"View" came out in 2015, and it's another one of the numerous songs that was wrote by Jonghyun. Jonghyun is highly respected as a singer/songwriter and he was one of the most prolific songwriters and composers of his generation. SHINee were actually the ones to introduce deep house style music (the official name of the style of music) to the Kpop industry with "View."
"View" was even voted by the Korean public as one of the songs that needs to make a comeback in 2021, because it was so ahead of its time in 2015 that people didn't appreciate it for what it was. It has now become one of SHINee's most popular songs. Check out SHINee's appearance on the variety show MMTG part 1: ruclips.net/video/siAsCLpgZTI/видео.html and part 2: ruclips.net/video/6GEawttTotU/видео.html when SHINee came on the show to discuss the popularity of "View" and talk about their legacy in the Kpop industry, etc. (They even performed "View" in their Beyond Live virtual concert in 2021 as a special showcase for MMTG.).
Key is SM Entertainment's director of fashion, and he often is the one that designs SHINee's outfits for their MVs and concerts. So, the look and concept for this MV was all created by Key in collaboration with their stylists. He decided he wanted their looks to emulate skater-boy fashion and in order to accomplish that they actually went to the local markets and purchased the clothes for this MV and their comeback stage outfits right off the rack. Which had them setting their own trend yet again, and doing something that no one else was doing at the time. (Everything SHINee does is trendsetting, including their fashion. They are known for their huge influence on the fashion industry in Korea. SHINee is the group that is known for being the first to do almost everything. They start the trend and everyone else follows.)
Onew is the one with the white hat, Jonghyun is the one with the Guns & Roses T-shirt, Key is the one with the "Girl Power" jersey and headband, Minho is the one with the white shirt with the red lettering and Taemin is the one with the gray tank top.
Fun fact: This MV was filmed in Thailand, so the actresses are all Thai. The funny thing is, the girls don't speak Korean.The SHINee members said they really didn't interact much with the girls when not filming because they couldn't communicate with them.
If you look up the lyrics for "View" you will see that the song is about being mesmerized and sort of brainwashed by the beautiful view as seen within a dream. The story in the song is told from the viewpoint of someone with synaesthesia. The MV seems to be about living in the dream of being like a normal group of young men hanging out with friends and having fun in the summer without anything to worry about. However, SHINee have been kidnapped by the girls, and although they end up having fun hanging out together, I think why we hear the police sirens at the end is because the police are coming to rescue SHINee. If you notice, even though they are having fun most of the time, whenever the girls get close to them, SHINee pushes them away, or looks away.
So SHINee are not necessarily 100% OK with everything that is happening.

Fun fact No. 2: Ian Eastwood, the choreographer that designed Taemin's solo debut "Danger" choreography was the one who choreographed "View."

The lyrics have nothing to do with the MV, Jonghyun wrote them about how love intensifies the senses, describing them as experienced by someone with synaesthesia, they're one of his most creative pieces of work!
This is their most laid-back choreography, it inspired Taemin to create Move as he realised that dance didn't have to be intensely difficult to have visual impact!
This song will always be iconic, this was literally trendsetting (music, fashion, dancing) in kpop at the time. The lyrics are about synaesthesia, everyone thank Jonghyunnie 💙

SHINee just celebrated on May 25 2024 their 16th year Anniversary. They had 3 day live concerts in Seoul called “Perfect Illumination”.
You should check their latest album HARD which has much more mature tracks.
This song is amazing. It’s a younger shinee with the sound from their early career and it was just golden. Most members placed this song as their favourite recently. It’s got a slight British summer song vibe but their song the feeling is sooo British summer.
This is pure legendary. When View came out in 2015, it was literally 'sensation'. SHINee created a house genre craze in K-pop through View, and also tried casual styling for the first time among K-pop outfits that were in uniform style at the time. (Key, who is one of the SHINee's member, recommended casual styling to the SM and SM accepted it. Originally, they had to go on stage in uniform, too) SHINee has tried so many different music genres, but it's recognized as their signature song by the Korean public.
The lyrics to the chorus are essentially "such a beautiful view" over and over again. And with the reveal that what we're seeing is the girls' POV, I agree.. what a beautiful view of SHINee5 💙 moreeee SHINee needed
This song is just peak shinee 💎
The story in the video is that they are a famous idol group living in a kind of golden cage, then, when they came to Thailand for some schedules, a bunch of fans kidnapped them in order to give them a taste of freedom. That's why they run from the police, they don't want to let go of their freedom. If you want SHINee related Stockholm syndrome, Taemin's Criminal is about that.
The lyrics of View were written by Jonghyun and they describe experiencing love through synesthesia. Apparently, he described it so well, that in Korean universities they use this song to teach about this condition.

Fun fact but South Korean schools use the lyrics of this song to teach about synesthesia! Jonghyun wrote the lyrics and they're pretty widely considered a masterpiece. Though the song's nine years old now (wtf where has time gone... I've been a fan since 2010), even now it still pops up a lot as background music on TV shows, and whenever summer hits it starts climbing up the charts again lmao. View's seen as a quintessential SHINee song.

View is one of Shinee's most iconic songs (along with replay, ring ding dong, lucifer). With this song deep house is introduced into k-pop. It is a song written by Jonghyun (like Juliette, odd eye, Selene 6.23) We want to talk about Jonghyun's voice....chills 💎 (his voice is still considered one of the most beautiful in k-pop). I recommend you watch his live performance while he performs Y si fuera ella

Thats not all the music videos and doesn't include solo work or Japanese songs but its somewhat of an overview of their career/most popular songs :) This also doesn't include dance practices or live performances - both of which SHINee are very well known and loved for!

This MV has always been bonkers to me, cause I'm an EXO-L, and this almost happened for real to EXO, supposedly~ "Fans" got an exact replica of the van EXO used at the time & parked it at a location EXO was going to be, and the members almost got inside *BUT* one of their managers realized something wasn't right and pulled them back at the last second. I think it also happened to some other idols over the years~~~ I know SHINee has always had a very trusting relationship with their fans, but...😅
