unless you knew that the opposing pokemon was gonna use sword dance 3 times instead of killing you and thus clicked it) and you're not gonna out speed anything that can insta kill you (or put you to sleep since darkrai is a thing) and playing around crits (and status effects) is always a bad idea so competetively gouging fire is probably gonna end up being used far more just due to better speed (which can out run darkrai when given choice scarf) than raging bolt and electric dragon has more weaknesses than gouging fire though it can be played around by tera fairy/water/grass gouging fire plays with tera far better (eg : tera fairy as it literally covers all its weaknesses) though i maybe wrong i think it's the worst of the past paradox trio since walking wake and gouging fire benefit from the sun far (speed with walking wake and attack with gouging fire and you can run choice specs/scarf to kill threats) more than raging bolt and raging bolt is only a potential heavy hitting wall with tera which is also good so probably it's gonna end up as a late game sweeper in some teams basically it's the middle child of the past paradox trio

I was testing a team this week and ran into the Calm Mind one, damn I knew what was gonna happen, but wasn't able to avoid it.
Tried screens, Parting Shot, while damaging the other slot in the meanwhile. However, when I realized, this piece of crap was at +2/+4. Nothing to do when Thunderclap OHKO all my team (after Screen was over)

Noob to competitive here, trying to learn more and get some team building knowledge. Got a question about the IVs. Since you can't breed these to force lower IVs (or rather I assume you can't since it is a legendary, idk if the paradox stuff makes it breedable though) do they come with their IVs already at the minimum 20 IVs? If not, how do you lower them?
The paradox legends will always be 20 in each. There is no way to lower IVs

Just wanne say great video and I hope I get enough time after christmas to get all the new pokemon they look really great! I was really thinking if the DLC's a worth my time because I dont play pokemon so much but now that I started my 3rd playthrough I really wanne get thr new pokemon.

I love raging bolt so much, but I need to talk about the funniest interaction I had on showdown earlier.
Long story short the team I’m running has a max Hp/max SpD Careful Incineroar. It took a max special attack, choice specs, special attack booster Draco Meteor from the opposing raging bolt and survived on 2%. My opponent got so heated they rage quit. (They yelled at me about the build before leaving)
As of note, this set only has a 68.8% chance to oh-ko that specific Incineroar set lol

How does stellar Tera's interaction with Tera blast effect the contrary ability? Does it pop as normal and increase the atk and spack by 1 stage? Do you get to keep clicking it as super effective? I have no idea and just thought about it as I was whatching this
It raises both your attack and special attack by 1 stage after each use instead of drop. Stellar T-blast is only super effective into mons that have also tera'd, it's neutral otherwise (but always gives the drops)

You want 20 because the lowest you can get is 20 attack. This minimizes damage from hitting yourself in confusion, and foul play. Ideally you'd want 0 attack IV on a special attacker.

Quick question: I played VGC the other day and used taunt on a Tornadus to prevent Tailwind. It still could use it. Why exactly is that so? Not really an expert in that regard
Probably had a mental herb as its item. Negates taunt, encore, etc a single time.

From what I've seen, Raging Bolt isn't actually that good of a counter. Urshifu-Tornadus teams have started running Landorus-Incarnate, and NeilVGC has been able to position around it w/ Incineroar, Rillaboom, and Flutter Mane.
I'm still of the opinion that Raging Bolt will not actually meaningfully counter Tornadus + Urshifu. It'll just force them to play better. So far that seems to be panning out.
Forcing them to run lando I means they have to bring it to the MU so it's easy around imo.
When the (new) mon that can hit through protect may not even be the best one 😳

Even so, if it's possible to obtain that way even if it's unlikely why spend all the time reseting for it. All that does is mean people with more money just pay for other people to do the time for them. Genning evens the playing field

Lando-I could definitely be a good counter against Raging Bolt. Ground type that usually runs a poison move (which would hit both common tera)

@@Prince_Spoopy Sadly thats not how Sheer Force works. It doesn't count stat drops from skills and thus those won't get Sheer Force boosted.
EX:
Darmanitan uses Flair Blitz? Flair Blitz will deal 30% extra damage but it will never burn.
Darmanitan uses Hammer Arm? Hammer Arm will deal its normal interaction damage and will lower Darms Speed by 1

Can confirm. Got cooked by it in a for fun local. But fortunately Bundle slots in very nice on Raging Bolt teams and now I'm back to doing well with it.
VGC players freaking out that they need 0 attack IVs for the 1/100 off chance they either hit themselves in confusion or get foul played in a match

Miraidon isn't legal, so you couldn't use it even if you wanted to. Also they fill two completely different roles

Both. Boulder is top tier, Fire and Bolt aren’t far behind and even Hydrapple is pretty good.
