Excellent instructional because explains technique all the way through shot and why this spinning return can fit any ones ability. Returning spins is much more difficult than flat shots. thanks....
Jordan, it looks to me that you are driving them deep with your forehand and returning them with a slice when it is hit to your backhand only? Being a beginner I noticed some people I play with also return it for a forehand slice?
The backhand slice is usually a much more natural shot for most people. On the forehand side, it can be more difficult to get the same spin as the backhand side. This is why it may seem like I am hitting more of a groundstroke on the forehand side.

Notice the difference between forehand and backhand slice movement. The forehand is not really a slice but more like as flat shot with face open initially but not much slicing on o flow through, unlike backhand
Long or short, high or low returns, one should be able to slice return. The technique will be the player's positioning, using continental grip angle slice when hitting the ball underspin or sidespin...with pulled back paddle, quick follow through whip all the way to shoulder after hitting the ball on the right point of impact.
I may suggest On the next topic, one instructor should explain/define the difference: when reading offensive shots and defensive shot while the ball is in-play? This will be beneficial to advance the player's pickleball game.
The low driving sliced return makes it difficult for even very quick people to get to the. NVZ line before the serving team hits their third shot. Additionally, a shot without topspin will not drop like a topspin shot causing the ball to sometimes carry too long. Finally, a slice is usually hit low with very little net clearance which can cause unforced errors into the net. If the receiving team has the advantage to begin with, why hit an aggressive shot when unforced errors are more likely to result? Isn’t it better to just hit a lofty deep return to allow yourself time to get to the NVZ line and keep the chance of unforced errors to a minimum?
This is why you practice. The best players can consistently hit deep returns with slice or topspin, making the 3rd shot for the serving team more difficult.
Your backhand slice seems to have quite a bit more spin than your forehand slice. You really carve it with your backhand, but not so much with your forehand. Any reason for this?
The backhand slice is more of a natural stroke compared to the FH slice. This has a lot to do with the dominant shoulder turn. This makes it much easier to put slice on the BH side. Along with this, I am also trying my best to work on making my FH slice better!

I second the previous comment. Would appreciate a slow motion of where ball contacts paddle and to see angle of paddle. Thanks for great videos!

The drill is a useful suggestion. I would’ve like to see a little more instruction and tips on how to actually make that shot.
Thanks Gil! We have other videos specifically on how to hit the slice, check it out!

Thanks for showing the powerful low slice. Annoyed by the giant hack high floating examples online. You guys rock! 💯👏
Thanks Ryan!
Would have like to have seen a slow mo, or close up of how you started and ended the slice!
We have a previous video on the backhand slice with Slomo in our other videos, check it out!

Is there a reason you spin your paddle after every hit? Do you do that during games also? Thanks.
Just for fun!

ehh... not sure I agree. both are a slice.

Hello
I have a question on the return serve after the initial serve. Is it allowed to land in the kitchen?
Yes
@@primetimepickleball Thank you!
Great teaching video!
Thanks Chuck !

Great topic!
It looks like you were cutting across the ball a bit and finishing with the paddle facing upOn the follow-through; Is this correct?
Yes. If you browse our videos we have a specific video breaking down the slice!
What are those markers called? Thanks
Cones or court markers.
